But what we like about it is it doesn't
separate deaf children from the rest of

My friend in college that I told you
about, she used sign language.

She felt she could be more expressive

These are kids who were born deaf, and

Why does she still have to come if she's
so good?

When you stop hearing your own voice,
there's a natural tendency to become a

little lazy in your speech. The
therapist sharpens those skills

combat that.

Lip reading is one of the most important
skills Nick will need to pick up. How

long does it take?

That's difficult to predict. These
children were born deaf. Nick will have

tremendous advantage having already
acquired a hearing and verbal skill.
