I gotta score to settle with you.

A hitman is after Enos.

And it's the Dukes to the rescue.

Over and out.

Watch out, Daisy, it's a time bomb.

I almost got y'all killed.

'Daisy Duke's been kidnapped.'

He got past us.

Can't let him do it. Don't let...

- 'Hee-haw!' - 'Hee-haw!'

Well, it's in Hazzard. It's in a hurry and it ain't a Duke.

So whoever that fella is, he's probably up to no good.

You know, decent folks don't carry on that way..

Unless they're up to no good.

Uh-huh. What did I tell you?

Now, if I had to connect that fella, his gun

and that newspaper clipping, I'd figure right off

that ol' Enos was in trouble.

What do you think? Should we pick him up?

Yeah, I don't like seeing anybody walk out in this heat.

- Alright. - Yeah.

- 'Yeah. Howdy.' - 'Hey, where you headed?'

- Hop on in here. - Thank you.

I'd been standing here long enough to grow roots.

Well, come on in. Sit yourself down.

Mighty glad y'all happened along.

I missed my bus from Capitol City this morning.

Reckon, hitchhiking wasn't such a good idea.

Yeah.

By the way, my name's Brady. Len Brady.

- How do you do? - Pleased to meet you.

I'm Luke Duke, and these are my cousins, Bo and Daisy.

- Hi. - It looks like your lucky day.

Yeah, first time in Hazzard County.

The Dukes don't know it, but they're practically delivering

that killer to their best friend.

- This is as far as we go. - Anything else we can do?

Oh, no. You've done more than enough already.

I'll manage just fine.

He seems like a nice enough kinda fella.

- 'I'm glad I ain't walking.' - 'That's his problem.'

Right now we gotta figure out how to squeeze

this fat shopping list out of a very thin pocketbook.

So come on, fellas.

Come on.

This is a big day for Boss.

Rosco's bringing his favorite once a month special

from the diner. It's grits souffle.

When grits are in season.

Enos, ain't Rosco come back with my lunch?

- No, sir, not yet. - Well, obviously not yet.

What a day this has been. I never in all my life..

Good news. Good news, Boss.

- I got your grits souffle. - Oh, at last. Thank goodness..

- 'My grits soufflé.' - I'm sorry.

- I'm sorry, sheriff. - It's ruined.

I left the box in the way, Mr. Hogg, I'm sorry.

Can't you do anything right? Let me tell you something.

I'm tired of everything you're doing like wrecking my cars

and ripping up my uniforms and now ruining my lunch.

- Don't touch me. - Don't touch him.

Listen, I'm warning you.

I'm giving you one chance to shape up or ship out.

Yeah. I think maybe you've gone too far.

Yeah? Well, you ain't me.

Yeah, one more goof, and he's out.

You read me, Enos?

Yes, sir, Mr. Hogg. Loud and clear, sir.

Well, the inevitable turn of the wheel of fate..

Has did it again.

He found Enos.

My last chance. Shucks.

Mrs. Huckabee, wait. You shouldn't carry heavy packages.

'Thanks, Mr. Rhuebottom.'

Thanks a lot. Have a good weekend.

Oh, look. There's Enos, doing his job as always.

Heavy packages, ma'am. I'll tote them home for you, ma'am.

- Hold it, son. - Hey.

Enos!

- Enos, you alright? - I'm okay.

- I gotta get that gunman. - Oh, Mrs. Huckabee.

Come on, Bo, get him.

- Bo! Hey, you got him. - Yeah.

'Possum on a gum bush.'

- What the heck is that? - 'He had a mask on.'

'You know him, Enos?'

'Yeah, his name's Frank Scanlon. He's a hitman.'

'Uses a different disguise for every job.'

We got an APB on him last week from breaking out of prison.

I guess, he's after me.

Well, no offense, Enos, but what would a big-time hitman

be doing chasing after you?

'Cause in California, I arrested and testified against him.

He got 30 years and swore someday he'd make

me pay for it with my life.

Came close enough.

It's his fault, because he keeps changing these files around.

Enos' fault. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Enos.

Sorry to interrupt, but guess what I got.

I don't have to guess, 'cause I know.

A Grade A number-one case of terminal stupids.

'That ain't all he's got.'

He's got a Grade A case of a terminal criminal here.

Oh, tiddly-tuddly.

Listen here, he's just trying to make points with you, Boss.

Look at this man, now, he doesn't look tough enough

to be guilty of litter bugging.

Alright, Enos. Turn him loose.

Wrong, Rosco, this here is Frank Scanlon.

- Frank Scanlon? - Frank Scallion?

Listen, that name does sound familiar, doesn't it?

He's the syndicate killer, sheriff.

The one that we got the APB on last week for busting out

of the federal pen.

Don't stand there, print him and cuff him

and throw him in the cell.

'Wait, I got a better idea. We don't want him around here.'

Throw him in the cell first. Then do them other things.

Yes, sir. Come on, fellas, y'all help me.

Well, sure.

- You done good, Enos. - Y'all done good.

Come on now, mind your..

Just mind your P's and Q's.

If you'll just sign in right here.

Ol' Boss wasn't wasting any time.

He called the California police department

because he was sure that he was seeing dollar signs.

- Fifty thousand dollars! - Fifty thousand?

Oh, yeah, I'm glad to hear that. Because I just caught him.

- What are you doing? - Would you mind, please?

You can't mean that.

Send somebody tomorrow. Oh, good, good, good.

And listen, when that officer fella arrives here

make sure he's got the reward with him.

Make the check out to Jefferson Davis Hogg.

Yeah, Hogg with two G's.

He he he. You got it. Oh, don't mention it.

But, Boss, wait a minute. Wait a minute.

You didn't capture that man. The Duke boys did, and Enos.

Yeah, I know that, Rosco. And it looks like you know that too.

But them folks in California, they'll never know that.

Come on, let's get downstairs.

- This ought to hold you, sir. - Wouldn't count on that.

I got a score to settle. Ain't nothing gonna change that.

'Alright now, come on. Follow me.'

- 'Yeah. Oh, yeah.' - I'll show you what we'll do.

Oh, good. I love it.

Enos... wait a minute, Duke boys. What're you doing here?

We're helping escort the prisoner to his cell.

'Well, escort yourself on out, riffraff.'

'Now get. Get, get, get. Alright, come on.'

'Come on, come on, come on.'

- Tell Daisy hello. - Yeah, we will, Enos.

Enos, pay attention here.

This is the official report of your capture of Frank Scanlon.

'While you're busy down here with the prisoner, tell you..'

'...you just sign right there, your name on the dotted line'

'and I'll fill in the details later.'

Mr. Hogg, I couldn't do that, 'cause I didn't read it yet.

'Enos, you can't read something that hasn't been written yet.'

I couldn't sign it if it's not filled out.

"I can't sign, I can't sign." What are you, a broken record?

Watch out!

What the heck was that?

'Will you get up, you dipstick?'

You're choking me!

Daisy, hit it.

Go for it, Daisy.

I tell you, I never heard of such a thing.

We've gotta go after him. Come on. Get in the car.

- Let me in here. - You get in the front.

Rosco, get this thing moving, will you please?

Come on.

Let's go after him now. Not tomorrow. Alright, go, go.

- 'What's the matter?' - 'I think we got a flat tire.'

Where's the flat tire? Where is it?

There it is. Fix it!

Come on, Daisy. Get after it.

Watch yourself!

Hold on, fellas.

'Yahoo!'

Meanwhile, Uncle Jesse was headed to town

unaware that things in Hazzard was a mite unsettled.

'Just hold on.'

That's shooting.

You can't say the Dukes ain't up against a worthy opponent.

You better change that tire. You alright, Uncle Jesse?

Oh, I'm fine, this dang thing just flooded out.

What in tarnation's going on here anyway?

Who's shooting from the sheriff's car?

Some guy that's trying to kill Enos.

- Kill Enos? - Yeah.

The boys tried to stop this fella, but he broke out of...

By the time we change this tire, he's gonna be gone anyway.

We'd better just pray for Enos' sake

that he just keeps on running.

Yeah.

'Crazy you!'

You're gonna kill somebody, you hear?

I didn't have nothing to do with it.

- What's wrong with you? - It was that fool in the car.

You let that crook steal 'em keys off your belt.

Enos ain't ever gonna spot this fella with all them disguises.

I bet he's a lot of laughs around Halloween, don't you?

Enos, you just proved it.

You ain't got smarts to cover a frog's eyebrow. Even less.

I warned you what would happen next time you messed up, right?

- 'Yes, sir.' - 'Well, alright.'

'Wait a minute. Oh, wait a minute.'

'I see you didn't catch him, huh?'

No, sir, we didn't catch him.

He gave us the slip back on Miller's Road.

Gave you the slip? That's the last straw.

What a day this has been. Alright, alright, alright.

I'm gonna make one good thing happen for me today

and that's a fact.

I'm gonna fire this here dipstick.

Now, J.D., you can't just fly off the handle.

- Enos didn't lose him, we did. - That's right.

He's the only thing resembling the law in Hazzard.

Yeah, and you can't fire him, Boss.

Well, I can do anything I want around here.

Enos Strate, ten-hut!

You're hereby fired as deputy sheriff of Hazzard County.

- 'Now just a minute, J.D.' - You won't need this gun.

- And you won't need this.. - Boss.

And you won't need this here patch.

And you can hand in your key to the county washroom.

That's the last straw. Wait J.D., you can't do that.

Us Dukes is gonna get you...

Uncle Jesse. Please, Uncle Jesse. Please.

Thank you.

Mr. Hogg was right to fire me.

Maybe, I ain't fit to be a deputy.

Oh, Boss, I can't believe you. Enos. Enos, wait, honey.

I think you made a mistake, J.D.

Oh, yeah? Well, he said it himself. He ain't fit.

Rosco. Come on. Come on here.

'Alright, you got that tire changed, huh?'

Enos. Enos.

- Enos? - 'Go away.'

Enos, open up.

I ain't leaving here until you open this door

and have a talk with me, face-to-face.

I'm sorry, Daisy.

Will you please go away now?

Last week, you thought I hung up the moon. You won't talk to me.

That was last week, when I had a job and a future worth sharing.

And that's all over now.

A girl like you deserves the best, Daisy.

Not someone who keeps dropping his shoes into buttermilk.

Enos, you gotta stop putting yourself down like that.

I followed you, because I don't understand what's going on.

Why are Boss and Rosco blaming you for that guy escaping?

- They were there. - It was my fault, Daisy.

I left the keys in the car that Scanlon escaped in.

And I'm so ashamed I..

I just can't talk about it.

I'm sorry, Daisy.

If brains were gunpowder, Enos couldn't blow his nose.

But I've been thinking, you know...

Oh, yeah? Well, so have I.

Listen, when that California police official comes here

to pick up Scanlon, you'd better have him sitting

in our cell, you hear?

Listen, don't worry about that.

See, if I got Enos, well, then I can...

- Yeah, you don't have Enos. - I don't have...

Listen, you get to Miller Road and pick up the trail

of that crook where these bumbling amateurs lost him.

And don't you come back till you get him, you hear?

Now get going.

Listen, Boss, listen.

I am a true professional, and I'll do the job

but would you mind if I borrow Enos' gun?

Because I sort of lost mine when those guys escaped.

Oh, yeah, well, you can take it, old pro.

Come on. Get that thing off there, and let's get going.

So I tried to tell Enos what Boss and Rosco said

didn't mean a dang thing, but he wouldn't listen to me.

He's still in that locker room, and he's so broken up.

Figures. That job was his whole life.

I know it.

It's liable to cost him his life too.

Enos is head up about getting fired over there

he's liable not to be thinking about protecting himself

in case Scanlon tries anything.

And if he does try it, there's only Rosco to protect him.

Shoot, you may as well put out our own APB.

Why don't you just grab that there CB and do it to it.

It's not a half bad idea.

Go ahead.

This here is Luke Duke calling the Hazzard net.

This is Luke calling Hazzard net. Now, listen up close.

So Luke broadcast the description of the fugitive

on the old Hazzard network.

You know, Hazzard folk love to talk.

They pretty near sleep with their CBs.

- I ain't seen a thing. - This fella just about..

Clem Boswell told them about almost getting clobbered

near the Greenville intersection by Enos' car.

Hey, that is the exact same spot we picked up Scanlon.

- He's gonna be there. Come on. - Call if you need us here.

Now, that Scanlon fella was dressed up like a preacher

ready for a shotgun wedding.

Now, this gave him a big jump on the boys

and didn't do no whole lot of good for old Enos.

Meanwhile, the boys was headed back to Greenville Junction.

And they wouldn't let anything stand in their way.

- Hang on. - Dang it.

'Yee-haw!'

Now, that's how you're supposed to do it, Clem.

You know what?

I swear people will park anywhere in Hazzard these days.

'Hey, Bo, hold on.'

'Back it on up.'

Yeah.

That's Enos' car, alright.

My guess is Scanlon had another car stashed out here.

Yeah, here's another tire track.

And they ain't going out of Hazzard County either, are they?

- You know what that means. - Enos' still on his list.

- We didn't hope hard enough. - Yeah, look.

He reloaded too.

- Hey, Luke. - I'll be..

Another one of them phony mustaches.

He switched cars and disguises.

- This fell outta the trunk. - Let's get outta here.

How do we find him? We don't know what he looks like.

I don't know how, but we should do is get Enos to the farm

where we can look after him.

Alright, we'll tell everybody on the CB.

Alright.

But when Luke brought the others up to date..

Daisy told him that they had a problem.

Yeah, you heard right, Enos is at the sheriff's office

cleaning out his desk and then he's leaving town, fellas. Over.

You're gonna have to stop him. He can't outrun Scanlon.

And by the way, we found out where he left the cop car

and he's headed to town in disguise. I don't know what.

Alright, leave it to me. I'll get him to change his mind.

We'll meet you and give you an escort out to the farm.

But hurry up, because Scanlon could be getting there now.

Good luck.

Hey, Enos.

Hi, Daisy.

Where you going?

Oh, somewhere, anywhere. It don't make no difference.

Sure does to me.

I already miss you. I miss you something fierce.

I'll always remember this, Daisy. You trying to stop me.

But once I'm gone, Scanlon won't have no more reason to stay

and then nobody in Hazzard can get hurt.

I think you're wrong about that, Enos.

I think Scanlon is so full of hate..

That he's gonna take it out on somebody.

'Even if you leave.'

Maybe even somebody who helped put him in jail.

You mean like, like Bo and Luke?

Uh-huh.

We believe in you. And we need you, Enos.

And that's why, we've decided you should stay at the farm.

And help out. Uncle Jesse and the boys did, and I did.

I ain't gonna take no.

- Daisy! Hey, Daisy! - Come on now.

We found Enos' car, and there was a mustache in it.

I ain't taking no for an answer, Enos.

Daisy, let me have that box.

- You gonna come with us? - Yeah.

- Yeah? - Yeah.

- Ha ha ha. That's our cousin. - 'Enos never had a chance.'

'Daisy said she'd bring him, and she did.'

'Now, now, now, everybody just play it straight.'

'Act like nothing's happened. Hey, Enos.'

Hey, y'all. Enos has decided to stay with us.

Bo, I don't know how to thank y'all.

Well, shoot. It ain't nothing you wouldn't do for us, right?

- Thank you, Uncle Jesse. - Hey, Cooter.

Come on, I'll drive to the farm with you, okay?

- Okay, see y'all lot. - Bye-bye.

- Bye now. - So..

- We'll see you there. - Yeah, we best get on there.

I hope I'm doing the right thing by staying, Daisy.

I think you are, and I'm gonna wash your car.

Anything ever happened to y'all, I'd never forgive..

Watch out, Daisy! It's a time bomb!

Well, at least Daisy won't have to wash ol' Enos' car.

- Good Lord, - Get the fire extinguishers.

Enos!

- 'Get an ambulance. Call the... ' - 'Call the fire department.'

'Hurry. Watch out!'

You know, that Scanlon fella is mean.

And he ain't even through yet.

What blew up? What blew up? Oh, good grief!

'Better watch that fuel tank.'

- You alright? - Yeah, I'm alright. Shook up.

This is what I was afraid of, I almost got y'all killed.

What in the name of all that's holy is going on?

- Somebody blew up Enos' car. - It was a time bomb, Mr. Hogg.

Enos, Enos, Enos!

- It ain't Enos' fault, Boss. - No? Alright, alright.

- Then who did it? - Must have been Scanlon.

Scanlon? Scanlon? He here?

We must've looked right at him and not even noticed.

Is he here? Oh, tarnation!

We weren't gone from that car for more than a minute.

- How'd he get by? - That's the trouble.

How you gonna fight somebody

when you don't know who you're fighting?

Whoever he is, he's awful good.

Yeah.

'This is J.D. Hogg calling Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane.'

'Rosco, are you listening out there?'

That's a big affirmative, Boss.

Not only am I listening, I'm a looking.

And good news, good news. Listen.

I got that killer, Scallion, boxed up in Box Canyon.

- 'Over.' - Oh, you have, have you?

Well, that's very interesting.

On account of that very Scallion has just blown up Enos' car

here in Hazzard Square.

Only he did it under the name of Scanlon!

Are you kidding me?

Listen, Enos is fine. Tell me, please, Boss.

- Tell me Enos is fine. Over. - Enos is fine.

No thanks to you, though.

I mean, we got a killer running around in town

and you're off on some wild-goose chase.

'You get your tailpipes right back into town.'

'And that's an order. Over and out.'

Alright, move over, Flash, could you?

Listen, we've gotta go get that killer.

Move over. We're gonna be in hot pursuit.

Meanwhile, the Dukes figured that their place

was as safe as any for Enos.

But they still wasn't taking any chances

with that hitman on the loose.

'Everything's all clear out here, Uncle Jesse.'

Come on in, Bo. I'll take your place.

If it gets cold, bring up a sweater, will you?

Sure will.

I'll never forget the way Scanlon glared at me

on his way out of the courtroom.

He said, "I'm gonna get you." That man's a killer.

I never should have dragged y'all into this mess.

- Hey, Bo. - Hey, Enos.

Listen, you can't go blaming yourself like that, Enos.

It ain't your fault.

I'm sick and tired of Scanlon calling all the shots.

Yeah, well, I'm hungry.

I don't see we got much choice in the matter, do you?

'What if we could flush him out in the open?'

What do you mean?

What if we give him, the time, the place

and the opportunity to get at Enos.

And when he shows up, we're all there waiting for him?

- Good idea. - Oh, no, it isn't.

That makes it very dangerous for Enos. Forget it, Luke.

That's okay, Daisy. It's part of the job.

Job? What job? Boss fired you.

That don't matter, I didn't join the sheriff's department

just to draw a paycheck.

My way of paying back Hazzard, for all they've given me.

Just 'cause Mr. Hogg took away my badge don't..

Don't change anything.

Alright, say we do set up a trap for this Scanlon fella.

Well, how's he gonna know where Enos is gonna be?

We broadcast it over the radio.

Isn't Elton working at the station today?

Yeah. Boss Hogg don't let him up hardly ever.

- It's worth a try. - Let's give it a shot.

Call Uncle Jesse.

I'll tell him he's not getting his sweater or pie or nothing.

The Dukes drove Enos to radio station W-H-O-G-G..

To meet with their friend Elton, Hazzard's top DJ.

He was Hazzard's only DJ.

That's 3 o'clock, Hogg Standard Time here at W-H-O-G-G.

Good. It's time to eat. This...

Would you hush? I'm listening to my commercial.

Oh, I thought you were eating.

Home of the anti-vegetarian boot. Not a corn in the carload.

Boy, Elton, you sure do earn your money.

Sorry, but the boss writes all the advertising copy.

- Yeah. - What can I do for you fellas?

Listen, we got a favor to ask of you.

Why, sure. Anything for my old fishing pals.

Elton's a good friend of mine.

But maybe, he don't want me on the program.

And now this is your good buddy Elton

with an important program note about an old friend

of all of Hazzard, ex-deputy Enos Strate.

'Enos is gonna be our special guest'

right here in the studio, this afternoon at 5 o'clock.

- What did he say? - He said...

I know what he said. Enos Strate? A special guest?

- I know. - Wait a minute. Elton Loggins.

'Deputy sheriff of Hazzard County.'

'Now, remember, the program starts'

'at 5:00 p.m. sharp.'

'See y'all then.'

You better believe it.

Now, one thing predictable about Scanlon

is that he don't do the predictable.

I'm gonna be on "Who's who".

See, honey? Everything worked out.

- How dare you? - Yeah.

Well, I can't talk into this thing.

You know something, that is really dumb of him to say.

Tell where Enos' gonna be. There's a killer after him.

There sure is. Alright, I'm gonna get on the phone.

I'm gonna call that Elton Loggins.

- Right. - And I'm gonna..

Give him a raise.

- A raise? - Yeah, a raise.

I think you're getting a vapor lock.

- No, I ain't. - You ain't..

I ain't never felt better in my life.

- Are you kidding? - Yeah, well, listen.

- You said it yourself. - What?

Well, Scanlon is bound to come back.

Yeah, and when he does, you can protect Enos

by catching that killer.

Are you kidding me?

Me? Alone?

- Against that killer, Scallion? - Yeah.

And when that fella from the California police department

shows up, we collect 50,000 simoleons.

Listen, Boss, what if I give you a 100% of my 10%

of your 100% of that reward and let's forget all about this?

You don't want Enos to get hurt, do you?

- No. Of course not. - Well, of course not.

You're the law here. You're supposed to catch the killer.

Well, yes, but-but...

One more but and you'll be on your butt. Alright, Come on.

- I'll show you how. - Well, listen.

- Just come right out here. - Let's think about this.

Meanwhile, Luke and Bo had gathered everyone

to put their plan in action.

Which included Jesse's old friends, the Ridge runners.

Alright. Now, you're all clear?

Now, if we see anybody that we don't recognize approach

that radio station.

First, you get on the horn to us and then we all jump him.

That's right, we all be careful, 'cause he's real dangerous.

- Oh, yeah, he's a killer. - We had ourselves a dry run.

Any stranger walks towards that station is gonna get..

Well, a lot of buckshot.

Enos, are you sure you wanna go through with this?

You're risking your life, you know.

Daisy, it's because of me that killer came to Hazzard.

I'm gonna do my share to put him back where he belongs.

Alright, well, let's go to our positions.

- Yeah. - Y'all be careful.

Let's get on with it.

- A little extra help here. - Alright.

- 'Rosco.' - What?

You got yourself all zipped up?

- Yes. I'm all ready. - Alright, good.

Now, hurry up. Enos is gonna be on the air any second now.

- Yeah. - Take this, will you?

- That's a doozy. - J.D. Hogg speaking.

Yeah, Boss. This here's Luke Duke.

- Luke Duke? - Uh, say hello from Rosco.

It's too late in the day. Alright, what do you want?

I got an idea how we might be able to catch that guy.

Oh, listen, fraidy cat. You're in luck.

- He may be able to help. - Good.

You say you've got a way to help catch Scanlon?

That's right.

If you and Rosco help out and we catch the guy

the rest of us will give up our reward.

Why, what do you mean by talking about reward money

when a beloved citizen of Hazzard's life is in danger?

On the other hand, I accept your offer. Start talking.

- But you know... - Would you please..

And so Luke's trap for Scanlon was baited and set.

All the trappers was in position

and ol' Enos, the bait, was moving into position..

To lure the fox.

But this fox was awful smart.

Well, compared to attempted murder..

Stealing a truck is just a spit in the ocean.

And back in town, it was 30 seconds to airtime.

Everything appeared normal, which is just the way

the Dukes wanted it.

Uncle Jesse, it's almost 5 o'clock.

'How does everything look?'

No. There's nobody around that don't belong here.

Yeah, fellas, there's nothing over here except Hazzard folk.

'How is things out here?'

- O-oh, Boss... - What?

Well, if that guy does come into town, we'll be ready for him.

The show ought to be on right about now, don't you think?

Howdy, y'all. Today's who's who in Hazzard

interviews our good friend and neighbor

ex-deputy Enos Strate.

- Hey, Elton. - How you doing? Yeah.

As y'all know, Enos is a self-made man

and a real success story here in Hazzard County.

'Who's gonna answer that burning question..'

'...Enos, how come you got fired?'

Well, Elton, that's a, that's a long story, you know.

But before-before I get started, I wanna say

that I ain't got nothing, but respect for Sheriff Rosco

a-and Mr. Hogg who done the firing.

And a lot of folks out there seem concerned

about me leaving and I want you to know

'it's not like y'all are losing a deputy'

'because even though I'm not on the force anymore'

'if anybody breaks the law, I can make a citizen's arrest.'

'You've been a citizen a long time here in Hazzard County.'

Uncle Jesse, whose car is that on the other side of the square?

'It's-it's alright. That's Mrs. Crabtree.'

She comes into town everyday at this time.

'Where is your favorite fishing hole?'

Well, you know, the old proverbial..

Pond south of town, you know.

But I'll share...'cause you're my buddy, I'll share that.

- Appreciate it. - It's Hazzard Pond.

And I've been there a few times fishing and otherwise, you know.

'Another day, well, it wasn't my fault'

'but I had some crickets I bought.'

'A 100 crickets in there, and I reached over, you know'

and knocked them over in front of the patrol car and they..

Some of them crawled up my britches leg

and I got squirming around there

and I-I missed the curve and run off into the pond

'and messed up the..'

'That's Bib Tarkey's truck.'

Bib Tarkey's truck. That's alright.

Don't get nervous, anybody, now.

He's running in good luck.

Because Jesse thinks he's one of the locals.

I caught a nice one out there, you know, uh, last spring.

Tell 'em to stay out of sight up there.

Good gracious, Homer, can't you watch it?

Don't let that happen again.

You probably don't become a syndicate hitman

without being awful keen on smelling trouble.

And Scanlon does.

So, how do you get along with Sheriff Rosco's dog, Flash?

Oh, Flash and I are buddies. She's the most..

She's the most conscientious sheriff's dog I've ever met.

'She never hardly goes to sleep when I'm talking to her.'

'And well, I love Flash, but she won't eat anything.'

You know, fellas, I'm getting a little nervous.

What if this guy doesn't show up?

'Sit tight, Daisy.'

'I'm betting he's gonna show up.'

'And she's got these wrinkles and getting kinda..'

'...kinda old, but I love her.'

Howdy, ma'am.

Who are you?

My name is Scanlon.

And I'm afraid your friend has just won his bet.

Now, I tell you, I sure do wish he'd found somebody..

Anybody, but Daisy.

'I'd just like to take a second here to remind you..'

Nice little trap you got set, beauty.

- But it ain't gonna work. - What makes you so sure?

Because you're gonna get me outta here. Now, get in the car.

Slide over and get behind that wheel.

And turn on the engine, 'cause you're gonna drive.

Now, you move!

But she won't eat anything from anybody else except Rosco.

And so Enos kept talking

and everybody else was keeping watch

little realizing that Daisy's life was in danger.

Enos is something else. How can he keep talking for so long?

Let's hope he don't have to talk much longer.

Yeah.

Uncle Jesse, what's going on out there?

It's all clear as far as I can see.

How about you, Daisy?

Daisy?

'Daisy?'

Alright.

You pull over there. Right by that telephone booth.

Daisy?

I guess maybe her battery's has gone dead.

'That's right, y'all stop on by.'

Come on.

Take it. Take it!

Dial.

So there's more to deputing than-than catching crooks

Elton, it's..

Well, it's watching out for the young'uns crossing

the streets, getting kittens down from telephone poles

and just being a good friend and neighbor.

Excuse me, Enos.

We interrupt this to bring you a special news bulletin.

Daisy Duke's been kidnapped.

And the kidnapper's got her on the telephone right now.

What? Come on.

That's it, fellas. Uh, he got past us.

Come on, come on. Elton.

- Did y'all hear? - We did.

Here, talk into this. This will switch us off the air.

Listen, Daisy, this here's Luke.

We're all here. Are you alright?

Now, you remember. You tell them exactly what I told you.

And don't try any tricks.

Hey, Luke.

Yeah, I'm alright.

'Listen, Scanlon says that unless Enos meets him'

'at the north end of Pruitt Meadow within half an hour.'

'He ain't gonna be responsible for what happens to me.'

Let me talk to Scanlon.

Luke, you can't let him do it, though. Don't let...

Don't you hurt her. If you hurt her, I'll...

- Enos, Enos, Enos. - Hold on now.

'Now, listen, cowboy.'

I want Enos Strate alone.

No gun. I want his hands in the air.

Or you're not gonna see your cousin anymore. You understand?

Alright, come on. Move it.

Alright, boys, we gotta do some fast thinking.

The only way is for me to do what he says.

Don't be silly, you wouldn't stand a chance.

Even if you go there, ain't no guarantee he's gonna let her go.

We gotta take that risk. I gotta do it.

- Just don't try to stop. - Enos, would you think about..

What are we waiting for? I mean, we got him outnumbered.

- Let's all go after him. - Yeah.

It ain't that easy, J.D.

Now, if Scanlon sees us coming, why, Daisy's had it.

'We gotta think of something else.'

Why would he be in Pruitt's Meadow?

Because it's so wide open.

If Enos makes one move, he's got a clear shot.

Well, listen, there must be something we can do.

- Wait a minute, I got an idea. - What?

He said for Enos to come alone, didn't he?

What if we give him so much Enos he don't know which way to look?

Rosco, you got the key to the sheriff's supply room?

- Yeah. Yeah. - Let's go. Come on.

- Alright. - Good news.

Well, I-I don't know, but he usually thinks pretty good.

- Tell us if you hear anything. - Alright, good luck, fellas.

With the Dukes making a stop at the sheriff's office

Enos was halfway to Pruitt's Meadow

in Jesse's pickup before the General Lee

and Hazzard Number One even joined the race.

Everybody knows what's happening when we get there?

We gotta confuse him.

We gonna get him all rattled, so Daisy can get away.

Soon as she's clear, I can get the drop on him with this.

Let's just hope we can catch him.

Come on, don't lose them, Rosco. Don't lose them.

If anything happens to Daisy, I'd never forgive myself.

Oh, me neither. I wouldn't forgive myself.

That's the jump. Has the General ever gone that far before?

No, but he ain't never had a reason.

Hang on, y'all.

Holy smoke.

No, that's not the way to Pruitt's Meadow.

This thing dead-ends at Chickasaw Gorge.

Alright, I don't care if it's the Grand Canyon.

If they can jump it, so can we.

It's the least we can do for Enos and Daisy.

- That's what I like. - Yeah, take wheels.

- Rosco. - That was one of the more...

Come on. Where are we?

- Let's get out of here. - Well..

Well, we're almost there.

Let's hope that Daisy knows what to do when we get there.

Well, why don't we just open up our little bag of tricks.

I don't know what your problem is, but...

Just hold still, or I'm gonna rap you one.

Now, stop it.

- You ain't getting away. - We'll see.

Well, what do you know?

Your boyfriend arrived just on time.

Enos! Enos, get out of here.

You wanted me, Scanlon? Well, here I am.

Well, you just keep coming, hayseed.

Enos!

'You got the wrong guy, Scanlon. I'm the real Enos.'

I'm coming down.

'That ain't me, Scanlon. I'm over here.'

'You're just imagining things, Scanlon.'

- Here I am. - 'No, you want me, Scanlon.'

So that was Luke's plan to shake up Scanlon.

Now, let's see if Daisy can take advantage of it.

- Daisy, you okay? - Get him, Enos.

- You alright? Come on, Cooter... - Hang on, you guys.

Enos got himself a score to settle.

Where'd he go?

- Deck his jaw, Enos. - Climb his frame, buddy.

Enos!

- Enos. - Enos, come on now.

There they are. Come on, come on.

- Alright. Hey. - Hey, Enos.

- Nice kicks there, buddy. - Hey.

- Hey, Bo. - 'You done good.'

'You did it, Enos.'

Daisy! Daisy is alive! Hallelujah, Daisy!

Talk about happy endings.

That's the stuff country songs are made of, folks.

And as for Scanlon..

Well, that's the last disguise that he'll be wearing

for the next 30 years.

Enos was a hero..

And Boss figured that he had earned his job back.

Enos wouldn't accept the reward just for doing his duty.

So he donated it to the Lawmen's Benefit Fund

of the California Police.

He figured the folks out there

could use all the help they could get.

And for being a hero..

Enos got the best reward of all for saving Daisy's life.

Thank you, Daisy.

Shoot, that would give anybody confidence.
