Welcome to Personal Space, the first reality show shot in space.

We've lost contact with Overture, so today's show is going to be a little bit

different. We're going to take some time to answer questions about the science

side of things and share with you guys what we know about the situation.

First, let's address a couple of rumors.

Viewer AtDeadlyHealthsprout was the first of several fans to suggest it was

North Korea.

Kelly, what do Acteon scientists make of this?

Well, Stephanie, very good question. I think that tweet could be interpreted in

a few ways. I think they're suggesting that North Korea is somehow blocking our

signal, which is impossible because you can't fake or block a signal from

Overture to the Deep Space Network.

It's actually really cool because we have these receiving stations like all

the world. Well, Kelly, you sure are smart.

The signal can only be stopped by the source.

Which is Overture.

Right, but you could also interpret the tweet to be asking me, did North Korea

maybe blow it up with a bomb or something?

I mean, North Korea wouldn't be able to use weaponry to harm the ship. Nothing

could catch up to overture. I mean, the ship is moving. In layman's terms, it's

going. A few hundred, a few thousand football fields.

It's going really fast.

Well, that's a relief.

So you can stop asking us if the ship was blown out of the sky.

Yeah, blown out of the sky.

But there have been some other funny communication issues there, right?

She wrote me for several years, and then she slowed down, and then she stopped.

So, yes, yes, there have been communication issues on Overture before.

the ship is an old system, and old systems break, and Overture only has one

engineer awake to fix broken equipment.

Acteon, there would be no mission.

No ground control, no tech support, no 3D printed blueprints of new technology.

I don't think it's fair to judge what this company has decided to do to keep

these astronauts and this mission alive.

Pledge drives, reality shows, space porn, I really don't care. The end is a

permanent human presence in space.

That's all that matters.
