[Applause]
Elias is alone in his room. He keeps
looking out the
window. Something is on his mind or
maybe someone. Then he sees him.
Alexander. Alexander is his
friend. Maybe even his best friend. And
today he's coming over to spend time
together like they always do.
Alexander is coming over to hang out. It
looks like something they do
often. Elias watches as Alexander rides
his bicycle toward the house. And when
Alexander enters the room, they both act
normal, playing games, watching
something. But Elias is watching
Alexander more
closely. He smiles when Alexander
smiles. He seems to really care about
him. They are both young. maybe 14 or
15. But Elias is starting to feel
something stronger than friendship.
Something is happening inside Elias that
we cannot see at first. He is not just
spending time with his friend. He is
feeling something
stronger, something deeper. Elias has
feelings for Alexander. He is not sure
if Alexander feels the same. And he
doesn't know if it's safe to say
anything. He wants to get closer to
Alexander. He wants to touch his hand,
maybe even kiss him. Elias tries to find
a way to tell Alexander how he feels,
but he's scared. What if Alexander
laughs at him? What if Alexander never
talks to him again? Elias looking at
Alexander's
lips. Elias thinking hard.
Elias building up the courage as they
sit side by side. Elias keeps looking at
Alexander. He watches the way he smiles.
He notices how their arms touch.
Sometimes he feels every moment more
deeply than before. But inside Elias's
heart, there is a
storm. He wants to tell Alexander
something, but the words won't come out.
Elias is in a different world now. He's
full of
emotion. He wants to say, "I like you."
Maybe even, "I love you." But the words
are stuck in his throat. He wants to
move closer, but he's scared. These
small moments mean everything to Elias.
He smiles
nervously. He looks at Alexander's
lips. His fingers are shaking just a
little. He wants to move closer, but is
it okay? Can a boy love another boy like
this? Will Alexander
understand? What if Alexander doesn't
feel the same? What if everything
changes forever? Still, the feelings are
strong. He's falling in love. Then comes
the quietest, most powerful
moment. Slowly, Elias leans in. His
heart is beating
fast. Maybe the fastest it has ever beat
in his life. He's
afraid. He's
excited. He's
hoping. He's going to try. He's going to
kiss him. He wants to kiss him. Just
once. He wants to know what love feels
like. Maybe Alexander will kiss him
back. Maybe everything will change.
Elias leans in to kiss Alexander. But
before he can do it, Alexander pulls
away. He doesn't yell. He doesn't get
angry, but we can see he doesn't feel
the same. He stands up and says he has
to go. Maybe he's
confused. Maybe he's just not ready. But
he leaves Elias alone in the room. Elias
doesn't stop him. He just
watches. His chest is
heavy. His mouth stays shut. He doesn't
cry, but you know, deep inside his heart
is breaking. He thought maybe Alexander
felt something too. But now he's not so
sure. And now Elias is alone. This is
what many young people go through. They
fall in love, but they don't always know
if it's safe to say it. The fear of
rejection is real. Elias showed his real
self.
He risked everything for one moment of
truth, but he didn't get the answer he
hoped for. Now he's filled with
questions. Did I do the wrong thing?
Will he ever talk to me again? Am I
weird? What's wrong with
me? Have you ever felt something but
were too afraid to say it? Do you think
Alexander was confused or just not
ready? Let me know in the comments what
you think Elias should do next.
Elias sits there still, quiet, lost in
thought. The world outside keeps going,
but Elias feels
frozen. It shows that even when someone
doesn't say, "I love you back," it
doesn't mean your feelings were wrong.
It means they just weren't ready or
didn't feel the same. And that's okay.
And to anyone watching this and feeling
like Elias, know this. You are not
alone.
Your love is
real. Your feelings are
valid. And one day someone will love you
back the same way. It takes courage to
show your heart. Elias was
brave. And so are you. One day someone
will look at you the same way you looked
at them and they will say, "I feel it,
too.
