Do you actually think it's sort of keeping up with the football?

would expect to just click their fingers

and after three and a bit years expect everything to be hunky-dory.

We can't go back to be a mining town, we can't go back to be a market town,

but we can grasp something else.

Rob and Ryan coming in, not only rejuvenating the town

in terms of people wanting to start businesses here,

but also rejuvenating it in terms of our self-esteem.

Will we be able to say we took advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity,

because you can be given a torch, but you can still fail to run with it.

[Ker] The reality is the speed of growth of the football club

kind of outstripped our expectations.

And now we have to make good all the gaps that we've left behind.

[Williamson] One of my biggest concerns is right now we have the temporary Kop,

which is fantastic. That's 3,000 people that are able to come to our matches.

Well, we tried to get tickets to the game, and it sold out super fast. [chuckles]

We've always been constricted by space.

You can't get tickets. It's hard to get tickets.

[Williamson] So as more people want to come watch the match live,

the more people get frustrated that they're not able to.

It's so hard to get season tickets these days, to be honest. It's ridiculous.

Appointing you guys was important for us to be able to get the new Kop done.

The stadium is just a gigantic priority for us

and a promise that we, you know we have to make good on.

That's a big, big part of the future sustainability of the club

is increasing the number of seats.

That those two feel like they're congruent.

It's not simple. And actually it's hampered by

the club's progress on the pitch,

because while 5,500 when we first did this two years ago

seemed like the right number,

actually, if we continue making strides on the pitch,

the real question is, is it big enough?

One of the other challenges that we have is timeline.

We have grant funding. Part of that grant funding

is tied to the fact that we are bringing back

international sporting and cultural events to the racecourse.

The first one being UEFA U-19s, which is a yearly football tournament

that showcases Europe's best national teams

made up of players under 19.

And that's in July 2026.

If we don't get this finished by June 2026,

not only will it be a PR nightmare and disaster from a reputation standpoint,

also for our fans and supporters, but more importantly we put at risk

the remaining ��14 million in grant money.

But we're behind. We're so far behind already.

I, for one, will be very excited

when they do that stupid photograph of Rob and Ryan in hard hats.

[Williamson] But when we start to build the new Kop next season,

we're gonna have to take away 3,000 seats.

and probably jolted us, 'cause we're a team that's not used to getting beat.

And I felt it did knock us a bit and, yeah, I was a bit disappointed with that.

That old saying, "goals change games, " and after their goal, we kind of

just didn't get any passes in at all, did we?

And then just came in a bit of pressure

and we could probably could have done better ourselves

with the ball in our decision making.

I'm not pleased with the result. It's a little bit disappointing.

We didn't really give ourselves a good account of ourselves.

A bit deflated. Fully back the lads to go and put it right next weekend.

We'll take the positive from the start of the season.

Tonight was a tough night for us,
