accident was completely wiped from Will's memory.

memory lapse last? >> Will: Maybe a minute or two,

and then little by little, I started remembering again.

>> Rex: Okay, well, I mean, that's not uncommon for someone

with a tumor like yours. >> Will: Hmm.

Rex, I--I know the radiation didn't shrink my tumor, but is

it growing? Is that why my symptoms are

getting worse? What is happening to me?

>> Rex: Well, I--I can't imagine what you're going through.

I'm sure it's very scary. But a side effect of radiation

is cell death. And with that comes associated

swelling and then temporary, noticeable symptoms.

>> Will: You didn't answer my question.

Is my tumor growing? Is "swelling" the same as

"growing"? >> Rex: No, it's not.

There's no evidence of tumor growth.

>> Will: Okay, yeah, I swear if I lose my memory again, I

don't... >> Sonny: Will, you just have to

take one step at a time. >> Will: No, no, that is one

thing that I'm not gonna be able to handle.

>> Rex: Okay, look, look, brief, short-term memory loss is very

different from what you experienced in Memphis.

And you're not gonna forget who you are.

She loves you. And she understands that you

really wanted what was best for Holly.

pretending that I'm so innocent in this.

>> Eric: No, I'm not. I'm a big reason why Holly's

dead. Why would Nicole ever forgive

me? Because I'm not sure I can even

forgive myself.

honest, what I needed you to do, what I needed someone--

anyone to do--was keep daughter safe.

>> Sarah: Nicole, you know how much I loved Holly.

Chloe, Eric, your family. No one protected her,

She was the light of my life. She was my life.

I never thought I'd be blessed with a child

with all the longing and the pain and the loss,

but then there she was, my...my little miracle,

my Holly. And to think that she was taken

from this Earth so soon. And when it did end for her,

she was terrified, and it didn't have to happen, and it happened,

because no one cared enough to protect her.

indefensible, because Brady was the only one sounding the alarm,

and no one listened to him. No one listened to him, and

guess what. My daughter is dead.

out on your own terms before Uncle Victor decides to fire you

been through so many battles. Why would you want to put her

dismissed Brady, what he was thinking, you know,

because I was too obsessed that he had an ulterior motive?

>> Marlena: No. You have always wanted what was

best for Holly. I mean, you told me how happy

she was to be with Parker, how much she loved being part of the

family. >> Eric: But happy and safe are

not the same thing. >> Marlena: You did the best you

could based on the information that you had at the time.

We loathe and detest each other with every cell in our

kidnapped and then later killed. I mean, I think you guys are off

that mean exactly? >> Kayla: Well, given the

failure of the first radiation treatment to shrink your tumor,

I wanted to work on refining your treatment plan,

so I asked a pathologist to send me over the biopsy results so

that I could go over them myself and make sure that the

diagnosis was accurate. >> Will: Are you saying that I

might have cancer after-- >> Kayla: No, no, no,

absolutely not. The tumor is benign.

>> Sonny: Okay, but you are saying there--there's something

that was missed. >> Kayla: No, not missed

exactly, but the pathologist did have trouble classifying this

particular subtype of tumor. He said it was nothing he'd ever

seen before. >> Will: So I have a unique

tumor. >> Kayla: The tissues contained

traces of a very rare chemical compound that I have only seen

once before. >> Sonny: And when was that?

>> Kayla: The compound was in the serum that you took to get

your memory back.

[tense music] ♪ ♪

>> Will: Are you saying that the drug I took to get my memory

back gave me the brain tumor? >> Kayla: I can't say

definitively, and I don't know if we ever will be able to,

but with any experimental drug, there would be unforeseen side

effects. >> Sonny: Side effects?

What's the bottom line here, please?

If this drug caused the tumor, then what does that mean for

Will's treatments? >> Kayla: It's just possible

that this tumor will be more resistant to conventional

treatments, and, I mean, we could be dealing with an unknown

quantity. >> Will: So you don't know what

to do. >> Kayla: Not yet, but let's not

get ahead of ourselves. >> Will: Oh, my God.

It's almost funny that the drug I took

to get my memory back is now causing me to lose my

memory. >> Xander: You've reconsidered

my offer? >> Brady: I have one of my own,

one that I think we could both live with.

>> Xander: I'm listening. >> Brady: I will buy the

recording from you. You can name your price.

You can take the money. You can establish your own

company. You'll finally be out from under

Victor's thumb. You can do whatever you want.

And you'll be able to prove to Victor your true value.

>> Xander: You want to fund my own company.

What is it? >> Xander: I don't expect you to

understand this, Brady, but this isn't about money for me.

What I want is the respect my family owes me, so you can take

offer you a position in Titan. I don't need Victor's approval

Nicole's freedom, yes, I would. But this is the best offer

>> Marlena: Sarah offered to speak to Nicole on your behalf?

>> Eric: Yes, she did. >> Marlena: Well, that must have

been very difficult for her. >> Eric: Mom, it's difficult for

spoke to Sarah. I know that the two of you were

planning to tell Rex how you felt about each other, and that

It's a decision for her to make. >> Marlena: Well, you see, I'm

concerned, because I suspect that she's made that decision

because she can't be with you. >> Eric: Mom, I don't want to

>> Eric: I'm counting on your discretion.

>> Sarah: Of course there's nothing going on between Eric

>> Sarah: If I had feelings for Eric, why would I be here trying

tumor, it seems likely. If I could just get my hands on

the chemical formula of the drug, then, you know, might be

confiscated whatever was left, and Seth Burns somehow lost

Dr. Rolf's original diary. >> Sonny: And how would having

it help? >> Kayla: We could resynthesize

the drug, and it might be able to give us some kind of insight

in treatment. >> Will: You don't think

radiation is gonna work, do you? >> Kayla: I'm not saying that.

I'm just saying that we need all the tools in our arsenal.

>> Sonny: We're gonna keep fighting, Will.

>> Kayla: Exactly, and that really is the most important

weapon. It's you, your strength,

your will to live, and everything you have to live

for.
