Lawyers from Hannecott Industries are
now in U .S. District Court filing suit

seeking $5 .3 million in damages against
the Los Angeles Tribune.

Now, this is not a nuisance lawsuit.

Now, on the front page of the Tribune is
a copy of a memo.

Supposedly written by me and typed on my
stationery.

Now, this is a copy of my real
stationery.

memo is phony in three respects.

First, the company logo is smaller.

The typeface is similar but not

I remember a classic whisper campaign
when Martin Decatur ran for governor.

a shoe -in, and then he lost.

A month before the election, Oster took
over the campaign against him. He had

one gimmick, and it worked.

A couple of guys were waiting for lunch
hour.

Then they go to the top of one of the
largest office buildings in Detroit.

On their way down, as the elevator
started to pick up people, two guys

start to talk. One of them would say,
Hey, did you hear about Decatur over the

weekend? I understand his wife caught
him shacked up with some secretary at

lakefront motel.

By the time the elevator hit the lobby,
the story was going all through the

building. Then the guys go across the
street to another building and start the

whole story all over again.

Before long, the story's all over the
city, and of course people believe it.

What's Decatur going to do, run around
telling everyone that the rumor about

and the secretary is a lie?

And that's the Astro Advertising
Company.

And you think that Folger may have
brought some of this philosophy into

Anaconda?
