I'm a professional snowboarder,

and what I've learned from competing for 10-plus years

is if you want to be the best, you've got to beat the best.

based on their performance in previous challenges.

I've lived survival for over 15 years, and I'm a little bit addicted to it.

I was one of the first to do 21 days.

but Jeff and I are just getting warmed up.

So I'm going into this thing knowing that I know how to do it right

and beat everyone else in that process.

A lot of people might think that I have the hometown advantage here,

but it's not like this place is just gonna roll out the red carpet for me.

Australia is a beautiful country,

but we have some of the most deadly spiders and scorpions,

and they're the things that you're not gonna see coming at you.

I'm gonna have to fight hard, use everything I know and leave nothing behind.

Six challenges. Some of the most brutal locations on Earth.

Yes! Warrior woman.

Out of nowhere comes four sharks.

Get out of there!

But I survived them all with no tap outs.

I'm not as big as other people.

I might not have the same muscles,

but at the end of the day, Last One Standing is about the skill set you bring in.

I just had major surgery five weeks ago,

but I think my background as a stunt performer

gives me a unique advantage in these challenges

because I'm used to disregarding

whatever's going on with the body to get the job done.

On the previous Last One Standing...

I've got flames.

...my all-around bushcraft and survival skills

got me in the top three of a lot of the challenges.

There is no token about this female.

I came within one arrow of winning this thing.

Last time I came out here to prove that women deserve to be out here.

This time I'm getting that title.

I have taken more game than any one survivalist

When I went to the South African wildlands,

I dominated that challenge so much...

Getting the opportunity to come back, my strategy has refined a bit.

This is an elimination competition.

This time around, I don't think I'm gonna share all my knowledge.

I don't know who's out here, and I don't care who's out here

because they're gonna be going home early.

If anyone wants to win this thing,

they're gonna have to come through me first.

[Matt] First thing to do is I have to find a rock

capable of shedding sparks to light something on fire.

[Patrick] I grab whatever tinder I can with my hands.

There's snakes everywhere, but I don't care.

I would rather go out in a helicopter than go out in an elimination challenge.

[Laura] I'm working on my fire and I smell smoke.

And I see Kaiela Hobart has got hers.

Challenge on. I get motivated to go even faster.

[Jamie] Just get it in the water.

[Ky] I don't think I've got much time. Fine.

[Max] I gotta bring this pyre to fire.

[Laura] It's really hard. I'm a mess.

You can't panic. You can't stress,

and you can't let your own self-doubt get in the way.

Are we just gonna fight, or are we gonna chop a tree?

I'm Darrin and, you know, I'm the real deal.

As far as primitive living skills go,

I have been learning this my whole life since I was a little kid.

And trapping is the best primitive skill I have.

Rat number four. Pancake rat.

Crunchy, crispy rat kebabs.

I am so much more in tune to a wild environment

than a majority of the competitors here.

I've been bow hunting my entire life.

Yeah!

I was able to shoot a monitor lizard.

That's how we get some food in the bush.

I have molded myself into the perfect challenger for this contest.

It's about short, precise swings.

I'm always gonna give it my all.

Even if that means me getting hurt like I did on the previous season

jumping into a catfish hole.

Ow. Ow.

Somehow my testicle was ripped from my body.

The medics have to tap me out.

I will not go home as a quitter.

And I'm gonna push myself just as hard this time.

I've definitely got testicular fortitude.

I was so close to winning last year.

I would have been the last one standing, and I will be this time.

[narrator] Darrin is an expert in primitive survival,

but may lack the physicality to compete to the end.

[Cheeny] I know I'm strong. I've proved it time and time again.

I've proved it in the military.

I can do everything that any of these men can, and I can do it better.

I'm one of the few women that have made it through SERE Specialist training.

SERE specialist is an expert in survival, evasion, resistance and escape.

I've been trained by the military to survive

in every environment on the planet.

And you know, I might be small,

but I'm pretty strong for my size...

...and I have good endurance.

My legs are so tired.

I know that sound.

No better way to pick up a SERE Specialist than with a helicopter.

That's what I'm talking about.

I may be the smallest person out here, but I would say that's at my advantage.

I know I'm gonna be faster.

I just don't want to do this anymore.

I did something that I thought I would never do.

I chose to tap out and go home.

This time I'm not gonna quit no matter how bad it gets.

I believe in second chances, and this is time for me to give it another go.

I came here to win, and I'm not gonna stop until I get to the end.

[narrator] Cheeny's physical toughness and survival skills are elite,

but can she bring the mindset needed to take on the competition?

I'm coming in here the underdog,

but I think that gives me an advantage.

I do better when people doubt me

because it gives me that extra push to prove people wrong.

I grew up always trying to keep up with the boys,

and that has translated into my life.

One of my strengths that I have is fishing.

I grew up fishing, and I'm hoping that out here

it's able to help me win a challenge or feed me.

[Kaiela] I'm a super competitive person...

...and I don't give up on anything that I'm doing.

[Kaiela] Even if I know that there's people that are better than me...

...I will try and do something just to prove to myself that I can do it.

[Kaiela] My 40-day challenge in Colombia was one of the most

wild roller-coasters I've ever been on.

My partners left me by day five and then spent two weeks by myself.

And it was terrifying,

but it was actually one of the best things that could've happened for me.

Caiman.

Being able to survive by myself is gonna play to my advantage.

I know that I have the skills to be here. I know I'm here for a reason.

And now I'm here to be the last one standing.

[narrator] Kaiela H is self-sufficient and resilient,

but her primitive survival skills have yet to be tested in competition.

My strategy is quite simple.

I can't wait to get these clothes off

and get it on.

Jermaine has survived the fewest days

of any ast One Standing competitor.

really different this year.

each survival cache will be a test of bushcraft skills...

at every turn.

There are three items at stake.

There is a hide,

there's a rope, and there is a bow.

[Matt] Survivalists must bushcraft cordage

and a primitive hook

to retrieve a coil of rope

from the cliff's base.

So this is when we're strategizing.

[man] What's the best plan of attack?

What do we need the most?

Making multiple hooks so that we can decide

which one's going to work best.

[Patrick] I've got my hook done.

[Matt] And if we're anticipating

one play ahead of everyone else,

it might give us just the advantage that we need

to get not just one item, but two.

[man] Stuck up high

in a giant golden orb weaver spider web

is a bow and arrows.

Survivalists must craft a ladder to reach the web,

plus make a torch to burn it.

[Laura] I am jamming down pieces of paper bark in there.

You ready? You ready? Come on, let's do this.

[Laura] Hoping this torch will last long enough.

Here, set it up, set it up.

[woman] Don't look at them. We got it.

[Ky] Keep going. She might not get it

before theirs goes out.

[Laura] We're trying to get this ladder set up,

hoping that it's going to hold.

I look down, and I'm like, "This thing seems strong."

in one of the harshest environments

But I learned that I'm a lot tougher

than I thought I was.

My body is depleted of minerals.

My calcium's breaking down.

But I can't worry about it.

The perseverance that I had to have,

that made me strong today.

I have the endurance,

and I have the strength when it matters,

when you're stressed, when you're tired,

when you're hungry.

I can take on anybody in this challenge.

These guys out here,

they're about to find out who I am,

because I am going to be the last one standing.

[narrator] No stranger to suffering in the wild,

Trent's perseverance through difficult challenges

is an advantage.

He begins with a PSR of 7.9.

You can take every tool from me,

every asset,

but you can't take my brain.

My entire life, I've been training

From a very young age,

I had to take care of myself.

that I've been on aked and Afraid...

There's a wasp nest.

...I've been able to take

my skill set that I learned from being in Brazil...

that I learned in Africa...

...I can pull from those experiences

and overlay them here in this unique environment.

And on ast One Standing,

adaption is key to winning the competition.

But the human component,

that one variable,

is really unpredictable.

I've been with partners

that were a horrible hindrance to me

and my ability to survive.

and I will rely on my brain

to get me to the finish line.

[narrator] Suzanne's analytical style of bushcraft

has helped her survive previous challenges,

but her headstrong approach often clashes

with her partners'.

She enters ast One Standing with a PSR of 7.7.

It's confusing.

You find things you've never seen before,

sometimes things you can't explain.

That bit is massive. Like end-of-days bird.

like an average eagle nest would be.

It makes no sense.

It looks like something bigger

than even an ostrich would make.
