Pull harder!

When can we get home?

What's the matter?

The carriage has overturned.

The road is now blocked.

Young Lady,

we might not make it into the city before curfew.

Escort the other carriages first.

I'll be at the back.

-Yes. -Yes.

I think something is amiss.

If we stay here, we might be in danger.

What should we do now?

We'll take a detour.

Take a detour into the city.

Do you think you will be safe by taking a detour?

Li Weiyoung.

You just tricked yourself.

Once Li Weiyoung is dead,

no one will ever know who really saved Prince Gaoyang.

But Young Lady,

I still don't understand

why you told Prince Gaoyang not to tell anyone that you saved him.

At least, His Majesty and the Crown Princess should know about it.

If they do,

you'll surely be Prince Gaoyang's consort.

There are too many loopholes.

If His Majesty realizes that I deceived him,

I won't even get to live,

let alone become his royal granddaughter-in-law.

Therefore, this matter will have to proceed slowly.

Now that Prince Gaoyang is grateful to me,

he doesn't dislike me anymore.

Once Li Weiyoung is dead,

I'll make sure he falls for me after some time.

By then, he'll surely marry me.

Assassins! Watch out!

-Assassins! -Assassins!

Young Lady!

Young Lady, run!

-Young Lady. -Go!

Quickly!

Run!

Bai Zhi!

Young Lady, run!

Run!

Go after her! Quickly!

Isn't it the report that you want?

Take it!

Tuoba Jun, let go of me.

It's me that they want.

I'll never let go of you.

If you don't, you'll be killed.

Catch her!

As long as I'm here, I won't let anything happen to you.

What are you doing?

Go.

Tuoba Jun!

Don't be scared. Hold on tight.

Let's go.

Be careful.

Don't look down.

Come.

-Young Lady! -Your Highness!

-Lady Anping! -Your Highness!

-Young Lady! -Weiyoung!

-Lady Anping! -Lady Anping!

-Where are you, Your Highness? -Your Highness!

-Young Lady! -Your Highness!

-Your Highness! -Your Highness!

-Young Lady! -Your Highness!

-Weiyoung! -Your Highness!

Your Highness!

-Weiyoung! -Lady Anping!

-Young Lady! -Your Highness!

-Lady Anping! -Your Highness!

-Lady Anping! -Your Highness!

Could she already be...

Your Highness!

-Lady Anping! -Lady Anping!

-Your Highness! -Your Highness!

-Lady Anping! -Your Highness!

-Young Lady! -Your Highness!

-Where are you? -Lady Anping!

Your Highness!

-Young Lady! -Lady Anping!

Your Highness!

-Young Lady, where are you? -Your Highness!

-Weiyoung. -Your Highness!

-Lady Anping! -Weiyoung.

Your Highness!

Your Highness!

Weiyoung!

Your Highness!

Your Highness!

CHIYUN'S MANOR

Here is a toast to my cousin.

Once the news of Li Weiyoung's death is made known,

I'll express my gratitude formally.

What is there to thank? We're family.

When you become the empress of the next reign,

don't turn me down when I ask favors of you.

Whatever you ask of me,

I'll be happy to oblige.

General.

General.

General, bad news.

Prince Gaoyang fell off the cliff with Lady Anping when he tried to save her.

Useless scum!

Why would Prince Gaoyang fall off the cliff?

How did that happen?

It happened so suddenly.

I couldn't hold him back in time.

Convey my orders.

Search thoroughly.

You must find Prince Gaoyang.

If not, bring your head to me!

Yes!

A bunch of incompetent fools!

Calm down, General.

Fortunately, we sent out the Chiyun family's suicide warriors.

None of them will reveal a word of the Chiyun family's secrets.

You're right.

Even if His Majesty investigates,

he won't be able to get anything on me.

This already happened.

Are you actually avoiding responsibility?

I told you to kill Li Weiyoung.

How did Prince Gaoyang get involved?

Give me back my Prince Gaoyang!

Give me my prince back!

Be respectful.

Put down the sword.

If not, you'll be sorry.

Stand down.

General.

Changle.

We're not certain that Prince Gaoyang is in danger.

Even if he is dead,

it might not necessarily be bad for you.

What do you mean?

Changle, think carefully.

Is it the position of empress you want or is it just Tuoba Jun?

If it's just Tuoba Jun,

by all means, kill me with this sword.

If you wish to become the future empress,

who is to say that Prince Dongping or Prince Nan'an isn't the best choice?

Once Tuoba Jun is dead,

the competition to become the heir apparent will be more obvious.

You just have to seize the right timing

and choose the best prince to marry.

Then becoming the empress...

Wouldn't that be a piece of cake?

The sword...

is a man's weapon.

Changle.

You should learn to use

a woman's only weapon.

No.

No.

Prince Gaoyang won't die.

Prince Gaoyang won't die.

Jun.

My Jun.

I don't believe that.

I don't believe my eldest grandson would die so easily.

Before I see his corpse,

there is no way I will believe this.

Send men out to search for him!

Yes, Your Majesty!

Calm down, Your Majesty.

Please take care of your health.

Investigate the background of the assassins.

I'll have them and their mastermind torn to shreds!

Weiyoung...

-Weiyoung. -Lady Weiyoung.

Weiyoung.

When she set out, everything was fine.

Who knew this would happen to Weiyoung?

Aren't you skilled in martial arts?

Why couldn't you protect your lady?

Why should we keep such a useless servant?

Servants!

That's enough.

-Mother. -Stop it.

Weiyoung.

Whose death are you mourning?

Is it confirmed that Weiyoung is dead?

Did we see her corpse?

Why are you crying?

If you have the energy for that,

you might as well think of how we can search for Weiyoung.

Old Madam.

Servant.

-Present. -Convey my orders.

Send our men to search for Weiyoung and Prince Gaoyang.

Bring them back alive.

If not, bring back their corpses.

Yes.

Old Madam.

They fell off such a high cliff.

Wouldn't it be strange if they survived the fall?

Moreover, under that cliff,

there are many wild beasts.

If their corpses aren't found,

-that's also-- -I don't care.

Unless I see her corpse,

no one can make me believe that Weiyoung is already dead.

Old Madam.

I'll search for my lady right away.

If she really is dead,

I'll surely return to seek punishment.

I won't go on living.

If we let you go now, will you really return?

If I truly wish to leave,

no one can keep me here.

You...

All right, that's enough.

I believe in your loyalty to Weiyoung.

I hope you can bring Weiyoung home safely.

I won't let Old Madam down.

Changle, think carefully.

Is it the position of empress you want or is it just Tuoba Jun?

Young Lady.

It's time for your meal.

Young Lady.

Since the Prince's accident,

you haven't eaten or drunk anything.

If this continues, your body won't be able to take it.

I won't have any appetite unless His Highness returns safely.

His Highness will survive this.

Tan Xiang.

I really can't figure it out.

How is Li Weiyoung better than me?

His Highness would actually risk his life for her.

I finally managed to win over a bit of his sympathy.

It's now ruined by Li Weiyoung again.

Step out.

I would like to be left alone.

Yes.

Gods above.

Please bless His Highness with a safe return.

What's wrong, Weiyoung?

I'm all right.

Here, get some rest.

Are you hungry?

I'll get you some food.

Tuoba Jun.

Wait here.

Tuoba Jun.

You're so kind to me.

But I just keep getting you hurt.

Can you stop being so nice to me?

Perhaps...

We were never meant to be together.

I'm sorry.

I can't drag you down with me again.

-Your Highness! -Your Highness!

-Lady Anping! -Your Highness!

Search thoroughly!

Look over there!

-Your Highness! -Your Highness!

-Lady Anping! -Your Highness!

-Your Highness! -Your Highness!

-Lady Anping! -Lady Anping!

-Your Highness! -How is it? Did you find them?

There is no sign of His Highness.

He clearly fell off the cliff.

But there is no one down here.

-If we still can't find Prince Gaoyang, -Lady Anping!

don't think we can keep our lives!

The river is rapid.

Could they be downstream?

The river divides into two branches in the front.

We shouldn't waste our time here.

Let's search downstream.

You're right.

How about this?

I'll send my men to seek reinforcement from the local bureau.

Those from the Prime Minister's manor can help with the search.

-Sure. -Sure.

Go and get more help.

-Yes. -Yes.

The others, come with me.

-Yes. -Yes.

Jun Tao, I'll search in the woods.

-Yes. -Okay.

Your Highness.

Why have you summoned me?

I need you to send all of your men to search for Lady Anping.

Your Highness.

The Khan has written.

He ordered you to return with me.

Didn't you hear what I said?

The Khan learned of your current post.

He is very angry about it.

How could you bow to anyone when you're of such noble standing?

If you refuse to return with me,

please forgive me for not obeying your orders.

Are you threatening me?

I dare not do so.

This is the Khan's command.

Fine.

As long as you can bring Weiyoung back,

I'll go with you.

Your Highness.

We, the Rourans, value our promises more than our lives.

Do you mean what you said?

Should I go back on my word,

I shall be condemned by the gods.

General.

We've been trying to persuade His Highness but to no avail.

Now that he is willing to come with us for the sake of Lady Anping,

it seems that she means a lot to him.

Do as His Highness instructed.

Then...

Investigate Lady Anping.

Yes.

-Your Highness! -Lady Anping!

-Your Highness! -Lady Anping!

-Your Highness! -Lady Anping!

Lady Anping!

Your Highness!

Your Highness!

If they floated down from upstream, they should end up here.

Split up and search.

-Yes. -Yes.

Jun Tao, how is the search?

I have sent more men to look for Weiyoung and Prince Gaoyang.

I believe we'll hear from them soon.

Let's search this area.

Split up and search.

They should be up ahead.

Weiyoung!

You're out of pawns.

Your Highness is a better player.

I admit defeat.

It's not that I play better than you.

You're distracted.

Tell me.

What's troubling you?

I wonder if Weiyoung managed to escape unscathed.

I thought you were just using her.

I didn't expect you to care.

Your Highness.

All these years,

apart from my own mother,

Weiyoung is the only one who truly treats me well.

I don't want her harmed.

I see.

You do have a soft spot at times.

Did I surprise Your Highness?

You did give me quite a few surprises.

However,

you're the one who is the perfect match for me.

Your Highness.

Do you know that I've been waiting for this moment all these years?

I'm still curious about one thing.

What is it?

If...

If Li Weiyoung becomes a threat to you,

what will you do?

Your Highness.

A strangler fig gets rid of everything in its way.

Doesn't it?

Weiyoung!

Weiyoung!

Weiyoung.

Where are you going?

Didn't I tell you to wait for me?

Let go of me.

Stay out of this.

How can I?

So many assassins are after you.

I have to protect you.

Who asked you to do that?

Haven't you been hurt too many times?

Will you only stop until you're killed?

Let go of me.

Even if it means risking my life,

I won't let go of you.

What's wrong?

Are you hurt?

Weiyoung.

You do care about me.

Why do you pretend to be heartless?

What are you hiding from me?

You know who those assassins are, don't you?

During the banquet,

you were the masked dancer who appealed to my grandfather.

And that report,

what was it about?

All this time...

Who regards you as a thorn on their side

and is coming up with ways to kill you?

What other secrets do you have? Tell me.

Can you stop making me worry?

What do you want me to do to make you give up?

I'll never give up on you.

Fine.

You want to know, don't you?

I'll tell you right now.

Those assassins

were sent by Chiyun Nan.

Chiyun Nan?

Why does he keep going after you?

Do you remember when Chiyun Rou doubted my identity?

They were right to doubt me.

I'm not the Prime Minister's daughter.

I'm not Li Weiyoung.

Who are you?

I'm the wanted princess of Northern Liang.

The so-called ungrateful rebel,

the princess of Northern Liang.

But the truth isn't like what they say.

My father never staged a coup.

It was Chiyun Nan's scheme.

He wanted the iron ore mine in our land for himself.

He kept it from His Majesty.

Desiring military merits and the Liang Province,

he framed my father for staging a coup.

He killed my entire family brutally.

My father and grandmother were all killed by Chiyun Nan!

That report had documented his crimes.

I was going to use it to expose him during the banquet!

Your loving and respectable grandfather destroyed Liang.

Your soldiers destroyed my home.

My family can't rest in peace.

My people are living in hell, Tuoba Jun.

How can I possibly accept your feelings?

How can I fall in love with you?

Weiyoung...

I hate Chiyun Nan.

I hate the Wei Kingdom.

I hate your grandfather.

I've deceived you from the very beginning.

I've been using you.

Do you understand?

I've never loved you.

So I hope to have nothing more to do with you from now on.

Tuoba Jun.

It's over between us.

She is over there. Catch her!

Quick!

-Quick! -Stop right there!

Stop right there!

Tuoba Jun.

We meet again so soon.

I forgot to tell you.

You can't shake me off.

Is this even the time to say that?

Leave this place quickly.

They will catch up soon.

Weiyoung.

Let's go. Why linger here?

Hang in there, Tuoba Jun.

There is a hut.

Let's get inside first.

I'm so sleepy.

What's wrong, Tuoba Jun?

Tuoba Jun!

-Your Highness! -Lady Anping!

-Search well. -Your Highness!

Your Highness.

-Focus. -Lady Anping!

-Lady Anping! -Your Highness.

This belongs to His Highness.

He must have been here.

He is definitely alive.

Let's go!

-Yes. -Yes.

Prince Gaoyang went all out to protect her.

I hesitated and therefore, Lady Anping...

Did you hurt Prince Gaoyang?

His Highness risked it all to protect her.

We had no choice but to--

I don't keep useless subordinates.

I wonder if Prince Gaoyang is okay.

Changle, you're so devoted.

It's a shame that Prince Gaoyang cares only about Li Weiyoung.

I would advise you to reconsider.

Don't waste your affection on the wrong man.

As long as Li Weiyoung is dead,

I'll surely be able to win Prince Gaoyang over.

It seems that between Prince Gaoyang and the title of the empress,

you've chosen the former.

No.

Prince Gaoyang and the title of empress...

I want them both.

His Majesty is already old.

Prince Gaoyang is his favorite.

Once I become Prince Gaoyang's consort,

I surely won't let the Chiyun family

and you down.

General.

Prince Nan'an had this letter delivered.

Prince Nan'an?

CHIYUN NAN

Have you found Jun?

Your Majesty.

We've found some traces left behind by Prince Gaoyang.

We can confirm he is still alive.

It's just that we don't know where he is right now.

We'll keep searching.

Your Majesty.

Please keep sending your men to look for Jun.

Jun is my eldest grandson.

How can I not be anxious?

I've ordered the Governor to search well.

Didn't Lady Anping fall off the cliff with Jun?

Is there any news about her?

Your Majesty.

Lady Anping

should be with His Highness.

-General. -General.

General, please have a seat.

Do you have the report?

This is this year's newly brewed plum liquor.

Why don't you have a taste?

No, thank you.

I'm not in the mood to drink.

What does Your Highness want?

General, you have courage and insight.

You're valiant and smart.

I...

I've looked up to you for some time.

But I didn't expect you to be so ambitious.

I don't understand what you mean.

General.

Why bother acting ignorant?

Unauthorized mine exploitation is punishable by death.

General, you have military power.

It's obvious that you're planning to stage a coup.

If His Majesty finds out,

it will get your whole clan executed.

Looks like you are now in the mood to drink with me.

I would suggest that you turn over the mine soon.

If so, I can still cover up for you,

the fact that you framed the royal family of Liang for treason.

Cheers.

Everyone assumes that Your Highness is loyal to Prince Dongping.

But I never dared to underestimate you.

Now that I've seen you today,

Your Highness is indeed not as simple as everyone assumes.

In the royal family,

which of us is who we seem to be?

Indeed.

I know what you seek.

You just want the support of the Chiyun family.

You wish to have a higher chance of winning the throne.

I do think highly of the Chiyun family's influence.

However, even without your family's support,

I'll still stand undefeated.

The Chiyun family might be a century-old aristocratic family,

but

only when you choose to side with the right ruler

can your family continue to prosper.

Can I trust Your Highness?

General.

You don't have a choice.

Even if you have the report and we pledge allegiance to you,

it won't be enough to solve the crisis the Chiyun family is facing.

How is that so?

It's because of Li Weiyoung.

Li Weiyoung?

She is not the real Li Weiyoung.

Her true identity is the princess of Northern Liang.

If Your Highness can get rid of the princess of Northern Liang,

the Chiyun family

will pledge allegiance to you.

You're awake now?

I feel strange. Why was I so...

Why was I so sleepy just now?

I fell asleep while walking.

What was that about?

Are you sure you were just sleepy?

I think you were in pain.

You don't know how much pain you were in while you were sleeping.

Do you know how much pain you were in?

I...

How do you feel now?

Are you feeling better?

It hurts.

It hurts so much.

Are you still going to leave?

Weiyoung, I know.

You've struggled to get through all this while.

It wasn't easy for you.

From now on, I won't let you suffer all alone.

I'll stay by your side.

I will never leave you.

You already know who I really am.

You know that I was using you.

I lied to you.

Why are you still so kind to me?

I don't care who you are.

All I know is that you're the one I love.

Even if you use me, I'm willing to be used.

Tuoba Jun, I'm not worth it.

Worthy or not...

I know it very well.

-But-- -No buts.

Weiyoung, do you still remember?

During the incident with another fake Weiyoung,

I told you that for no reason, I simply trust you.

Even to this day,

I still believe it was Chiyun Nan who framed you.

Don't worry.

I'll find the report and expose Chiyun Nan.

I'll help you free your people from slavery.

Weiyoung, you...

Don't you trust me?

Tuoba Jun--

In terms of the nation, Chiyun Nan is too ambitious.

If we don't get rid of him soon,

he will be a threat to our kingdom.

In terms of personal reasons,

he did so much harm to you.

I cannot tolerate him.

No, you must not get yourself involved anymore.

Chiyun Nan will use extreme measures.

Once you pose a threat to him,

he won't let you off, even if you're the royal grandson.

Look at your injuries.

That's the best proof.

Enough.

I know you're worried about me.

But...

I've made up my mind.

Do you think I'm someone who is afraid of hardship and danger?

After I expose Chiyun Nan and clear your father's name,

I'll ask Grandfather for two favors.

The first is to ask Grandfather

to bestow us a marriage.

Secondly, I'll ask Grandfather to grant me permission

to take you and my mother away from Ping City.

We'll leave all these troubles behind.

We'll lead a simple and happy life.

Leave Ping City?

But you're His Majesty's favorite grandson.

Are you really willing to give up your title?

My uncles are fighting over the throne.

If I have to stain my hands with the blood of my kin to take the throne,

how can I be interested in it?

Weiyoung.

All I wish to do is to spend my life with you.

Travel the world together.

I'll do all I can to make you happy forever.

I'll cherish you.

I'll cherish you more than my own life.

Why is there a fool like you in this world?

That's why.

Since I'm such a fool for you,

promise me that you'll trust me.

Don't push me away again.

Work hand in hand with me to strive for our future.

Okay?

PRIME MINISTER'S MANOR

We've searched for three days.

There's still no news.

It will be extremely strange if anyone survives such a fall.

Old Madam is simply in denial.

Honestly, I do hope that Weiyoung is well.

That she is safe and sound.

However, let's look at it from a different perspective.

Now that Li Changle is disliked by Master Li

and Li Weiyoung has fallen to her death,

who else in the Li family can stand in your way?

Changru.

We've finally made it.

I believe that from now on,

you'll surely soar up the ranks.

Mother, how can you be so sure?

INVITATION

What is this?

Consort Lu sent this invitation over.

It was supposed to be delivered to Old Madam.

I intercepted it.

Consort Lu?

Isn't that Prince Nan'an's mother?

Exactly.

Consort Lu's birthday is around the corner.

Prince Gaoyang is still missing.

She can't host a big event.

She only invited some ladies in Ping City to have a chat in the palace.

It's obvious that she is selecting a consort for Prince Nan'an.

I'm afraid that Old Madam is still upset.

She might turn down the invitation.

That's why I intercepted it secretly.

Changru.

You usually don't get to attend such events.

This time, you have to seize the opportunity.

Understand?

Rest assured, Mother.

PRINCE NAN'AN'S MANOR

Lady Changru, please wait here.

The Prince is in his study.

Allow me to inform him.

Don't bother.

I've made an appointment with His Highness.

I'll head over there alone.

But...

You better think it through.

Lady Changru is Prince Nan'an's guest.

If you offend her, you'll be in trouble from now on.

Yes.

Let's go.

If His Highness knows that you made these snacks,

he will be very pleased.

Let's hope so.

His Highness has acknowledged you.

After you visit Consort Lu,

your marriage to His Highness will then be decided.

Young Lady, I congratulate you in advance.

How can it be as soon as you said?

Although His Highness acknowledged me,

I still can't figure out what his attitude means.

Young Lady, you're clever and pretty.

You're also very faithful to Prince Nan'an.

Which other ladies in the world can be a better match for Prince Nan'an?

Look at you.

Let's hurry along.

Let's go.

YOUR HUMBLE SERVANT, MA JUN

Congratulations, Your Highness.

With this report,

the Chiyun family is in your hands.

From now on, they will have to obey your command.

I thought I was the only one who knew of Li Weiyoung's true identity.

I didn't expect Chiyun Nan to know that she is the princess of Northern Liang.

Your Highness.

The tattoo on that Liang slave verifies him as a royal secret guard.

Chiyun Nan must have found out about it.

It's just that one of General Chiyun's conditions

is to kill Lady Anping.

How will you handle this?

Your Highness.

Although you admire Lady Anping,

she rejected your offer several times, not knowing what's good for her.

The Chiyun family wields military power.

They can assist Your Highness.

How about...

Do I need you to tell me what to do?

Forgive me.

Step out.

Yes, Your Highness.
