Original subtitles

So many trees.

It's beautiful right?

- Definitely not Boston. - No, it is not.

Mommy, make it stop bothering Church.

I think Church is fine.

Not Church which worries me.

We still have at least eight hours of driving.

What!

- It's not funny, Dad. - Of course it is.

WELCOME TO LUDLOW - Yeah, gotcha.

WELCOME TO LUDLOW - Gage, do not you find it funny? - To me it seemed funny.

Based on the novel by Stephen King

What do you think?

That is all?

It's really amazing, right? We even have a forest as a backyard.

Does this place is all ours?

This place is the new domain Ellie the Great and Terrible.

You know what? You can go first.

Keep going.

The movers were here all morning,

so everything should be in.

Well.

- Motherfucker. Are you okay? - Yeah, just it scared me a little.

Gage, big truck, right? It was a big truck, right?

- Very well. - In agreement.

Are you ready, little man?

Here we go. One two Three.

It has adapted quickly.

How about you? Are you ready for life in the countryside?

Let's find out.

Mrs. Creed.

Wait, the cat still in the car.

It all happened so fast. Are you going to miss?

Nobody will miss the night shift in the ER.

That's not really an answer to my question.

Oye.

This is what you needed.

We needed this.

It might be more at home.

- With the kids. - And you'd be a housewife?

I'll have to think about that. Simply, do not do it. What do you think about this?

No...

- Good morning, Marcella. - Ready to start?

- Have you got anyone? - nosebleed, Room 4.

It sounds serious.

Did you hear that?

What are they doing?

It looks like some kind of procession.

What is a procession?

It's like a parade, but less fun.

Let us watch TV. I'm tired unpacking boxes.

Before that. Ellie's birthday is in a few months.

Why are you worried about, Mom? Not all it's rigth.

Children are really happy.

Yes.

It's good to slow down. You know?

Mom ... Can I call you later?

Okay, I love you, goodbye.

Ellie, are you hungry?

PET sementerio

¡Oye!

Get down from there.

The trick is ...

take very quick sting.

It is a small one. Definitely not worth a grand prize.

But you will receive a ribbon.

There you have it.

Yes.

You will soon swelling to.

- Are you the doctor's daughter? - Ellie Creed, but you can call me Ellie.

My name is Judson Crandall.

You can call Jud.

Very well.

Get up.

What is this place?

Pet Cemetery. Did you see the sign?

Yes, they misspelled.

Are all pets of people?

The whole village has been using this place for generations.

I saw these children. They wore masks.

Yes.

Many people make it a ritual. You see this? The I carved myself.

It's my dog, Biffer.

And it's true. It was a great sniffer.

Ellie...

You know you can not go no more.

Friend.

Mom, this is Jud, our neighbor.

A bee stung me. He took the sting. It was a big one.

Pleased to meet you, ma'am.

Pleased to meet you, too. I'm Rachel, her mother.

This forest ...

It is not safe to enter. People get lost.

Thank you, Jud. We must return.

In agreement?

You can not escape. If you do not know where you are, there's nothing I can do.

Clean mud and spread a little baking soda into the ground.

Jud ...

Returns.

- Father! - Yes?

Why pets do not live as long as people?

Good...

Do you remember our conversation about metabolism?

- Is the clock in your body? - Yes.

Humans have a slow metabolism,

a slow clock, so we live longer.

While cats and dogs have a fast metabolism.

- It means that if you stop ... - die and go to Pet Cemetery.

Yes...

Ellie found a nice spot in the woods today.

- Near our backyard. - In agreement.

It does not have to be bad, right?

A place to bury our pets and remember?

It seems scary, but it's not. It is perfectly natural.

Like dying.

We all die and eventually return to earth.

What Daddy trying to say is that ...

although the mascot body be buried ...

his soul will live and go to heaven.

As with Creed grandmother.

Remember how I told you are caring?

I really do not know if this is how it works.

What mommy and daddy are trying to say ...

you do not have to worry about this baby, okay?

Church, Mommy and I will stay for long.

- And Gage? - Sure honey, Gage's just a baby.

What about your sister, mom? Was it not also a child when she died?

Rachel.

Rachel.

- Are you okay? - What was that all about?

I wanted to ask you the same question.

Rachel, Ellie has nearly nine years. We should be able to talk about it.

Ellie is a girl. And death is terrifying for her.

Please, Rachel. We do not have to shield her from it.

Is that what you think I do?

I think all this talk about the afterlife ...

about the people who encouraged, I think ...

It is delay the inevitable, yes.

So, do you really think that there is nothing ...

after death, no heaven, nothing at all?

No.

Well, let's make it consideration.

It could be an allergy ...

but better to be safe.

Please tell me it's lunchtime.

If I see more swollen tongues, I swear to God ...

Judy was for sandwiches.

His head.

Victor Pascow. It is a student here.

The car came out of nowhere. He did not drive.

No time for an ambulance.

Look what your blood type. many bags are needed.

We need to stabilize before it can be transported.

I will not let die, Victor.

Shit!

Type O positive blood. I have 4 bags.

Back, back. Keep your head back.

Hurry up with those bags.

Okay Kelly? We need a collar, to lift it.

- I see your brain. - Kelly, go now!

Victor. Where are those bags? He's losing a lot of blood.

No, Victor. Stay with me. I'm right here.

I'll stay right here.

C'mon C'mon.

Let's go.

Back to me. Came back.

Returns.

Louis...

The barrier should not be broken.

¡Louis!

He is dead.

Hi.

What happened?

A poor boy was hit by a car on campus.

The...

He had no more than 20 years.

His name was Victor Pascow.

I did not expect to see anything like that around here.

Passes, enters. I'll make dinner and then you ducharás. Sorry.

Yes, I knew my name ...

What?

The...

No matter.

¿Jud? I'm Ellie. I made cookies. Are you at home?

Do you think it's normal to check things from other people?

Sorry.

That is your wife?

Yes.

- His name was Norma. - She is beautiful. What happened?

He got sick and died.

Maybe she's still there ... looking down from heaven?

- You think so, Ellie? - You want to come to meet my cat?

His name is Church. The short name of Winston Churchill.

- he lived long ago. - I know who Winston Churchill.

- You must be very old. - I'm afraid so.

Very pretty.

Very well.

Well done, darling.

Can you clap?

- Well done, darling. - Thanks for letting me come.

It's been a long time since I had a good home cooked meal.

How long have you lived here?

- In Ludlow or in that house? - Both.

my life in both cases.

- Big boy. - Church!

- He likes you. - I like it too.

- Church, good kitty. - Yes Church, a very good kitten..

I'm curious, Jud. The real estate agent said ...

the house has 202 square meters of forest.

Also we own the Pet Cemetery?

It is part of your property.

How far is the property line?

That's...

Beyond what you want to go.

Louis...

Come on, Doc.

You tried to help me. Now let me help you.

This is where lie the dead.

Do not go further, to where the dead walk.

Stop. The soil is acidic.

Wake up, Dad.

Hey friend. Come here. Come come.

Come with Daddy.

I love you daddy.

Thank you.

It's time for daddy to rise.

Hello...

Good morning, sleepyhead. ¿You woke Dad?

¿You woke Dad?

- What time is it? - It's late. You fell asleep.

- Hi guys. - Hello, Ellie.

- What have they given you? - I have sweet corn, lollipops and ...

Who is the sheet and who is the ghost? You look like a ghost.

You are already occupied. They look great.

- Thank you! - Thank you!

We must go with Parrison because they give more ...

The...

Take your broom honey. Talk amongst yourselves.

- Be right back, okay? - Very well.

What do Jud? Do you want to frighten children?

There's something you have to see.

It's okay.

Is no Church.

One of those damn trucks Orinco.

- Father? - Shit!

- Father? - Ellie can not see this.

We have to go for sweets and Zoe Tyler.

Yes darling. I'll just tell something quick to Jud.

In agreement?

- You encantaré. - Now you've done it, honey.

Go to self love and I'll go away.

Go with children. Then come back later to clean this up.

In agreement.

Louis...

we have to do this tonight.

Okay, sure.

Are you sure about that?

If I'm sure.

It was all twisted.

Which means that...

we have to tell Ellie.

- we Can not tell you escaped? - Rachel, I ...

Honey, I understand, okay ...

that you find it hard to talk about death,

especially after spending your sister ...

but it's time for you to open.

Only me...

I'm just sad Church.

Rachel, tell me. We both know that this is Zelda.

I've been thinking about it, since we moved here.

I hated that my column was not as twisted as his.

He promised that one day end up like her.

I would never get out of bed.

My parents left me alone with her.

I was supposed to turn up dinner.

We used a small elevator up the food,

but he should not use it, because it does not always work.

He died there, my fault.

I saw them take his body,

but I swear I was still on the walls.

And at night I heard her move. Calling my name.

Rachel...

I did not know who to call. If I had gone up the food ...

Your parents should never leave her alone. Never.

- That makes me a monster. - No, that does not make you a monster.

Come on, hey.

That does not make you a monster. It's okay?

I'll tell you what...

Jud and I'll take care of Church tonight.

Very good and...

We will tell Ellie that got away.

- In agreement? Yes? - In agreement.

Anything but death.

I have a place for you.

What happens?

Nothing. Let's get this over with. It's cold.

- Ellie really loved that cat, right? - More than nothing.

And you love Ellie?

Of course yes.

So follow me.

What?

- I know where to tread. - Jud, wait.

Why not here?

Dammit.

What the hell am I doing?

Jud, wait.

What the hell is this place?

A long way to bury a cat.

What was that?

It's just a sound.

Let's go.

OMG!

What kind of place is this?

Do you feel better?

Yes.

Bury your animal.

I'd help you, but you have to do it yourself.

Use some of these rocks so that it is delimited. Not like the others.

In agreement.

- What are we doing here tonight, Jud? - We are burying the cat of your daughter.

- Only that? - Nothing else.

You did good, Louis.

I knew you would do it.

- What time is it? - It's late.

- You and Jud took care of everything? - Yes, it's done.

Thank you.

What's going on?

It is Church, honey.

Yes.

Papi and Jud searched for Church last night and ...

We looked everywhere but could not find it.

We believe that Church fled, honey.

Yes.

He did not escape.

Good...

He sat by my window last night.

Honey, maybe you saw it in your dreams.

You know?

It's okay to be confused about this.

You'll have to accept that you might not come home. Sorry honey.

He returned last night. Look, it's right there.

- I thought you said he was dead. - I was.

The...

You must have been unconscious or in shock or something.

Luckily you're not a fucking vet.

¿County?

We need to talk.

Ellie's cat walks as if nothing had happened.

- I'll be damned! - What does that mean?

Did not you want that? Does not tell the truth to your daughter?

- You saw that cat was dead. - I did not say it was not.

- How can you explain that? - I can not. Nobody can...

You'll have to tell me something better, Jud.

There are places in this world ...

who they are older than us.

Places that even someone with a rational ...

medical brain like yours, would be able to understand.

Nobody knows what that place is. What happens in the stony soil.

The bottom of a human heart is stony, Louis.

What we did last night ...

We did it for Ellie.

Now's your cat.

Toro was believed dead, was found on the main street.

Veteran Timothy Baterman ...

His body disappeared ...

CEMETERY OF ANIMALS LUDLOW

What the hell ...

666 DE RIVER ROAD, LUDLOW MAINE

Tribelands. That's where we were.

Throughout the swamp.

Where are you took me, Jud?

Church, are very stinky. What did you do outside?

Relax, Church. There is something dirty on your coat.

There you are.

Let me see.

Does it feel good that?

Yes?

I want to go back to our old house.

Good...

Mom and I moved here to go more slowly and so ...

we could spend more time with you. Above...

for papi is around to take you to bed.

To make everything nice and secure.

So you can tickle before wish you good night.

Let's go.

Okay, honey?

I promise you will get better, like your arm.

It's okay?

Do you trust me? Goodnight.

- Daddy? - Yes?

Close the door completely. I do not want Church among more.

In agreement.

I love you.

- How is she? - All right.

Nonetheless.

What about Church?

I do not know. It must have been the accident.

I was wild this morning.

How about you?

I'm fine.

Come here.

It's been tough in recent months.

- Do not! - What? What?

Jesus!

Louis, that is still alive.

Dammit.

Jesus Christ!

Church.

¿Church?

Get out of there, man.

Church...

Destruction ...

and the destruction of all their loved ones about, doctor.

Rachel, what happened? You're good?

I do not want to talk about it.

- Is it a bird? - No, not the bird.

I think it's a mistake that we have we moved here.

It does not seem right, Louis.

You remember why we moved here in the first place?

No, i do not do it.

We have...

Ellie's birthday is approaching.

Let's do something special, a party?

We can...

invite some friends from Boston. Very well?

Even invite your parents, okay?

We can turn around this. We can, we can turn it around.

They look good, El.

Does what is this?

I do not know. Gage drew that.

¿Gage?

Ok, let's go.

I was 11 when I lost Bif.

He got caught in barbed wire and cut infected.

Papi had to shoot him, to get him out of his misery.

- So your dad took you there? - Do not.

It was an old man named Stanley Bouchard.

He told me.

The Wendigo ...

I used to hear a lot about that in the North, in the old days.

It was a myth.

Local tribes passed it this far.

For them, it was not a story of camp.

They believed in it. They were afraid of it.

- Are these trees there? - Yes, they are warnings.

Local tribes recorded them before fleeing.

- Run away? - They knew the power of that place.

They felt their attraction.

They believed that the forest belonged to something else.

The ground was wrong.

Acid. The soil is acidic.

Yes.

So they left, but not until they built this trap.

It was built to keep people out,

but I did not keep people out.

The Wendigo can also be a fairy tale crazy. But there is something there.

Something that makes things return.

What happened to your dog, Jud?

The return.

As Stanley B. said he would, but he had changed.

When he went after my mother, my dad shot him ...

for the second time.

I thought it would be different with Ellie's cat.

Bif already had a bad character, but Church ...

Good...

- it was a good cat. - I thought it would hurt Gage.

I'm sorry, Louis. Seriously.

As soon as you feel the power of that place ...

invent the best excuses to return.

But I was wrong.

Sometimes death is better.

Stay still.

Still, then you can sleep.

Dammit, Church.

Come on, just ...

Dammit.

Let's go.

Oye...

Good luck.

# Happy Birthday to you

# Happy birthday, dear Ellie

# Happy Birthday to you

Very well!

Well done, Ellie.

I want a piece of the end.

Hi.

Still you are thinking about Church?

It's my fault he's gone.

- I told him out of my room. - No, dear, no. Church loves you.

Perhaps this will encourage.

Apriétalo.

- Love, Daddy. - Really, yeah? I love you.

Go enjoy your birthday, okay?

Six seven eight nine ten.

I'm a monster.

Where are, kids? Let's go.

Come on let's go.

¿Church?

¡Church!

Church.

You have come home.

Okay, now your turn.

Honey, where's ...

¡Gage!

Incoming call

Church.

OUR BELOVED DAUGHTER

I'm still thinking...

I hear that climbing the stairs.

And he will return home after school.

I can not be here right now.

I'll take care of some things here.

- Come quickly, I love you. - I love you too.

Behave yourself, friend. Mom takes good care of me. I'll see you in a few days.

Why I saw Rachel and Gage go earlier?

They went to Boston ...

with her parents.

So you just stay there?

Yes.

I'll be there in a few days.

I have still some things to deal with first.

Yes...

That is good. It's a tough time to be separated.

Yes.

You know...

When you came here, I was relieved. He was going to visit.

I should never have shown there.

But you did it.

I know you're thinking of doing, Louis ...

but she will not come back the same. I'm so sorry.

I caused this.

Ellie is the first person who has touched my heart in a long time.

I did not want to be so sad.

It's that damn place. It feeds on the pain in your mind.

Dammit.

I need to close my eyes for a minute.

Hi.

- Why are not you in bed? - I was waiting to hear from you.

I called earlier.

Yes, I've already seen. It was with Jud. We take a drink.

Can not you come with us?

Gage needs you and I ...

I'm really tired, honey.

- Is it okay if we talk tomorrow? - In agreement.

- I love you. - I love you too.

Goodbye.

Dammit.

- Louis, detente. - Sorry I could not help.

- You must let her go. - I can fix this.

Pascow.

Honey, come here. It's okay. Okay, okay.

Go home ...

Pascow said we should go home.

There is nothing there.

There is nothing there.

Papi is almost already there. Hold.

Sorry.

¡Papi!

Where I am?

My little girl.

The, you're home.

At home.

What's going on?

It's just a mess.

Where are Mom and Gage?

They were with grandma and grandpa.

Will they return?

Yes.

I remember my birthday party.

Church coming down the road.

I was so happy you came home.

There was a truck ...

and then everything went dark.

Now everything is fine. You're back.

How back from where?

It's time to go to sleep, okay? I'll turn the lights off.

I'm dead, right?

No my love. Do not.

You are here.

You will stay with me?

Of course yes.

I can hear the forest.

The windows are closed, honey.

That's not what I'm talking about.

Inside.

- Mommy knows about me? - Please, close your eyes.

Oye.

Everything will be fine.

I love you daddy.

I love you, El.

The?

Be careful.

Honey, that's enough. Enough. Ellie, stop.

Enough!

Wear the dress again.

What are you gonna tell him?

Call denied ...

I am going crazy. Something happened last night.

Gage had a nightmare and called out the name of the deceased boy.

I'm going crazy and Gage also.

I just want to hear. Call me please.

Traffic update: Long delay on I-95.

Are you okay?

Mom.

Hello?

Jud, I'm Rachel.

Rachel, you ...

- You were with your parents, right? - I'm on my way back.

Something is happening. I'm worried about Louis.

- Louis? - Can you see if he's okay?

- I've been calling all morning. - Does not answer?

No and...

- I've tried many times. - Well, I'll go there to check.

In agreement.

- Thank you, Jud. I'll be there soon. - See you then.

Genial.

Louis, are you there?

Hello, Jud.

How are you today?

As if he had a hangover, Jud.

- I do not remember when you left last night. - You had fallen asleep.

Listen, I have to re-enter.

Call I've been waiting all morning Rachel ...

and I do not want to miss it, so ...

It's okay?

If you've done something, Louis ...

It's not too late to undo it.

You do not have to worry about me, Jud. I'm fine.

So is. If that is all...

I will re-enter.

I know you're up here.

- Hello, Jud. - Detente, Ellie. Keep calm Please.

Your dear Norma, burn in hell for what you did.

- I saw her there, Jud. I saw her. - Shut. You know nothing about it.

- Did you miss me, Judson? - That's not my standard.

Ellie is suffering. You did this to her.

- not you. It's not you. - you told Louis that place ...

and now we are suffering ...

For all eternity.

But now we are here to take you back,

so you can suffer with us.

Try it, dammit!

Ellie...

The?

Shit.

Rachel, what are you ...?

You're good. Thank God you are okay.

I was so worried. I called, but you did not answer and ...

Gage had nightmares and shouted the name of the boy who died.

I'm here now. I need you and nobody else, just you, me and Gage.

Okay, okay. Come on baby, it's okay.

Look, daddy's boy. You have grown?

Tell me ... you've grown? I think what you've done.

much bigger and you smell so good.

You smell so good.

Louis, what's happening?

I needed more time with her.

Come here. Come.

I...

He was not ready to say goodbye to her.

You are scaring me. Tell me what you're talking.

It was my fault she died, Rach. I had to bring her back.

Ellie.

The Great and Terrible.

There is a place Rach, deep in the forest ...

beyond the Pet Cemetery.

Brings back things.

Are not you happy, Mommy?

Hug your daughter, Rach.

Hug your daughter.

No.

I need to get out of here.

¡Rachel!

She does not want me here.

No no no no no...

Mommy needs time.

It's okay. I did not want her here.

We are fine.

We are ok.

¿Rachel?

Rachel, please open the door. Let me explain you.

I know. Let me explain you.

What is it? What is it...

- That's Ellie. - Do not.

- We buried her, we left underground. - they have returned to us.

- We have a second chance. - That's not how it works, Louis.

So is. There is a place in the forest, I told you about.

I did not understand until I buried Church ...

That cat was dead until he was buried there and that brought him back.

You were not yourself after that.

You clothe yourself.

You touched her. That's our daughter. That's our daughter, baby, please.

In agreement?

I did what I thought was right.

May God take your own damn son.

- Ellie? - You're good.

¡Ellie!

Ellie honey, mommy and daddy ... We're just ...

Shit!

Mom.

It's OK darling. It's okay. Mommy's fine.

Mami is ...

Do not! No no no no no...

No.

Rachel.

Now you'll never get out of bed.

No no!

Stop fighting, useless cow.

¿Ellie?

Shit.

¿County?

Oh Lord!

OMG!

¿County?

Dammit!

Louis, take the baby. Louis!

¡Rachel!

Have the baby. Ellie is trying to kill me.

- Take the baby. - Let it go. Dad, you have. Let's go.

Agree, disagree. I have you.

Daddy needs you to stay in the car. In agreement?

Do not open the door to anyone. Gage listen even to Ellie.

You left me to die on that road.

You did nothing. As with your sister.

I was afraid.

You're a liar, prayed because your sister died.

So is.

Remember when Daddy said there was nothing else? I was wrong.

But it's not heaven.

And you'll get there soon, Mommy.

No me llames "mami".

You're not my daughter.

Ellie is dead.

Then, you can join it.

¡Rachel!

Oh, no.

- Rachel, Gage is safe. - Do not bury me there.

What?

Rachel.

Fuck! Shit.

¡Rachel!

You are too late.

Where are mommy?

Mom is feeding and soil.

What you did, it? Let's go!

You started this, daddy. Daddy...

When we brought her here.

When you buried at Church.

When I buried myself!

Stop fighting, Daddy. It will be better that way.

Please, please just die.

Please...

¡No!

I thought we could be a family, but we can not.

But if we can, papi. Really.
