The director is Debbie Allen.

Ashanti has worked with her on several occasions. She's family.

And, of course, this is a great opportunity for Ashanti,

but she's feeling like it was just too much for her.

Okay, so there's a couple of firsts going around.

Obviously, the first baby,

the first time you'll be traveling.

One thing that I do know is that you are a professional.

You know, you have a commitment. You wanna do the right thing,

but at the same time, your priority is the baby.

Before the baby, she consistently worked hard.

Like, five shows a week.

And it will be difficult leaving him for certain amounts of time

because she's so close to him.

But in terms of her career, she has to work,

and I have to make that happen.

If you're having reservations, I could speak to Debbie.

You know, Debbie can limit the choreography to what you do,

so that will be one ease off your mind.

And you know what, too? I need a teleprompter.

So, yeah, we should definitely make sure-- And a big, big one.

I'm gonna just write down all of these things that will help,

you know, alleviate some of the pressure.

Right now, I'm still on the fence.

I'm moving as if it's moving forward, but,

you know, I got to make sure the snatch is snatched.

I'm a mom first, but the management side of me

has to get her through this business.
