The "beast" refers to magical familiars.

In the game, the protag is granted an egg right after she enrolls in the school.

Then,

after spending a month studying at the academy, the egg finally hatches...

and a beast partner is born, which greatly expands the variety of spells she can use.

So, in other words, the real magic lessons don't begin until after she obtains her beast.

And, naturally, the way the story and various love routes unfold

can change drastically depending on what type of beast is born!

That's what makes this game so much fun!

will serve to boost the fire spell's power and help defeat your opponent.
