Original subtitles

- [Narrator] A group of complete strangers

from across New Zealand

have arrived at this isolated lodge.

To play the game of a lifetime,

with the ultimate aim of winning up to $70,000.

Hidden amongst them, though,

are the traitors,

who will each night secretly murder their fellow players,

eliminating them from the game.

It's up to the surviving players to work out

who the traitors are.

- I really trust that guy.

- I'm not making this up.

- [Narrator] And banish them.

- See you in hell!

- [Narrator] Because if a traitor remains undetected,

they take home all the money.

Previously, three traitors were chosen.

- You kind of feel powerful in a way

because you have control.

- [Narrator] And early suspicions started flying.

- Robbie is my number one suspect.

That's the psychic ability that's coming through.

- You just gotta watch for slip ups, I think.

- It's all a bit tense, eh?

- [Narrator] The players began building the prize fund.

- Aren't you clever?

- [Narrator] And the traitors conspired

to murder their first victim.

- Brooke,

Dylan,

or Kimberly.

All right, I think we've got a decision.

Yeah...

(calm music)

- [Narrator] Last night,

the traitors committed their first murder,

but which faithful didn't make it through the night?

- Oh, we're the first.

(Dan laughs)

How exciting...

Oh, my God.

Let's sit right opposite the door.

- Walking to breakfast,

I'm feeling pretty good.

My focus is to be surprised,

but not too surprised.

Oh, my gosh,

how did you sleep?

- I slept like a log.

- With Justine, I managed to say a few things

or just act in a certain way where I feel

that she trusts me more now.

I was kind of wondering like,

if you get murdered, do you get murdered

at the night or day?

Do they let you sleep and they wake up in the morning?

- I don't know.

- So, that was quite valuable.

Just her and I time.

- I feel bad for whoever didn't make it.

(everyone cheering)

(scattered chatter)

- [Loryn] How's it going?

- This game got a lot more real today.

The short crew,

short crew we made it.

- We made it.

- You have to look at people with a different set of eyes,

like people might be up to something.

- Yes, we made it.

- What's up?

And now,

it's like there's traitors in the room,

which is uncomfortable.

- Our photos are up.

- It's actually quite good in terms

of everyone's photos up to go...

That's what we've been doing,

looking at the photos.

- Relax a minute, mate.

- The crazy thing about this game

and having no contact the outside world is

that you are just immersed, you know?

Okay, who's gonna be next?

At night time, you go back to your room,

you think about the game.

You wake up in the morning,

you think about the game.

I'm gonna try and keep my emotions in check and be calm.

That's what I'm gonna try and do.

Good luck.

(everyone cheers)

(everyone cheers)

- So, as we well know,

I'm a faithful.

Unfortunately.

I have to survive.

The traitors, have the villainous opportunity

to wipe me out.

And I don't want that to happen.

- The other thing about the morning

is that the traitors now know who each other are.

Yeah, they'll be awkward around each other, you know?

- Or not.

- No, they will be.

(everyone laughs)

- Could I suggest those two, maybe?

- We've solved it.

(everyone cheers)

- What a great bunch!

What a good bunch!

- I am so relieved when I get

to walk in through that door.

- Hey!

- My hands were shaking when I got in there

for maybe 10 minutes.

I was so, so excited that I get

to be part of the game.

Are we the last?

- [Brodie] No, no...

(everyone cheers)

(everyone cheers again)

- Welcome.

- I was nervous,

because my face would've told it all.

But I do believe that I can hold up this lie,

I've done it my whole life being a dancer.

I'm here to put my game face on.

- Do we reckon they've taken Brooke?

Because he's outspoken.

But then everything that he said yesterday was off the mark.

- What I hope,

is I hope they haven't taken Matt.

- Yeah!

- That would be rude.

- [Justine] That would stink.

(everyone cheers)

- [Brooke] Is everybody else here?

- [Brodie] No, Kimberly and Dylan.

Kimberly and Dylan.

- I didn't sleep at all last night.

And this whole thing is just messing with my head.

That was one of the worst 10 hours of my life.

I have no idea what's happening, who is a traitor.

And I was pretty sure I would be murdered last night.

- Gut instincts, okay, who do I reckon is the traitors?

- Who do you reckon?

- Well,

can't really say.

- Right behind you?

- Mhm.

It feels kind of bad 'cause, you know,

our job is we gotta find a freaking traitor,

'cause I would really hate it tonight

if we voted off someone who wasn't.

- I'm suspicious about Darth Vander,

because she hides in plain sight.

Have a chocolate?

- Merci.

- She'd be a great traitor...

- Fill me in,

so is everybody here but Kimberly and Dylan?

- [Anna] Yeah.

- Wow.

I bet she didn't see that coming.

- Well, she did.

- Dylan was under the radar for me.

- Dylan really wants to play this game.

- [Kings] Yeah.

- But he's super keen on...

- He's a threat, I reckon.

- I reckon it's Kimberly, gone.

(suspenseful music continues)

(everyone cheers)

(calm music)

- While we're having breakfast,

the last people that hadn't turned up,

they were Dylan and Kimberly.

- What's the prediction?

Who's gonna come through?

- I think it's Kimberly.

(everyone cheers)

(scattered chatter)

- Who's not here?

- [Colin] Kimberly.

- Oh, wow.

(suspenseful music)

- So, who are we going to murder?

- That's the big question.

- I still think that Kimberly's

the low hanging fruit for the day that keeps us safe.

- If one of our names is bought up by her,

the players will believe her.

- All right. I think we've got a decision.

Let's kill Kimberly.

- Oh, dear Kimberly,

you have hereby been murdered,

yours faithfully, the traitors.

Oh, that is so predictable.

(Kimberly laughs)

- Whoever you are, I hope you realise

spirits are coming for you tonight.

You've upset the powers that be...

- First murder feels invigorating to be honest.

You know, people are going.

- And we were all really curious

as to what she was gonna predict.

- And then I saw her face change

'cause she saw her own death.

(contestants laugh)

- Honestly, I'm really sad that Kimberly's gone,

because I felt like we had a little bit of a connection.

But it's not about making friends.

So,

it is what it is.

(calm music)

(contestants cheering)

- Good morning everybody,

I trust you slept well.

I mean, why on earth wouldn't you guests?

I have been for a brisk 10km.

There is nothing like fresh country air

to cleanse the soul after a murder.

So sad, too.

We barely got used to having Kimberly around,

and now the poor child has gone.

Taken far, far too early.

Nevermind.

(contestants laugh)

Tonight, you get to even the score,

when our first banishment takes place at the round table.

It's your first shot at eliminating a dastardly traitor.

Enjoy your breakfast.

And I'll see you for your next mission.

Just one thing,

you should dress for a funeral, seems appropriate.

- Our first banishment tonight.

- Yeah, so we've gotta make sure we actually

banish a traitor and not faithful.

- We need to team up.

- How awesome would it be if we got it right the first time?

- If we nailed it first time, we'd be like "Yes!"

- That'd be great.

- I'm starting to have weird suspicions

about Loryn because she is so quiet.

I think she'd be a good traitor

because I don't think people would think she would be.

And Dan too, I think,

I got a weird vibe from Dan.

Just at the table, he was really not engaging.

So, I'm gonna keep a little eye on him as well.

- What a day, eh?

- What were you asking before?

- What a day to be alive.

(scattered chatting)

- I was surprised that Kimberly was murdered

because that showed to me that the traitors

actually thought of her as a threat.

- Did you not sleep?

- Not really.

- I slept really well.

- I'm not surprised by Kimberly.

- I am.

- [Dylan] What's your reckons on Kimberly, why?

- I just reckon it was a quick, rip the bandaid off.

Get rid of the psychic, it kind of makes sense.

- Get out, get out.

Because it could have turned into a festering sore,

having like someone throwing shit out there, right?

- Yeah.

- Even if you didn't believe in it,

someone who's gonna sit at the table and drop some names

and they might just happen upon one of yours,

like that's someone you wanna get rid of.

- It's funny because,

even though there's so many people left,

there's less people to be a traitor.

You know what I mean?

So now, that we know that the traitors are here

and they know each other...

- That's interesting, hey?

That's the thing that I'm really interested.

- Just watching,

watching, watching...

- Seeing who's hanging out?

Probably saying who's not hanging out together?

- Not hanging out, I reckon.

- Loryn's the one that's quiet.

I don't think she could be.

- I don't think we should underestimate Loryn, though.

- See, I thought,

that be having five things could either

work for me, totally,

Or against me, totally.

- Tip your vial into the cocktail

of the person you trust the least.

- Oh...

- What have you done?

- I'm just some middle aged mother

of four from the suburbs.

- If you're wanting to establish yourself as a faithful,

you might need to give people a sense of whether

or not there is another thing

that's kind of brought you here.

So, if you imagine you've got a police woman

and you've got these different people,

a police officer,

what is it that makes you someone

that would be in the game?

I think I would like

to find out if Robbie has a bigger story.

Something's just not floating right now.

- Oh, well try standing in front of a mirror

for 40 years talking to people.

- [Brooke] Okay, hairdresser,

oh, that's good.

- Yeah.

- You're right,

because you're reading people, you're talking to them.

- So you think people were filling up her vial

because they thought there was a mystery

that they didn't know?

- Yeah, people had said that over the course of the day.

- Mike said that to me, as well.

He said, "People are wondering,

what is a hairdresser doing on the here?"

I've got no idea what's going through people's heads.

I don't think all of the green things

that were put in my glass

were put in there because I was untrustworthy.

But it did kind of illuminate me being there,

which is probably not my intention.

- I have a feeling about two people.

It's Darth Vander,

or Robbie.

Yeah.

Just another demeanour change.

One thing that this game

or experiment is making me aware of

is that I'm very sensitive.

That I'm looking at people

and trying to not just take them at face value

but at a deeper level.

So the person that I potentially will put up

to get booted is Robbie.

Just because of the way she's presented herself

and the way that she talks and converses and looks openly.

She would be a perfect assassin.

- Boxing?

- Little bit.

(birds chirping)

- [Narrator] Our players are heading off on another mission.

They must work together,

traitors and faithful,

to win money for the final prize fund.

They have no idea what's in store for them.

- If any of you guys are traitors,

that's gonna blow my mind.

- Oh, it's gonna be so fantastic.

- Man, 'cause I was thinking about you,

but just chatting with you.

I just can't believe it at all.

- Well, well, well...

- I think I could tell if Dan was lying to me.

He's the person I know the most.

In my mind. he's a very good ally

to getting people out,

'cause he's the opposite of me.

Calculated and observational.

(suspenseful music)

- Do you reckon it would've been a better play

for Kimberly to just not say what she was?

- Yeah, well because that automatic,

"Oh, she's a psychic.

What if she's right?"

- [Robbie] She could have played a game

where she was out to confuse

or to shine a light on someone, you know?

- So, Robbie's nervously blabbering away.

- [Robbie] But you know what?

If she does call it then we were still right

to get rid of her in a way.

Do you know what I mean?

- So, she said that there was we

and there was murder.

So, those are the two words that I picked up on.

I think that's like one heck of a mistake to make.

(suspenseful music)

- Walking to the church,

literally the hairs on my arm stand up.

It's macabre.

- Welcome all to today's mission,

as we pay large to Kimberly

who was so brutally taken from us, overnight.

Rumour has it that Kimberly

has left a handsome inheritance,

and it's yours for the taking.

Here's how it will work.

One of your team will come

and join me in the confessional booth.

I will provide you with a verse from the bible.

Listen carefully,

I will read it only once.

There's a total of six bible verses,

that if correctly interpreted,

will point you to an item worn

by a member of our congregation.

For each item,

you'll be rewarded with $1,000.

I'll see you shortly for your confessions.

I can't tell you

how many fantasies this is fulfilling for me at the moment.

- It's scary.

It's a scary vibe,

but so super exciting.

- Let's ask who's going.

- [Robbie] Me, me.

I'll go hunt.

- [Julia] Go Robbie.

- I volunteered to memorise one of the readings.

I think the missions are a really good time

where you can observe people

in a different environment

than just sitting around having a chat.

- Have you any deeds to confess, Robbie?

- So many.

We haven't got all day,

just give me the reading.

- The verse you seek,

can be found in the book of Exodus.

- Exodus three, verse five.

- Then he said, "Come no closer.

Remove the sandals from your feet,

for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.

- We've got two.

- She's got no sandals on.

- No sandals on.

- [Justine] Just say it again though.

- [Dan] Remove the sandals from your feet.

- It's gotta be.

- Everybody else has shoes

or some type of footwear, right?

- [Anna] Check everyone.

- [Robbie] Go on,

yeah, lock it in.

- Happy with that.

I'm happy.

- The missions are a super opportunity

for traitors to appear as faithfuls,

as long as we are giving it a 100% all the time.

- Do you have something in there for me?

(contestants laughing)

- Oh no, have we gone too early?

(everyone cheers)

- It is also a good opportunity

to pick out the weak who aren't

as good in any given challenge.

And give people a reason to banish them.

- Woo, let's go.

- Right, while she's doing that,

how do bibles work?

- Forgive me father, for I have sinned.

- I'm sure you have, Vander.

Has it been a long time since your last confession?

- It has been decades since my last confession.

- Well, the verse you seek, my child,

is book of Genesis,

chapter two, verses 16 to 17.

- Here she comes,

here she comes.

- Genesis chapter two,

verses 16 and 17.

- Oh, here's 17.

17, yeah.

You may freely eat of every tree of the garden,

but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,

you shall not eat,

for in the day that you eat of it,

you shall die. - Has to be an apple.

- The apple, the apple guy.

Go, go, go.

- So, today I'm putting myself forward

because I want to show everyone

that I'm strong competitor.

- [Brooke] Make sure they definitely are apple socks.

- They are definitely apple socks.

And that I'm someone that they should keep around,

even if, for some wild reason,

they think I'm a traitor.

- Yeah, I reckon go with the apple.

- Apple?

Lock it in?

- [Brooke] Let's go, let's go,

lock it in.

- Do you have the silver bar?

(everyone cheers)

- The gospel of John,

chapter 15, verse five.

- I am the vine, you are the branches.

Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit.

- So anything I'm looking for?

I mean I feel like...

- Vine, grapes.

- Tree.

Tree branch.

- [Dylan] It feels like grapes or a vine.

What's on his hanky?

- Lemons.

- [Dylan] Fruit, it's fruit.

- You wouldn't say a vine.

You wouldn't call a it vine.

- A vine for lemon, no way.

- It is grapes, there must be some grapes.

- I can't see grapes anywhere?

- Okay, well it has to be the fruit hanky.

Have you seen any other fruit?

- [Brooke] That's the only other option.

- If it is anything, it's probably that.

- Okay, ask him.

- Here's our fruit.

- Don't have a lot of faith in this.

- Do you have the silver bar?

(everyone cheers)

- The book of Isaiah, chapter one.

- Even though you make many prayers, I will not listen.

Your hands are full of blood.

- Anyone bleeding out their hands over there?

- [Robbie] There's an option.

- [Anna] With a bandage.

- [Robbie] We got a sore hand in the front.

- I would go with that.

- It is the most obvious.

- Excuse me, darl,

do you have the silver?

(everyone cheers)

- The nursing child shall play over the hole of the asp,

and the weaned child shall put its hand on the adders den.

- Snakes.

- [Colin] It's gotta be that snake.

- So this snake?

Okay.

You locking it in?

- Locking it in.

- Please do.

- Do you have our silver bar?

(everyone cheers)

- The verse is first Corinthians,

chapter seven, verse nine.

- But if they are not practising self-control,

they should marry,

for it is better to marry

than to be af'lame with passion.

- All right, they're looking for some fire or some marriage.

- So, the last one was very tricky.

- [Justine] Check for wedding rings.

- You're looking for wedding rings?

And unfortunately we all,

we all got in our heads.

That's the wedding ring.

- [Justine] Yep, yep.

- There was two people with wedding rings on

and so that got confusing.

- It's that.

- I think so too.

- Nothing to do with flames?

And then there was gloves and sins

and flames and...

Shoes?

Feet? - [Loryn] This is a tough one.

- I mean I was just sort of like looking

for flames and wedding rings.

- To be af'lame with passion.

- There's no flames.

- Is it the rose 'cause of the passion?

Is that a rose sticking at the side of that woman's hair?

- [Anna] Yeah, there's a flower.

- Is that the rose there?

- [Anna] Yeah.

- Hi there.

Do you have the silver for us?

(suspenseful music)

- Oh, damn it!

- Boo!

- You know, it was a collective stuff up.

- Well done,

a fitting tribute to your fallen comrade, Kimberly.

And $5,000 has been added to the prize fund.

(everyone cheers)

- So stoked about adding five grand to our kitty.

We could have added six,

but we'll do better next time.

- However, you did miss one item,

the wedding ring.

- Aww.

- I'll leave you to celebrate

but don't let off all your fire crackers at once,

because I will be seeing you at the round table,

where you'll individually vote

for who you currently think is a traitor.

(host greets in foreign language)

- [Mike] It's banishment time guys.

- [Robbie] You know, I'm feeling sick about that.

- [Julia] Yeah, me too,

- We're gonna have to vote someone out.

- Oh, shit,

no don't say that. - This is the tough bit.

I did not look...

- Oh, no.

- Nah, I'm ready.

- Feels good to finish our first proper mission,

and we've done pretty well.

But I'm not looking forward to what's coming next.

- We'll only have to vote someone out

if we go back.

If we just take this car,

do a runner, we can avoid that pain.

- [Anna] No, I wanna.

Let's play the game.

(upbeat music)

- So, did either of you have anyone in particular

that you were sorta feeling?

- [Fili] Well, yeah.

- Probably Robbie from the top for me.

- [Fili] Robbie, I'm leaning towards.

- Chris is on my radar quite high.

- [Fili] Yeah, yeah.

- What does a villain do?

What does a predator do?

They hide in plain sight,

like a tiger, you know?

- It was a huge mistake today

for Loryn to not be heavily involved in the game.

That would've been something

that she should have been conscious of

and really try to form bonds today,

get involved, act like she's playing for the faithful.

- You having fun, Loryn?

- I am, I am.

- Who are you gonna murder tonight?

- Why would I do that?

I wouldn't have the heart to do that.

- Okay.

(suspenseful music)

- Right now, the traitors will be,

I presume, quite nervous.

'cause this is the first time

that they can be knocked out.

- Well, has anyone here asked anyone if they're a traitor?

- [Julia] Not to their face.

- Could be him.

- Yeah, could be you.

It could be me.

- Yeah.

- Could be Mike.

- Is it?

You'd make a good traitor.

- I think I would.

I think I'm going okay.

I don't feel at risk of getting voted off,

but I'm not underestimating any of the people in the game.

I think there are people that are extremely smart,

which is why I think I'll need to be more involved in,

really seeming like I want to find these traitors.

- I think someone made a slip up.

Robbie, when referring to Kimberly went,

"Blah, blah,

blah, blah, blah."

So, we made the right decision.

- [Robbie] We were still right to get rid of her in a way,

do you know what I mean?

- I don't know whether she meant it

as in collectively

or whether she meant it as "The traitors."

But anyway, I didn't know what to make of it,

but I certainly noticed it and so did Julia.

- Are you confident?

- No.

- Are you upset?

- No.

No, I'm not upset.

I don't wanna go home, that's for sure.

Bit nervous about tonight.

I think, just tried to sort of just be me today

and hopefully I'll be here for another day, you know?

That's what I really want.

- I just don't think Robbie.

- Yeah.

- Do you not?

- I mean I think it's too obvious.

- I'm rolling my eyes

and I have been all day at this pile on for Robbie.

I just feel like no one knows her,

so it's easier to jump to a conclusion.

- [Dan] Yeah.

- Now that I'm failing at identifying traitors,

I'm just trying to try to like go,

okay, if they were being dead obvious last night.

Kimberly called out Robbie

- And then you wake up the next morning

and Kimberly's gone.

(calm music)

* Ready or not now *

* Coming for you *

* I smell your blood *

* It'll be over soon *

- Our players are about to meet at the round table

for the first banishing.

* It'll be over soon *

- They will debate,

they will discuss,

they will be on high alert.

But here's the rub,

can the traitors go undetected?

Can they lead the players to banish a faithful by mistake?

Or have they blown their cover?

(suspenseful music)

- You've really got to now follow your gut.

Everyone's being too safe and too sweet,

but I'm not.

- I'm really feeling conflicted right now.

I have no idea which way I'm gonna go.

- My heart's racing.

The energy's shifted completely.

- It's gonna be really interesting

to see how people react to being accused.

- Good evening, players.

What a day you have all had,

you made $5,000 at the memorial.

Your total prize pool

now sitting before you is $10,000.

And remember the traitors contributed directly

to that prize pool.

They're here now sitting with you.

And this is your chance

to eliminate them from the game.

You will each get one vote

for the player you would like to banish.

The player who receives the most votes

will be ejected immediately.

So, who are the traitors?

Do you have an inkling?

Have your little minds been whirring?

I suspect they have.

Well, this is your opportunity to dissect the truth.

Who would like to begin?

- What about people who got a lot

of green in their drinks last night?

Robbie, you got quite a lot.

Is this a chance to defend yourself

on why you think you're the least trusted?

- I sort of feel like,

I don't know how to defend myself against that.

Dylan put the first green in my drink,

but I think the others were just convenience.

- Robbie, you said something today in the car,

which made me second guess your attitude today.

- Right.

- What was that?

What did she say?

- Well, it was just the terminology, you know?

About the decision making of the traitors,

rather than saying the word they, you went we.

And I freaked out when you said that.

- No, that was definitely

as a royal we sort of thing.

- Bear in mind,

Robbie is the person that most of us know the least.

- Yeah, I think that's part of why.

- [Brodie] I think what's happened is herd mentality.

- I have a question.

Robbie, have you got any ideas

who the traitor is or are?

- I've potentially got two,

but I think one's sort

of pulling ahead a little bit at the moment, yeah.

- Do you wanna share who that is?

Like all this conversation we've had,

the name that keeps coming up is yours.

- Yeah, well I cant help that.

- I'm not convinced that that's right

but I would like to hear some other options.

- Okay, well I'm gonna put Loryn down.

You just seemed to be out of sorts all day,

and I wonder if being a traitor

has possibly just tipped you a bit closer to

just being in a place you don't wanna be.

- I also will chip in on that, too.

I think that Loryn is such a sweetheart,

that she'd be a really good traitor.

- I mean,

I can't defend the fact that I'm kind and sweet

and caring and that's who I am, you know?

That's me in a nutshell, to be honest,

- My hunch was in the mission,

you seemed very fade in the backish

and and not as engaging,

so that was my hunch.

- Yeah, I am an introvert,

like outside of a group situation.

And I'm openly gonna admit

that I find it hard to communicate.

And I just wanna be in my own zone

and that is who I am.

Whereas, with my dance training,

we've been taught,

just be you in a group and be open

and be okay to talk and stand up for whatever.

Find out what you need to find out

and do whatever you need to do, really.

(suspenseful music)

- If we're talking about quietness,

today was the first time I talked to Loryn,

and I talked to her quite a bit.

So if your thing is quietness,

she wasn't unusually quiet to me today.

- Not necessarily quiet,

just probably more erring on the side of,

kind of, uneasiness.

- Loryn's a friend of mine outside of the game.

And I know you are a quiet person,

but I do think

there has been a bit

of a change in how I know you.

(thrilling music)

- We have to remember, we have been taken out

of our normal lives and routines.

Some of us adapt well,

and others not so well.

But that's part of the game.

- The time for talk is over.

Now you need to pick up your slates,

and write on it the name of the person you wish

to banish from the game now.

(suspenseful music)

It's time to tally the votes.

Please reveal who you voted for and why.

We will start with you Fili.

- Sorry Loryn.

You're the least engaging

but all of a sudden you started speaking up.

That was enough for me to change my original hunch to you.

- [Host] Kings.

- I went for my original hunch there,

which was also you Loryn,

nothing personal at all.

- [Host] Vander, who did you vote for and why?

- Chris, I voted for you today,

just with my observations about Kimberly.

I had to make a decision but it was you.

- [Host] So, that's two votes for Loryn,

one vote for Chris.

Mike, who did you vote for and why?

- I'm sorry Loryn, I voted for you.

- [Host] Loryn, who did you vote for and why?

- I believe that energy is truth

and from the beginning I haven't connected

or trusted this person.

So, the person I voted for was Dylan.

- [Host] Three votes for Loryn,

one for Chris,

and one for Dylan.

Colin.

- I let it be known

that this person I was suspicious of.

So I think we all know who I'm picking.

Darth Vander.

(contestants laugh)

- [Host] Julia.

- Okay, so tonight I am voting for you Loryn.

- [Host] Christen.

- You are so lovely, Loryn,

I'm so sorry, but you make the perfect traitor.

- I also voted for Loryn.

If I was in your position,

I would said categorically, I am not a traitor.

And because you didn't come straight out with that defence,

that kind of solidified it for me.

- [Host] Robbie,

- I voted for Loryn.

I really hope you're a traitor.

(suspenseful music)

- [Host] Dan.

- I also voted for Loryn.

(dramatic music)

- [Host] Dan.

- I also voted for Loryn.

I am feeling a little bad that Loryn's gonna go.

I know there's nothing I can do about it,

but we are here to win a game.

And at that moment in time,

best way for us to stay and win,

was to let her go.

- That was a surprise.

I feel like Dan's playing the game

and he thinks that vote covers him.

I mean, it's a little bit disloyal,

but I guess that's the game he's playing.

- [Host] Eight votes for you now, Loryn.

Matt.

- Colin.

(contestants laugh)

I'm just gonna throw something silly out there.

Get people laughing and then they'll move on from me.

- [Host] Dylan, reveal who you voted for and tell us why.

- Robbie felt like an obvious choice to me,

but it also felt too easy.

I was waiting to hear a reason to vote for someone else.

It felt like maybe there was a reason to vote for Loryn.

- [Host] Anna.

- So I'm really sorry Loryn,

I'm not bucking the trend.

- [Host] Brodie, who did you vote for and why?

- I know that you are the most,

probably, one of the most innocent people here.

And my God, that makes for a good traitor.

And my God, I hope I'm right.

- [Host] Brooke, who did you vote for and why?

- I'm so sorry that we are not gonna get

to hang out with you, but yeah.

- [Host] 12 votes for you, Loryn.

It looks like your friend's in a lot of trouble, Sam.

Who did you vote for and why?

- I am the unlucky 13th,

voting for my friend Loryn,

which I feel really bad about.

It's literally the only thing I've seen

that has given me any clue to anyone.

So yes, sorry.

- Loryn,

it was a landslide.

You've got the most votes.

Please come up here and join me.

(dramatic music)

Loryn, you have been banished from the game.

Before you leave the lodge,

it's time to reveal whether you are a traitor

or a faithful.

- Oh goodness,

I just wanted to say,

I've loved the last two days with all of you

and I'll truly cherish the time I got to spend with you all.

But,

I have been hiding a secret from you all.

And I am a traitor

(everyone cheers)

- I've got goosebumps.

(Brodie exclaims)

(contestants cheering)

- Can I get a hoorah?

- [Contestants] Hoorah!

- Hell yeah!

- This is so great.

(dramatic music continues)

- Oh, thank God.

- Well it seems congratulations.

For the faithfuls at least,

you convincingly banished a traitor.

At the very first opportunity.

Quite an impressive start.

I'll see you at breakfast, maybe.

Ciao.

- [Brooke] Wow.

- Oh, my God.

- Won't sleep easy tonight, though.

- I can't sleep now.

(calm music)

- You all right?

- Yeah, I'm good.

- That was tough.

That was tough, man.

But we got one,

we got a traitor.

I am feeling amazing.

I really hope to see you all in the morning.

It was heartbreaking to have to vote out my friend.

- [Justine] What a rollercoaster.

- But then to turn out to be right

that we got a traitor,

it was incredible.

It was like winning the World Cup.

- Night guys, sleep well.

Love you.

Goodnight.

Loryn going was pretty disappointing

because I like Loryn.

I thought she was gonna be good for us,

but she just didn't play it well.

So, I guess she wasn't a good traitor.

- See you, bro.

Good luck, sleep well.

- After the feeling in the room

and experiencing that round table,

I think the strategy for the traitors

has changed slightly.

So, watch out

- [Host] With the traitor's ranks disappointingly reduced

to just two.

The remaining pair are faced with a tough decision.

They can either seduce

and recruit a new traitor from the faithful,

or they can bide their time and commit another murder.

- So...

(Dan laughing)

- One and done.

- How did Loryn create so much suspicion so quickly?

They got a kill,

right out of the bat.

They're feeling good.

- That's when they're gonna be most vulnerable

to make bad decisions.

- Seducing has its advantages in that there's more of you,

there's more ears,

and you've got more of a syndicate.

The disadvantage is at that point,

me and Dan aren't really under suspicion,

but if you then seduce someone,

then everyone is back under suspicion again.

Is there anyone that we need to take out tonight,

that supersedes the advantages of having three of us?

- Is your preference to murder?

Deciding to go for a murder versus seducing another player,

I think, will kind of remind them that the game is afoot.

They don't have control over a lot of things.

- I think we murder and we keep shock happening.

I think we kill someone,

we kill a sacred little lamb.

So no one feels safe.

It seems better to hold the seducing card.

All right,

who we are gonna murder?

- So I think it could be Anna,

she's really well liked,

doing really well in the game.

That would shock a few people

and be upset if she got murdered.

- What about Chris?

Asks a lot of questions,

was throwing a bit of stuff around.

People don't really know what's going on.

She's definitely playing the game.

- And the other person I'd just throw into the mix

is probably Justine.

Definitely playing the game.

She has separated herself from emotion.

- [Matt] Yes.

- As far as that goes,

and that's always a danger.

- And seem to be orchestrating.

- Yeah, people were listening when she was speaking.

- So, who are we looking at here?

- [Dan] Justine.

Anna.

Chris.

- Let's kill her.

(thrilling music)

* Feel me *

No ramifications.

* So good *

* Feel me *

- [Narrator] Next time...

- Even though I tease her,

I don't trust it.

- [Narrator] The hunt for the remaining traitors is on.

- Where are you?

- You shake his hand and then you count your fingers.

- [Narrator] And everyone is in the firing line.

- I know some of them are lying to me.

You a traitor, Mike?

- You have a hung her out to dry for two days.

- I've got a huge target on my back.

- I lost all feelings of remorse for the faithful.
