the survivalists begin to wake up to a grim reality.

and forced to survive the night with limited supplies.

Overnight, Haley's health took a turn for the worse,

and now her family must decide how much more she can take.

- I think we should just see what she does right now.

- She's gonna want to fight.

- Haley's family were talking to the medic.

- What'd they say? - The medic highly recommends

that she does not do today.

- You're kidding. [ Sighs ]

- I think she would be upset if we pulled her now.

Haley is going to push to the max,

which is great and concerning at the same time,

but I really have full faith

that Haley's going to pull through.

Our whole lives, we always promised each other

that we have 100% trust.

I was in so much pain last night,

but the thing going through my head kept being,

that you think your loved one will be able to guess correctly.

Your code word cannot be either of your names

or the name of your survivalist.

Once you have picked your code,

place your satellite phone in the canister and lock it.

to the starting line for their final trial,

the families in H.Q. mentally prepare for the battle ahead

and their chance at winning a quarter of $1 million.

and we don't know what is to come,

but we do know we got a book on Morse code.

I got to practice my Morse code.

So we're going to memorize the Morse code alphabet.

- Me and Haley have Morse code tattoos,

and I think hers is actually spelled wrong,

so not much experience,

but we're confident.

[ Alert buzzing ]

- Attention, families.

Your survivalists are nearing the starting line.

- Whoo! This is the only time I've ever been excited

to gather at the monitor wall. - I know

- The final survival trial is here.

In this trial, you will be

racing to a series of checkpoints.

The first survivalist to reach the final supply crate

will win the competition and a quarter of $1 million.

- Ooh. - That's crazy.

- This trial will be broken up into two stages.

In the first stage, you must use either a bag or a tube

to inflate a raft

in order to paddle over a mile across the lake,

where a lock box will be waiting for each survivalist.

- Holy crap. - To open the lock box,

you must guess the correct five-letter code

your families have chosen for you.

Each lock box contains a satellite phone

to communicate with your family

and navigate to the second leg of this trial.

The first two survivalists to open their lock boxes

will continue immediately,

while the last two survivalists will fail this trial

and be extracted. - Ohh.

- A lot comes down to the freaking word.

- Damn. - We're good.

- Wish we would have went with Laura.

- Hey, are you thinking Brody with all of your thought power?

[ Alert buzzer ]

- In order to inflate their rafts,

the survivalists have been given a tube

to manually blow air with their mouths

and also a bag which can be used by trapping air into the bag

and pressing it into their rafts.

- Oof! That's it. That's a good one.

- Oh, yeah.

- Hale is absolutely killing it.

She is a whitewater guide.

Right now she's living in Maine

and rafting class-five rapids.

And she is using her entire body to get all

of this air into the raft.

She hasn't been feeling well.

But never underestimate the power of a woman.

- Let's go, Woodrow. - Dang, Woody.

- It's alright, girl. Breathe.

Meagan is definitely having some trouble

just keeping the air in that bag

to be able to push the air into the boat,

and it's nerve-racking. - Damn.

- But she will do what Meagan does,

which is push through when things get hard.

- [Bleep]

- The inflation bag is broken.

- Haley was doing so well.

And then all of a sudden, the bag breaks.

My heart breaks with the bag.

- Oh, my God. Jake got that blown up fast.

- Woody's gonna be the first boat in the water.

- I'm so nervous because now Woody and Jake are ahead,

and Haley has to pump it up with her mouth.

I'm just worried about her overexerting herself.

That's a win. First one in the water.

- The inflation bag is broken.

- Okay, Haley, do not panic.

- While Haley and Meagan struggle to inflate their rafts,

Woody and Jake pull ahead

as they get ready to paddle across the lake

towards their lock boxes on the other side.

First one in the water.

Every time Woody has a challenge, he kills it.

- But Woody is the oldest contestant here.

He's 50 years old,

and I hope that he has the energy to prevail.

Whether it's crawling on his last breath,

we don't stop, and we're going to keep on pushing.

- Haley is the biggest inspiration.

After hard things happen, she has the capability

to think of the silver lining and get through them.

And I think that's what's gonna carry Haley to the end here.

Meagan has a lot of ground to cover to catch up.

Everyone else is already in the water.

But Meagan's strong, and she will not give up.

- You know, Meagan's journey has been a roller coaster ride.

She's the underdog,

but she has the drive, determination to win this thing.

But I also know that he's tired,

so hopefully he's able to really just dig deep

and do what needs to get done.

- As the four survivalists make their way

across the 1.2 mile lake, Woody and Jake are neck and neck,

but Meagan and Haley are quickly gaining on them.

- Haley has so much experience in the water.

She loves rafting. That's her job.

And I cannot believe how fast she is paddling.

Haley's catching up on them quick.

their families have chosen for them.

for a quarter of $1 million.

to guide them as they race through the forest

to get to the next checkpoint,

on their way to finding the final supply crate.

where their wits will be put to a final test.

will indicate which direction to travel.

In each direction, there is a red supply crate.

However, only one crate contains the $250,000

and one is empty.

But I'm extremely proud of myself.

This was like a mental roller coaster,

And my motivation is showing my kids

that we can struggle on things, and you can push through it,

even if it's hard.

So I still feel really, uh,

really good about the way that I did this.

- We didn't win. It stings.

But Jake really does mean-- mean the world to me.

He was really the one person that was always with me.

And in this moment, you know, I'm glad

that Justin and I have been there for him

and could not be more proud of him and in what he accomplished.

and think that surely

And I learned how much a little bit of gratitude can do.

when I look beside me,

and there's the people that I love so deeply.

And just knowing that they got to experience that, too,
