His death sentence was nullified in 1997 by a Berlin court.

After the war, a group of nuns brought his ashes back to Sankt Radegund

At the Mass of his beatification in 2007 , Franz was remembered as a normal person with his faults.

Judge Lueben, was asked to to condemn three priests in 1944. Instead, he chose to commit suicide.
