It looks like we have backpackers. Is it
going to be curious? No.

I make a living in the movies, but for
the past 20 years, I've also been a cop.

I swore an oath to uphold the law, and
my new beat is Arizona, where my team

I tangle with some of the roughest bad
guys I've ever met.

It's dangerous out here, but that's what
we do.

I'm Steven Seagal, lawman.

Lieutenant Bailey and I are headed into
Gila Bend, a very, very high -intensity

area for narco -trafficking and human
trafficking.

Most of the activity happens at night
before we get on the day to see if we

anything suspicious.

Lieutenant Bailey is the expert on
what's happening and where it's

here. It's a pretty popular area for
these guys, somewhat flat. There's some

decent roads they can get in and out of.

There's a lot of somewhat fresh tire
sign in front of us.

Very fresh.

Do you see these fresh footprints going
this way?

That looks like a human highway right
there.

What happens is guides known as coyotes
transport people across the border for a

fee. Once they get out in the desert
between the snakes and lack of water, a

of times they don't even make it through
the desert.

When you get a look at it, you can kind
of tell if it's an hour old, days old.

That's kind of the stuff we look at.

Coyotes will generally promise to drop
their human loads at a safe house, and

for many of these groups, their journey
is in there.

But other coyotes will hold people
hostage for more money.

They even torture, rape, and kill their
victims.

Has anybody spotted anything anywhere?

We encountered some scouts about 24
hours ago.

They'll watch some of the routes and
radio down and say you're good to go or

don't come through here.

They're probably looking at us right
now.

I almost jumped on that thing.

We've been asked by the human smuggling
unit to serve a search warrant on a

house where we believe there are armed
coyotes inside.

to meet with Lieutenant Joe Souza, who's
head of the Human Smuggling Unit and

the SWAT team now.

How was the desert today, Stephen?

Barely almost got bit right around the
neck, so... Oh, yeah?

All right, guys, let's do what we do.

We pulled over a human smuggling vehicle
on one of the known smuggling routes we

work. One of the people being smuggled
led us back to this house.

All right, guys, let's brief this up.

He's seen two coyotes in and out with
pistols.

One guy would come back and forth in a
pickup with a pistol in his pants, and

another coyote has been at the house the
whole time with a pistol.

The human smuggling unit is one of the
most active units here in the Sheriff's

Office, and for sure one of the most
dangerous.

We've come up against bad guys with
rifles and guns and a level of violence.

That's why you need a SWAT team. They're
real brutal.

I'm going to be on the perimeter with
the containment team.

My job is to try to catch anybody that
might try to escape.

The entry team will reach the front door
where the rest of the team will secure

the backyard.

For the second story, we're using Vato
right now. We dominate the bottom floor.

Send him up.

So this is Vato. He's my partner.

He's six years old. He's a
Czechoslovakian shepherd.

He's great at locating people when
they're hidden inside a building.

the best partner I've ever had, and he
always has my back.

Let's load up, guys.

We want to hit a house with speed,
surprise, and violence of action.

We want to hit it so hard and so fast
that the individuals inside don't have

opportunity to put up a fight. And
that's really for everybody's safety.

Anytime

we're

about ready to kick into a door, we have
no idea what's going to happen.

You have to really remain calm.

What's the cop trying to do?

Two windows there.

That's those two windows.

We've made several commands and we've
got no response.

SWAT's going to have to use a battering
ram to make a fourth sensor.

There's nobody on the first floor, but
the second floor, there is a locked door

that we can't get into.

I don't get nothing going up to that
door.

All right, go ahead and break it down.
Here comes the dog,

guys.

Deputy Ray is going to need to fire some
tear gas up there to see if we can push

him out.

How many people are in the house?

We have no reason to believe them, so
we're sending the dogs to see if there's

anybody else in there.

House is clear.

But we did find a gun and some rounds in
the room where the three subjects were

hiding.

I think Roger did a great job. He did a
great job.

You know, the dog really came through
tonight. We used multiple technology.

dog's nose has worked out pretty good.

He looks a lot like my dog, but my dog's
just a little bit bigger.

So you think the dog will be able to do
some SWAT stuff?

Yeah. He's bad for the bone, real fast
and real aggressive.

Bring him out to our training course,
and we'll run him through some tests and

see how he pairs up to this police dog.

Yeah. We'll see what he's got. We'll do
some training tomorrow.

Today we're out at our MCSO canine
training facility.

This is where Mike and I train our dogs
for all the police work they do.

Chief talks a big game on how good a dog
is.

So we're going to do some of our canine
SWAT training. We've got a big bark, so

let's see if he has a big bite.

Carr is my pet, but he's also highly
trained for attack.

If they're just thinking that he's some
home couch potato, they're going to get

a big surprise.

I don't know what the dog's capable of.
He's capable of anything, including

cooking your breakfast.

I want that dog.

Today we're going to do some recall
work.

Stephen's going to send Tar out to
apprehend the suspect, but call his dog

and keep him under control.

This is a very hard task for the dog.
They want to go out and get the suspect,

but we've got to be able to recall him
and have that control on the dog.

We got a lot more stuff to throw at him.

In this scenario, we're going to send a
car on a bite.

He's going to take the bite. Steven's
going to have to call the dog off the

bite. Have the dog return to him.

That

was

a good one.

He was biting him with his tonsils. He
was so deep. Very solid.

Who does he want?

I'm going to have him come down here,
and then when you see an opening, you're

going to attack him. Hey, man, you get
to attack Steven Seagal right now.

We're worried about Doug.

After seeing his performance, you know,
there's no doubt he's a very well

-trained dog.

I think that Mike and Tony were pleased
with the car's performance.

Right now we're just heading over into
Vico Valley.

It's a stretch of desert southwest of
Phoenix just off of Interstate 8.

Very, very active border for narco
-trafficking and human trafficking.

We got our buddy John Graham up in an
aircraft doing some surveillance.

We've got a camera system that will
allow us to see if we've got any

that are down walking through the
desert. Typically they like to bring

marijuana in their backpacks.

Each one carries about 50 pounds, and
they walk for five or six days up

the desert, bring it up to Phoenix.

So we try to interrupt their cycle.

John, you see anything?

they hit the highway or they're going to

be lost for good.

If they're really

totally dope, they'll do whatever they

He might have been dropped off down in
the desert earlier today to meet up with

this group and lead them the rest of the
way into Phoenix.

We're not sure what this guy's
intentions are. If this guy's a POT, he

have just dropped these guys off safely
in Phoenix.

He could be a violent one.

We don't know.
