And the tone hardens. As long as they
think he's still breathing.

Randall cynically stays out of the way
so he may claim his bounty.

You're not careful, you're going to
flatter me to death.

Now listen to me.

As far as Kane is concerned, our
business is finished.

Well, that kind of shot her alibi.

claim full ownership of the mine.

But what about the bounty?

Later, the tone of the series hardens,
and women bear the brunt of Randall's

character. I'm going to hang Harry

Listen, ma 'am. Season two introduces a
string of women, each being more cynical

than the last.

Men like that need exterminating so this
country will be fit for decent people

to live in.

Some are driven by vengeance.

I don't think another killing is going
to help tame it, but I do believe that

the law will.

Others are driven by money, which
Randall finds can be a poisonous

over to dark cynicism, when a man who

to be hanged takes revenge on the town
that sentenced him, and forces the

inhabitants to destroy it.

The arrival of the Jason character in
Season 2 added a short -lived, softer

touch.
