-Yeah, we do, and that's why we needed an edge

so we developed the waverunner rescue system.

You know, Mitch, it makes a big difference

between life and death out here.

Let's go down to the beach,

I'll show you a little demonstration.

-Looks like you modified a waverunner, huh?

Now we get to go places we've never gone before.

We get to go through shallow water

and we get to go through massive waves.

-So, it's just an extension of a lifeguard's own ability.

-Exactly.

One guard rides the waverunner.

The other hangs on to the sled

in the back of the waverunner.

Once they reach their victim,

the guard on the sled grabs the victim,

supporting him on the sled

until the waverunner reaches shore.

-How long does that take?

-A little over a minute, but we

constantly try to break our record.

When the victim's been under the water

in the spin cycle for several minutes

before we get to them, every second counts.

-Hey, right here!

-Yeah.

-Would you like to give it a try?

Hey, did I ever tell you the story

about the guy who went on vacation to Europe?

He's having a terrific time.

Well, after a while he decides to call home

and see how things are doing, right?

So his brother answers the phone,

So, the firemen climbed down off the roof

and start looking for the little kitty.

They finally find him in the bushes

and one of the firemen picks him up,

but the kitty doesn't look so good.

Anyway, they had to take the cat

to the vet,

but it was too late.

-Ah!

+they, uh, they couldn't save the cat.

Now that's how you break bad news.

-So the little cat died, huh?

Well that's certainly a better way of breaking bad news.
