to fix the roof.

They just need to sell it.

The good news is, they have
a buyer already lined up --

if this house
can get fixed up nicely.

I'm thinking we take
a look and see if we
can help these people.

This house is in the city of
Apopka, just outside of Orlando.

It's a quiet suburb
with lots of lush parks,

but it's also growing
really quickly,

with lots of new businesses
popping up left and right.

It's perfect for young
professionals and families.

Okay, so, this is the street,
according to the GPS.

It's a four-bedroom,
two-bath house,

that includes
two separate living areas.

The sellers will let us buy it
for 70 grand,

which leaves
enough renovation budget

to fix this up
for a new buyer,

who's willing to pay the market
rate for a nice remodel.

Justin:
There's a couple other sales
in the neighborhood

that seem to put this value

anywhere between $220,000
to $250,000.

for us
trying to get rid of it.

I know this house is
full of trash,

but it's got a lot
of potential,

and as far as major
selling points go,

kitchens are at the top
of that list,

and raise the ceiling,

under these plate glass windows.

I haven't been in a bathroom

a church cathedral-type
feature going on in it.

I feel like there should be
an altar somewhere.

Duke: I like it. Lets a lot

but we're in this
for at least $75,000.

can flip this house in a month.

With all the work in there,
this is a 3-month flip at least.

to their word

and sold us this house

I'm gonna set the renovation
budget at the low end --

around 75 grand --
to maximize profits.

That's an all-in cost
of around $145,000.

If we can hit the high end
of the market

and sell it
for around 250 grand,

that's a nice profit
of around $100,000.

The basic layout of
this house is good,

but there is onething
I want to fix.

Even though the kitchen
is in the middle of the house,

it still feels closed off
from the other rooms,

so we're gonna tear out
the central closets

that separate it from
one of the living rooms

to create a larger space
with better flow.

This will allow us to reclaim
part of the other living room

as a bigger formal dining space.

Then, in the master bath,

those stunning
cathedral ceilings

will get an equally
stunning layout below.

We're gonna put new rods
and shelves in the closets

and, of course, a new vanity
with a granite countertop.

But the coolest feature
will be a seamless shower floor

with no threshold
to step over --

just a smooth flow from the
bathroom floor into the shower,

with a linear drain
along the back edge.

This will make the large,
open room feel even more open.

This is our chance to knock
all that 1970s

right out of that house.

The problem is,
it's already trashed,

so just clearing out
all this junk

is gonna double
our workload.

This is
a monster project.

Considering how fast we have
to turn this house around,

we got to put our demo

can last almost a century --

which happens to be about
how long it takes Keith

to demo a bathroom.

all the broken

and rotting areas
in the ceilings and walls

and put up fresh drywall.

we're framing the tub

with large slate gray tiles

that have a polished look

to help it feel
nice and spacious.

For the back wall,
it's a field tile

with intricate
star-and-cross pattern

some nice vintage character.

And then, for the master shower,
we're leveling off the base

to create a seamless transition
from the floor of the bathroom

and then filling it all in
with matching waterproof tiles.

We're even using
these same tiles

for the sides of the shower

to enhance the flow
and continuity of the space.

Then the back wall is covered

with an interesting
dimensional tile

that gives it
some sophistication,

while maintaining
a modern look.

In addition
to the bathroom work,

we're also putting down
the carpet

in the bedrooms
and the hallways.

We've chosen a textured
medium-pile carpet

in a nice heather gray.

It's soft to the touch,
it's easy to clean,

so it's perfect for areas

that kids might be
running around in.

Justin: We gave ourselves
75 grand for this flip,

and just like that,
half of it's gone,

and we still have that huge roof
repair hanging over our heads.

The bigger problem, though --

our time is almost
three-quarters gone,

so we need to start spending
money fast and furiously

to get this house done in time
for the buyer's deadline.

Today, it's time to get
the outside of our house

looking clean and sharp.

We start with a good power wash,
cleaning off all the brick,

and then hitting
that dingy driveway,

which had years
of caked-up scum on it.

Then we apply the paint.

For the primary color, we're
going with a cheery off-white.

It really
brightens the place up.

Then for the front,

we're offsetting the trim
with a light beige

that has
just a hint of peach to it.

It's a combo that I know
our buyer is gonna love.

First up, we're sealing up
the outside of this house

with some brand-new
energy-efficient windows.

These double-pane units

will keep the house
a perfect temperature,

while adding a nice
dark accent color as a bonus.

Then we're putting in
matching sliding glass doors

to create a unified look
for the entire home.

Next, it's time to put in
our sleek new countertops.

The gorgeous slab we got
from Mystic Granite

is called Bianco Antiquo.

It's got a white base,
and then it has

kind of little bits of brown
and speckles of gray.

It's just super nice.

This rich combo not only
looks great in kitchens,

it also looks great in
the bathroom

and on windowsills.

It's beautiful anywhere.

For the kitchen backsplash,

we went with
a Moroccan-inspired field tile.

It's got kind of
a worn wood look,

and it's very exotic
and also rustic,

so it's a perfect blend of both.

Finally, after a few delays,
we got the sod put in the yard

to kick up that curb appeal

and, boy,
is it making a difference.

Meanwhile, we're finishing off
the plumbing in the bathrooms

and putting bronze fixtures
in the showers.

ready to take the plunge.

The fact that

So we took out the curb
and then sloped the floor

and then moved the drain
to the back,

so now
there's a linear drain,

and there's no curb
to, like,

trip over or step over
or get dirty.

slide right in,

and the grade
goes down for that.

It's amazing.It's awesome.

And I love the 3-D tile.
