Taken all the cash and they've made
off back through the cemetery

and back up Cemetery Road.

You'll also see that they've all got
hoods up, faces concealed. Identity
unknown at this time.

Sukie and Paula have done some work
on CCTV,

where they've figured out some
features on some of our suspects.

As you can see, one of them's got a
set of bolt croppers.

Jonny, make sure you wipe that down,
just in case.

I grabbed these this morning and I
didn't have my gloves on,

so I'm just wiping them down.

Jonny's partner at the heist was
fiancee Emma.

They live on a remote farm ten miles
from the town of Thirsk.

So, it's the morning after the
heist.

I think one of the comments on it
said

that the van had been taken by a
group of masked men.

Jonny and Emma's £50,000 share of
the stolen cash

is safely stowed in and around their
moorland farm.

The other thieves have hidden the
remaining £200,000 closer to Thirsk.

The thieves must move, hide and
spend their money.

However, they must give up their
cash if the detectives have enough
evidence to charge them.

are heading to York to start spending
their loot.

pulls off a heist and gets 25 grand

and then their main ambition is to

What we're looking at now is
something which we call passive data
collection.

There are cameras, ANPR, cell sites,
recording all the time,

and one of the things that we need
to do is go out and collect as much
of that as there is out there.

The detectives focus on the two
places they know the thieves have
been.

St Mary's Church, close to where the
heist took place,

and the barn where the cash was
divided, known as the Slaughter.

They start by gathering the phone
data from these two locations.

Macca, the cell dump data's in, so
you're going to be a bit busy now.

Can't wait, mate. Yeah, blast it

When your mobile phone is on, it
connects to a network, via a cell
mast.

The detectives have requested a cell
dump,

which identifies all phones that
connected to the mast nearest the
heist

and, shortly after, to the mast
nearest the barn where the thieves
divided the cash.

Any numbers found in both locations
could identify potential suspects.

The nearest cell mast to the
location of the heist has given us
2,000 hits,

and 5,000 results for a cell dump on
a cell mast that serves the
Slaughter.

Intelligence analyst Paul McAnulty
must now cross-reference these phone
numbers for any matches.

It's exciting, mate, if there's any
duplicates across both masts.

In the past, Macca's eye for detail
gained him a special commendation

for helping to convict several
murderers.

Brilliant. Guys, out of the 7,000
phone numbers we've got, it's given
us three duplicates.

Oh!That's three phone numbers that
have used both masts at the times we
gave.

I've not yet met a criminal that I

He lives 750 metres from the heist.

He could walk to the offence, so
this is significant.

We need to get some urgent checks

So, I'll have a look through that,
see who his friends are, etc.
