The Army and the Navy would see that she
got her bases.

I was beginning to catch some of Tom's
fever for the big ship, and my whole

was eager to take her into combat.

What a weapon.

She could double in spades any airplane
ever built by anybody anywhere.

And when she laid her eggs on a target,

General Wolf was the daddy of the B -29.

build it, the big bomber was General

Wolf's baby.

And like a good parent, he worried about
it and was proud of it.
