entrance to the manor,

our principal, permanent set

where everything has been going on
for the last eight years.

The manor is a Victorian mansion
in San Francisco.

It's a gorgeous, old house,
very charming.

It feels like their home.
You feel very comfortable.

It's built out just like a real house.

When you walk into it,

| feel like I'm looking at a real house.

This is where all--

A lot of the action takes place
when we're in the manor.

A lot of action going up and down
those stairs.

Take her for me, will you?

What? Who?

Because demons attack a lot here,

that railing gets knocked off
an awfully lot.

Every corner has a wall broken in

or chairs flying
or there was a fireball--

We have a grandfather clock
that always seems to get blown up.

Smashed a bunch of different times.

That is an antique.

Not the clock! We can't afford
to keep fixing that thing.

We counted 30 times
we'd broken that grandfather clock.

Okay.

The grandfather clock burned
20 times and it kept coming back.

We always joked that there must be
a grandfather clock

repair shop just down the street.

It was kind of a running gag, in fact,
in the big destruction of the manor now

one of the things that survives
is the grandfather clock.

True fans who know about
the grandfather clock

will see it there as a tribute
in the final episode.

The idea for a Victorian setting
never changed.

It's always been that way.

The house is a Victorian house
set, supposedly, in San Francisco,

although, this particular Victorian
house is set on Paramount lot.

You'd hang out on that set

and feel like you were hanging
around a Victorian mansion.

And there's no ceiling.

There's lights pointing down,
but it was gorgeous.

Often times when we're shooing
on that set,

instead of going to the trailers,

the girls will be sitting on the couch
or sitting in the living room

because they felt comfortable
in there too.

I'm known for asking
if | can just sit in the scene

even if it's some big thing
with demon.

"Can | sit now?"
They never let me.

But occasionally | can sit in the scene
which is delightful and comfortable.

You know what?

Maybe | should call in the big guns.

Behind you, over here,
is a very famous spot

where the first of the three
Charmed Ones died.

It was through this wall
that Prue was blasted through

and into the
conservatory over here.

No!

| think we did our really first big,
big gag in the conservatory.

Well, this is the conservatory,
this is the light, airy room of the house.

We've blown out windows--

The girls are always getting thrown
through one window or another.

We had Belthazor as a demon
and we threw him--

Shannen threw him out of
the conservatory via the big windows.

Through this door
we go to the kitchen,

and many, many a brew
in the kitchen has been made.

I've done a lot of scenes
mixing potions

and there was, you know, poofing and
all that, which is kind of interesting.

The kitchen was my least favourite
because it was hard to shoot in there.

It took a little more time
than other places.

Favourite place in the manor,
and | have a lot.

Because | walked there
the other day,

| went through every spot that we've
pulled people, done a big stunt in.

I'll always remember the--
In the dining room,

I think it was the wedding ceremony
between Leo and Piper.

And it was officiated by Grams
and it was--

The special effects on the stage
were quite remarkable.

It's on this table
where we've had weddings.

It's on this table where
Piper gave birth to Wyatt.

Here we go.

- That's it, baby.
- | see his shoulder.

Is that what | think it is?

If you're referring to Mr. Winky
between the legs, yes.

At the end of the hall, here,
is a bedroom that doubles

for Wyatt's and Chris' nursery.

It also doubles as Paige's room

and as Phoebe's room
when she used to live here.

One of my favourite scenes in the
manor took place in Piper's bedroom.

In the last episode we just shot,
Holly goes back in time

and finds her mother and father
making love in bed conceiving Phoebe.

So that's kind of shocking for her.

Oh, my God.

A lot of great things have happened
in that bedroom.

The attic just screams Charmed.

It's kind of a jumble.
It's kind of a--

Something that you might find
in an old Victorian house.

The attic is where it all happens.
The attic is where the spells are cast,

where the girls come to
to find answers to their problems.

Everything the family had owned
that was magical

ended up in the attic.

That's where Phoebe discovered
the trunk in the premiere episode

and in that trunk
was the Book of Shadows.

And that's how the Halliwell sisters
discovered that they were witches

and they came from
a line of witches

and that they had magical powers.

Over here in the attic,

right here, is where
the Book of Shadows usually is.

And this is where
most all the exciting stuff happens.

A demon who likes to kills witches.

Well, that narrows it down to about
every page in the Book.

The Book of Shadows,
it's the legacy of the show.

It is everything about the manor.
It is everything about the girls.

To me, the Book is the microcosm
of all the sets of the entire shows.

The Book of Shadows
is kept under lock and key

but that was to me
where all the power was.

What's with the Book?

Well, | think we should write
everything down.

Everything that happened, everything
we want future generations to know

so that we can pass it down.
Just like it was passed down to us.

The whole manor in general,
it's just a great set.

The fact that we were able to have so
much mobility and freedom to roam.

It helped get into whatever it was,
because we were in a house.

It was truly a home.

I've been to that set countless times.

You walk back into
the back of the kitchen

and then there's an open slot
and then you walk out of it

and then you're in this huge
open room,

you walk and you're upstairs.

Go into another place
and you're in the attic

and it's all laid out like a ranch-style
house, not like an actual house.

But it never ceases to amaze me,
how, whenever | watch the show

my brain just like fits it all together
and | just forget that.

Blowing up the manor,
that was pretty amazing.

| think everybody felt a little sad
and felt sort of the ending.

It was a cathartic experience

to stand in the rubble
of this demolished building.

And | sort of stepped back and let the
fact that it was all gone wash over me.

And that was, you know,
it was sentimental.

We all felt the memories
of eight years

of being in this manor, in this house.

Well, the manor is definitely its own
character. It had a life of its own.

Once you become part of a family,
something binds you

and sometimes
it's more than just feelings.

There's just-- There's elements.

Whether it's the house, the kids,
they all grew up there

and they all stayed there
and lived there

and | think the house
was incredibly important.
