[narrator] And Jamie, Trish and Suzanne were unable to complete the competition

and were sent to an elimination challenge.

- from the Outback. - That was close.

I'm trying to remember how many good things I did out here.

- This is a fig, yeah? - I'm getting you.

[narrator] The other camps scrambled to stock up on calories.

- Bugs. - Goddamn it.

[narrator] And some hunted bigger wins.

Matt and Laura's teamwork nearly landed a kill.

I just sent an arrow through a pig in Australia.

[narrator] But Patrick and Jermaine clash.

[Patrick] He's not listening to me at all.

I feel like I'm getting held back.

[narrator] And Patrick took on a risky solo hunt.

[Patrick speaking]

This is stalking your prey.

This is actual wilderness hunting.

[bleep]

When it comes to strength, hog's got me beat.

I can outrun that hog all day.

But they are masters of camouflage out here.

Uh, this pig in particular blends in with the bush really well.

Damn.

I have a feeling there's a challenge coming up,

and I could really use the protein

It's a bummer.

I really wanted to bring home the bacon.

- [Jermaine speaking] - [Cheeny speaking]

You see anything?

Yeah, I tracked that hog down.

- You tracked him down? - Yeah.

Where was he?

I ended up chasing him down to the river and got a shot off.

Missed about three inches over his back

at about 35 yards.

[Jermaine] Patrick doesn't know how to hunt pigs.

You do not want to educate a very smart animal.

They become hyper cautious where they were not before.

And I found a good fishing hole too.

And I think he's gonna come back.

[Jermaine] If he's coming to us,

we simply bide our time and wait for this animal to come to us.

That's patience.

That's hunting.

And he seems to be sticking close.

[Jermaine] To run up on a boar with a bow and arrow,

I mean, without stating the obvious,

going after a pig that size by yourself,

you can make better decisions.

I feel like my camp mates aren't taking me seriously as a hunter or a survivalist,

and it's starting to piss me off.

[Jermaine speaking]

[Cheeny speaking]

- [Patrick] What up? - [Laura] Hello.

- Can I sit here? - [Matt] Yeah.

Patrick has come over.

The man is about as easy to read as a one-paper book.

I hear him constantly talking.

So I'm listening.

We had a big boar.

I mean, Jermaine thinks that it's like 200 pounds.

I took a shot at night and missed.

I ended up coming up on the hog in the river.

Get a shot off, and I missed the back by like two or three inches.

- Oh, really? - [Patrick] Yeah.

[Laura] You're gonna be bummed if we head out of here tomorrow,

since you guys have made progress on finding... finding a pig.

Actually, if we head out of here and migrate

and get different teams, I would be happy.

Yeah, I'm just getting tired of Jermaine.

- You're not super stoked to be over there. - [Patrick] Getting annoyed.

[Matt] Jermaine is a little bit bullheaded

and has been absolutely driving Patrick nuts.

We're in a competition challenge.

There's no reason that we can't let that just smolder

while we continue our camp in a different strategy.

There'll be a revamp of some sort.

Yeah, I hope whatever it is...

...food comes with it.

Assets, rearrange, teams change,

new dynamic, new place.

[Kaiela] Didn't get much sleep last night,

and definitely feeling it today.

[Darrin] Uh-oh.

- Kaiela? - [Kaiela] What?

[Jamie] I see something.

Today you will begin your migration!

[narrator] The survivalists are instructed to pack up their camp

and meet along a dried riverbed

where they'll learn about their migration

and the next stage of the competition.

We get to start the journey.

[Matt] I know at this point, migration most likely

is gonna mix us up, which would suck

because working with Max and Laura has been absolutely incredible.

We've been crushing this challenge.

- Time to pack up. - All right. Time to pack.

[Jamie] This fishing gear has been an amazing survival item.

Just packing it up, keeping it safe.

You should carry the maggot farm.

- Maggot farm's staying with us. - [Trish laughs]

That's yours.

Just make sure we water up before the hike too. Drink what's left.

Oh, yeah. We don't wanna waste the drop.

Last One Standing is a whole different beast

from a regular Naked and Afraid.

One minute you're friends. The next minute you're competitors.

[Darrin] The adrenaline's flowing.

[Patrick] I am ready for camps to switch up.

I'm not planning on being vindictive.

I'm going to be opportunistic.

No individual can take me out of this competition.

Everyone's got their jerky, or if anyone has any left.

[Matt] I'm guessing somebody's going home today.

[Max] Yep.

[Laura] It's been days now since our last challenge.

We don't know what's coming, but we know it could be a separation.

It could be an elimination or any combination of those.

Your camps are now disbanded.

- [all groan] - Dude.

[Trish] I've gotten to like Jamie and I enjoy the way we tick.

But as a partnership, we have not performed the best of our ability.

So it'll be good to try to change it up

and try to find something else that works.

- Dude. - Oh.

- Miss you. - We'll miss you.

[Darrin] Our team's getting disbanded.

And that sucks, 'cause Kaiela and I have been working awesome together.

I mean, she is a beast out here in these competitions.

Before you continue, surrender all earned survival assets at the tree.

[Kaiela] Finding out that I have to surrender my fishing kit

is really upsetting.

It feels like it's something you won fair and square,

and now we're shaking up everything.

[Max] I'm surrendering the bow and arrow, rope.

I don't have anything.

The fishing assets, what's been feeding us

and keeping us alive this whole time.

So knowing that that's going back up for grabs is terrifying.

[Patrick] I lost my hide, my fishing kit,

and I lost my boat.

Three of the strongest assets in the game.

[narrator] Having given up all their assets,

the survivalists must now choose a scroll.

- Oh, here we go. - Come on lucky scroll.

[narrator] In a random draw,

competitors will be paired up for the next challenge

with a survivalist who draws the name of the same local wild bird.

[Kaiela] Picking a scroll to find out who my camp mate is

means that my fate is left to the gods.

Magpie.

- Magpie. Let's go. - Let's go.

Realizing that I'm partnered with Max is a huge sigh of relief.

He's got a great attitude, he thinks outside the box,

and I resonate with a lot of Max's survival skills.

[narrator] In addition to Kaiela being paired with Max,

Darrini and Matt will work together.

[Matt] When I find out that my partner is Darrin, I'm absolutely ecstatic.

His bush craft skills, along with my bush craft skills,

go hand in hand.

[narrator] Jamie and Trish will remain a pair.

[Jamie speaking]

[narrator] And Patrick and Cheeny will also continue on as a unit.

My man.

My first thought is hell, yeah, because Patrick is the Energizer bunny.

He has more juice than anybody else out here.

I'm so happy he's with me.

We're a good balance of stamina and bush craft knowledge.

I think we're gonna be in a good place.

[narrator] And Laura and Jermaine will compete together for the first time.

[Jermaine] I've never met her before.

I've never worked with her before.

Obviously, her reputation precedes her,

but I'm very confident with my skills.

So I would argue that we're super team.

Here we go, mate.

- You ready to rock this or what? - [Max] Yeah, for sure.

Okay. Cool.

- [Darrin laughs] - Yeah, glad to be with you, Bud.

- Finally. - God dang.

I've been trying to get on a challenge with Matt for, like, 10 years now.

It finally happened.

We're just gonna kick ass and take names.

[narrator] The newly-formed pairs will face an immediate test

of their bush craft skills.

Your task with your new camp mate

is to build an aboriginal Australian dome shelter

that can fit both of you inside.

[narrator] Following in the footsteps of nomadic indigenous tribes,

the competitors will construct dome shelters

that protect them from the Outback's punishing elements

and can also be easily moved as needed.

- We got this. Yeah. - Let's go.

Yeah.

[narrator] For the first phase of this challenge,

survivalists will collect materials before moving on to phase two,

building their shelters.

They must use at least 10 strong flexible saplings or vines

and three horizontal vine rings native to the Outback,

tying them together in a dome shape

before proceeding to phase three,

covering the framework with lightweight shingling,

leaving only a doorway opening.

It's stripping a lot of bark.

Yeah, I know.

To me, it's just building a wicky up.

I've built a lot of little wicky ups.

[Jamie] It's going to be interesting.

It's got to be some sort of dome shape, so...

[Trish] I'm nervous.

I've built plenty of shelters, but I've never built anything like this before.

[Laura] I have built a very similar structure to this.

It is a very common dome-like structure,

using saplings that's used all across the world in different cultures.

Tie it off in the middle.

And then we just build the dome all the way around it.

- [Kaiela] Okay. Yeah. - Yeah. For sure.

I'm thinking, like, probably has, like, paper bark

- incorporated in it. - [Max] Oh, yes, yes.

Feeling confident but wary.

Building a livable shelter in a short amount of time is incredibly difficult.

Once built, it must be packed and carried to continue your migration.

[narrator] In the final phase, the pairs must test their shelter's portability

by packing and transporting it across the finish line to complete the challenge.

And we have to get out of here.

The first three pairs to finish

will migrate to zone two with their new shelter.

[narrator] The first three camps will earn survival tools.

First place earns the choice of three assets.

Second place earns the choice of two assets.

And third place earns the remaining two assets.

There are three bows, two fishing assets, a hide, a couple other items.

We could at least get our hands on a bow.

We might even be able to get our blankets back.

[Laura] The last two pairs of survivalists to finish are not safe.

[exhales]

The four of you will stay behind at Red Bluffs tonight

and face elimination tomorrow.

I know how that feels.

I've been through elimination twice already. I need a break.

[Jermaine] So the stakes are huge for this outcome.

And the fourth and fifth place teams go to elimination.

[Patrick] I have been in first place or second place

in every single competition, and I'm not gonna be in the bottom.

- Your challenge starts now. - Let's go.

[narrator] The first step for all survivalists,

is collecting materials for their dome shelters.

- Okay, vines. - There's vines over there.

You want to get off some paperbark.

- Oh, you gonna be able to get all the vines. - Yeah, I'll get vines.

Right now, I'm grabbing our horizontal pieces

'cause these have less rigidity.

I need 10 lodge poles, essentially, that will curve over and make a dome.

And then I need three horizontal to go around the side

in order for me to attach paper bark.

That's good. That's good.

I once built a rock igloo.

Very robust.

Essentially used all this river rock to build a massive igloo.

And it worked out great.

So I love building shelters.

I'm trying to cut really, really large

sections of paper bark.

This paper bark, nice big pieces so we don't have to tie as much in.

I know I can trust Matt to get what we need the first go.

Hopefully, we can just get this shelter done in one go.

So the vines right now can be used to help hold everything together.

This is a poisonous vine.

This rubber vine is no joke.

The sap, it can cause skin irritations and even blindness.

[narrator] The milky sap of the rubber tree is highly toxic

and can cause severe burning,

blurring of vision and swelling of the cornea,

which left untreated, can cause permanent damage.

See about grabbing a couple of long ones over here.

Right now I'm looking for the longest vines I can get.

Watch out, Chris.

I'm glad Patrick's my partner in this one

'cause he has a ridiculous amount of stamina.

Think that boy has no off switch.

We're up against some pretty formidable teams.

Max and Kaiela,

Matt and Darrin,

Jermaine and Laura.

Talk about some strong folks, but I'm not here to go home.

I'm here to be the Last One Standing.

Okay, so I've got a nice big vine here.

I'm getting, uh, as much of this bark off as possible as thick as I can.

I've never done this before, so I'm as confident as anybody could be

who's never done something like this before.

I don't want to be in the bottom of this.

There's so much at stake, but it's anybody's game at this point.

[Laura] You think we're good on saplings?

[Jermaine] Yeah, I think we've got enough of that.

- How many did you get? - I got saplings and vines.

- Okay. - [Jermaine] If we can win this,

we will have three items that we can pick.

It's a big deal 'cause it kind of gives us

the what's up on this whole gig.

[Matt] Laura and Max, my friends for the last 10 days,

are now my competitors, and I know how they operate.

I know that they're tough. I know they're strong.

But I'll tell you what,

Darrin and I, we are absolute war horses, the both of us.

We know what it takes to win on these competitions.

The stakes are very high today.

You get to choose three assets if you're first.

That could put other teams out of the game for food.

We're gonna kick ass in this challenge today.

Definitely don't want to go through elimination,

especially with how much energy we're already exerting on this.

Tomorrow would suck.

[Patrick] Worst-case scenario is two out of the five teams

are going to battle it out in elimination.

That is something that I'm not prepared to do.

Right now I'm a little bit worried everybody here could win this.

I got to bring my A game and I got to send some [bleep] home.

[narrator] Competitors are in phase one of the Aboriginal Dome Challenge.

Right now, I'm just collecting all the materials of our aboriginal shelter.

Pretty much got most of it right now.

- How are you doing? - I'm pretty much done with the collection.

I have found a great spot to collect and harvest all the paper bark I need.

It's coming off in really large chunks.

I'm really happy about this.

We need a lot of this paper bark

'cause the shelter's got to be bombproof.

We can't have any holes.

- I got six of these, Laura. - I think we need more.

- [Jermaine] Yes, ma'am. - The vines don't work out great.

You want me to grab a couple more?

If you have different sized saplings in this kind of shelter,

then they're gonna work against each other

and the whole structure is gonna be fighting itself.

I am almost done with this big piece of bark,

and I'm rushing to Matt to help him.

I've never got to work with an amazing shelter material

like paper bark before

It's like having a tarp.

I look over and Matt has gathered all of the polls we need,

and I'm working on like, my fourth big piece of paper bark.

Hey, Darrin, I think I've got enough to start putting this together.

Okay. I'll get this big one undone,

- and then I'll come help. - [Matt] Roger.

Take my time. What I'm doing here is I'm going

straight across the apex in the middle.

I'll go across the middle, but that's gonna give me the perfect X

and everything's gonna start lining in place.

This is gonna create the structure.

My strategy right now is gonna be trying to get a solid frame.

[narrator] Matt and Darrin are the first pair

to gather their shelter materials.

In addition to being provided a vine ring on which to construct their shelters,

each pair has been given an equal amount of rope.

For phase two, competitors have to build the frame of an aboriginal dome shelter

using 10 saplings and three vine rings,

tying them together in a dome shape

before moving on to phase three, covering with paper bark,

leaving only a doorway opening.

Do you think we've got enough bark?

We'll just start getting this framework together and I'll start lashing.

I feel like Kaiela is a certified badass.

If I can roast one more tree here, it will be a good spot.

[Kaiela] Nice. You got some good pieces.

Time to get building.

[Kaiela] This shelter has to have a strong enough framework

to be able to hold up a layer of paper bark

that goes over the entire thing that shelters us

from the rain, from snakes, from the wind.

- I'm just gonna secure them in now. - [Kaiela] Okay.

And then we'll tie them in a sec.

First things first.

Instead of tying everything off individually,

I'm going around and I'm stabbing them into the ground.

The sand is really great for pretty much putting stuff down in the ground.

Okay, that's two.

This brings me back to my challenge in South Africa.

We just got to find thorns so we can pack in all these walls here.

Max has been a great mentor.

He's done this challenge so many times.

He knows it inside and out.

[Max] As a survivalist, I've always been confident.

Australia feels a lot like Africa.

Here, you have to test your skills every step of the way.

It's really all about trying to get 10 pieces

all the way around so we can tie it off real structurally sound.

- Behind you. - Okay.

Okay. I'll grab the sticks if you wanna start tying off after I put it in.

- Yep. Yep. - Is that cool? Watch out for your knife.

I haven't seen Kaiela except for at challenges.

So this is the first time we've had more than a sentence of a conversation together.

It's amazing that we're able to literally attack this thing like nobody's business.

[Cheeny] Patrick, how you looking, man?

[Patrick] Pretty good. What do you think?

I've got three big pieces right here.

One small one.

This is good. Let's go.

Start building.

We gotta get the longest ones.

The first thing we need to do is we need to start creating this dome.

Can you grab that one right there, the big one, the thick one?

- Okay. Gonna tie it to the door first. - [Patrick] Yep.

[Cheeny] So we grab one vine, we attach it to one side of the door,

grab another vine, attach it to the opposite side of the door.

Here, maybe.

- No, no, no. This needs to go across. - I know.

We're gonna have to lash too. I don't think it's gonna be high enough,

but I'll get the stick in just a second.

We need something that's gonna support the shingles.

We're trying to get vines big enough to be tall enough

to be part of the frame of this shelter

so that we don't have to use multiple vines.

- Cheeny, grab that long vine there. - [Cheeny] Yeah.

[Jamie] I really need to hurry right now.

Grab this paper bark and head back to the shelter building area.

This is good. This is good.

[Trish] We have everything we need

and we've got a pile of paper bark.

a pile of vines, and we're ready to rock and roll.

Well done, Trish.

Jamie, I'm putting some paper bark out around our rings

- so that we don't have to stand in the hot sun, okay? - Okay.

Oh, that's perfect.

It's the only strategy we've got right now

- 'cause the sun is so hot. - [Jamie] Okay.

[Trish] This heat is strong.

The sun is just scorching the ground.

It's gonna make this challenge really tough for us.

[chuckles] We're gonna build this shelter.

It's gonna be amazing.

We're gonna be protected.

We're not going to elimination.

Vines seem to be the most visibly straight thing.

I'm making a bit of a gamble here.

The rubber vines are, of course, like rubber,

but they are strong and they are flexible.

which might help in the construction of this shelter.

The saplings need cleaned up.

They need branches taken off.

- So this could save us time in the long run. - [Trish] I hope so.

[Laura] All right. How many we got?

- There's four here. - Are they pretty tall?

- Let me see. - They're all right.

- I think we've got enough on the saplings. - Getting a couple more.

- Okay. - Pretty sure.

Just a couple more.

This is the first time Laura and I have been put together.

I don't think she trusts me.

Plenty of saplings.

Laura, we are good on saplings.

Okay.

I've made a shelter like this 20 plus times,

and I just don't know what everyone else's experience level is.

Probably the saplings are gonna be too short, I think.

[Jermaine] Oh, we can connect them up top.

Not to worry.

I have that implant. Sweet.

- I think if you want me to just arrange them around - Yep.

[Laura] And then I can start tying.

I'm sticking saplings into the sand around the ring

so that we can get them lashed in.

You've got six there.

I'm not sure. Just, uh, I know we need a bunch more.

- Just stick one in. I'll tie it. - Here's seven.

- Eight is on. - Yep.

The way this structure works is you have two strong, tall, equal saplings.

They arc over and they're actually adding to each other's strengths.

They're working as a team to strengthen the entire thing.

[narrator] As the rings are tied,

the tension created keeps the shelter held together tightly.

Like, loop that under one of these.

Yeah, these may not be long enough is the problem.

These saplings are way too small to connect

and arc over each other in the middle.

They're not going to have that dome strength.

And actually, it's just gonna make more of the teepee structure

that we are not going for here.

[Laura] So this isn't, uh... This isn't tall enough.

- I gotta get some longer. - Tie this real fast.

I'm gonna hold it down. I gotta tie on it. Just tie it.

[Laura] Jermaine is trying to tie all of these

little saplings together at the top,

and I really don't want to tie it because all we need is to have

two strong saplings supporting each other.

[Jermaine speaking]

[Laura] They're two totally different sizes,

so we need, like, all in the same size or else it's gonna pull.

So I don't really know.

Tying them here is not the move.

Jermaine and I, we have completely different ideas

of how to make this thing work.

And I don't think his vision is gonna make this happen.

[Jermaine] Grab that side.

I see that everyone else has the right size saplings.

Things are coming together, and we have basically nothing.

Oh, [bleep].

This is so important for us to place well in this challenge.

are currently working on phase two

of the aboriginal dome shelter challenge.

They are creating the shelter structure using saplings and vines.

Matt and Darrin, and Kaiela and Max are currently leading.

The first three camps to finish will earn survival assets.

The last two camps face an elimination challenge tomorrow.

[Darrin] What is that? How many?

Cool. I'm gonna throw number ten in this gap right here.

All I'm doing is lashing up a quick tie on that.

[Matt] Once we have those ten saplings all bound up,

we now have to wrap it in vine.

- [Darrin] We're gonna need three rings. - [Matt] Yep, three rings.

What's nice with this kind of shelter

is the fact that you can build it easily,

assemble it, disassemble it,

and it's built with every material on hand.

The structure of this thing is coming into play.

[Darrin] I look up and I see my old camp mate Kaiela with Max.

I can't tell if they're farther ahead if we're farther ahead,

but I can also look and see that no one else is even close to us.

Rock star.

We only need three, so let's just go up high.

That's ten pieces all the way around, just taking shape.

I think we want the one right next to you.

It's all about making this thing as bomber as possible.

Even though it's so hot out here,

we're just making sure we have something

that can weather any storm that comes towards us.

[Kaiela] Once we have our saplings secured,

we have to get our rings around the edges for bracing and support.

I think everything's fine here. Let's go.

I keep looking over my shoulder to see where everyone's at

and I can see Matt and Darrin, who are absolute competitors, are pretty close

but we're neck-and-neck, it seems like.

Okay, perfect.

We need one more horizontal piece that needs to fit in here.

We have to win this challenge.

It's so important for us to have assets within this environment

'cause it's so harsh, inhospitable, and hard to survive.

And if we get first place, that means we get three freaking items

which puts us in the driver's seat.

And who knows what happens and where we're gonna go once we're driving?

[Patrick] Right now, it looks like everyone's moving pretty quick,

doing different types of things.

[narrator] Trish has gotten toxic rubber tree sap in her eye,

which acts like a chemical burn

and can cause permanent blindness.

It's burning, I can't see.

Rubber tree sap is like the equivalent

of putting Krazy Glue on your skin,

and that splashed into my eye.

[gasps in pain]

[narrator] The medic applies saline to flush the sap out of Trish's eye

to try and prevent permanent damage.

[Trish] If I don't stop what I'm doing right now,

I could have total vision loss.

And it's not something that I wanna play around with.

- I'm just worried about my eyesight. - [Emma] Yeah.

I'm trying to push this through and...

The medics are flushing out Trish's eyes right now.

and both survivalists can fit inside,

they can move on to the fourth and final phase,

packing up and carrying their shelter

like indigenous nomads before them.

the focus shifts to the multiple medical concerns

facing Laura, Trish, and Jamie.

[narrator] Muscle twitching, dizziness, and mental confusion

are core symptoms of heat stroke.

The body temperature spikes dangerously fast,

which can swell brain tissue, disrupting normal function.

Immediate hydration and cooling of the skin

are necessary to prevent a possible seizure.

I'm, like, super freaking out right now.

I'm worried about my partner.

I haven't seen anybody cross the finish line yet.

I saw Jamie just laying on his back,

and medics attending to Laura and Trish.

Right now, this could be catastrophic for their challenge, though.

And the heat today has been, like, extreme in comparison.

Excruciating.

Heat stroke kills people every single day.

I think I'm okay, it just knocked some sense out of me.

[Jermaine] At this moment, I don't know who's placing where or what.

My focus is making sure she's okay.

This has turned into a catastrophe of a day.

My neck hurts really bad.

it might have given you whiplash.

[Laura] Medic tells me that they don't believe I have a concussion,

but I can no longer move.

I'm hurting.

This is really scary because we're racing around during these challenges,

and our bodies are so exhausted and hot.

Could be a recipe for disaster for any one of us.

[narrator] Laura's heart rate is normal.

And with no signs of blurred vision or dizziness,

she can be cleared of the concussion.

That's all I was worried about.

[narrator] However, medics have determined

the impact from the branch caused whiplash.

Laura may experience neck pain and stiffness for several days.

There is still a little bit of stinging in there.

It's not as profound as it was previously, but I can still feel it.

[narrator] After flushing out Trish's eye with a saline solution,

her eyesight improves and pain subsides.

[Trish speaking]

[narrator] And medics determine she is safe to continue in the challenge.

But Jamie's symptoms from heatstroke persist.

[Trish] He's in a bad way. He's still not really making much sense.

He is, like, limp. There is nothing there.

All I'm worried about is he gonna be able to get up?

If Jamie can go, anybody can go. He's a tough mofo.

His core temperature is 104 degrees.

Systolic blood pressure is nearly 130

and he has an elevated pulse of 120 beats per minute.

[narrator] As the body overheats,

breathing and heart rate may become rapid and weak,

reducing blood flow and raising the risk of damage to vital organs.

[medic] We really need to get him cooled down, I think.

We've tried getting water and ice on him, but we've got the creek there.

This is a really dangerous place, to be honest, being out in the sun.

He needs to be seen in a hospital as soon as we can.

For Jamie's health and safety, he'll be taken to a nearby hospital

to receive necessary medical treatment.

the survivalists will begin their migration.

Due to injuries to Laura and Trish,

medics don't feel it's safe for them to migrate.

They, along with Jermaine, will remain in Zone 1 and set up camp for the night,

where medics will continue to monitor their health.

[Laura] I mean, survival is hard enough as it is,

but when you're injured it just ups it so much more.

will take their newly claimed items and their shelters

and migrate a half mile to their new camps in Zone 2.

and now we gotta drag our shelter back to our new camp location.

[narrator] Surrounded by jagged, sun-scorched basalt terrain,

Zone 2 lies in an open highland that intensifies heat

and offers little shade for the hot Australian temperatures.

All three camps are located along a river,

which provides opportunities to fish and hunt

its abundant population of deer and feral hogs,

bringing a protein source but also an equally large threat.

[Matt] We're almost there. [straining] Almost there, buddy.

- [Darrin] All right, ready? Drop it on three. - [Matt] Yeah.

To be honest, I don't think we can assemble this before the sun comes down...

and I immediately think strategy.

We have to gauge their strengths and their weaknesses.

Laura's got so much survival knowledge.

Jermaine would be a strong asset, just having more muscle.

But he doesn't have the same amount of days

And then Trish is the white widow.

Anybody on Trish's team is, like, either going home or is gonna be dealing

with some sort of, uh, elimination challenge,

so I think we try to stay away from Trish.

She's scrappy.

[Max] She's scrappy, but I want someone that's like,

we can communicate and work... work fast and work well,

and I've had that opportunity with Laura.

The combinations are... are interesting.

Unfortunately, I have some kind of whiplash situation going on.
