I'm here with my friend, Lavinia Webb, who is the local bartenderist and

mixologist. That's right.

This is where we mix actual drinks from the 1800s for you to enjoy while you

watch your favorite episodes of Quick Draw.

My gloves are coming off. Yes, you're taking off. They're not really gloves.

This drink is called Sleeper.

All right. So this is how it works. First, to a gill of old rum. What is a

So you put some rum into your bucket.

Then you add an ounce of sugar. An ounce is quite a bit.

Then two yolks of egg. Not the white, but the yolk. That's how they did it in

the 1800s. They said, no white. We don't need the white. We want to go right for

the yellow.

All right. I guess women of your time had to cook quite a bit, didn't you?

Okay. Then you add the juice of half a lemon.

So you're going to squeeze it real good, just like Led Zeppelin says to.

Boil a half a pint of water.

Yeah, that's protein -y. All right, and then we're going to strain it into a

tumbler. By strain. You're just going to get the go off the top. She's just

taking the top off. We don't have a strainer. That was invented in 1892,
