As a lot of modern wedding photographers, Sharon

and I haven't been using flash a lot

in our work.

Well, to be fair, we haven't been using

it almost at all.

We believed that weddings should be shot only

with the natural and available light, so we

called ourselves natural light photographers.

But actually, we just didn't know how to

use flash in the right way, so we

avoided it, and it took us years to

build confidence and to actually try it.

But then we realized that all this time

we were missing out on a whole world

of possibilities.

When we learned how to use flash in

our photography, our images improved dramatically.

The flash brought out the best out of

our subjects, giving them these perfect skin tones,

beautiful color pops, and a wider dynamic range

overall in each photo.

And in black and white photography, it gave

our pictures that timeless old Hollywood look that

all our clients always fall in love with.

Because of flash, our photography got this fashion

-forward luxurious and timeless look, and that propelled

us straight into the high-end market.

So I can actually say that flash made

our whole photography business thrive.

Some would say it's just another tool in

the toolkit, but I would say it was

a complete game changer for us.
