lining our pockets over theirs.

I think the real shame
is the commodification of yoga,

and how it's, you know,
excluding people

from experiencing
the holistic benefits.

It's a capitalist market,

If there's a demand
and we don't fill it,

of yoga is to be done

in the tradition of seva,

you know,
to be accessible for everyone.

A concept of seva,
however nice it is, is flawed.

Why do you think your Gurdwara
bathrooms are always wet?

People need economic
incentive to do good work.

I think people feel good
just giving to others,

being selfless.

That's kinda
the whole point, you know?

It's integral to
our culture and our community.

Well, Sikh culture, at least.

that we Christians have been
doing community service

well before
Sikhism came about.

Yeah, so you guys are
basically saying the same thing.

Things just aren't as affordable
as they once used to be.

Every generation has hardships.

You just need ambition
and focus to figure it out.

Well, I think your generation
needs some empathy

when it comes
to understanding

that it's not
just about ambition.

sometimes you need support.

Sometimes you need therapy.

someone to listen to you

when you're going through
hardships because it's hard.

it sucks, you know?

Having to resort
to free meals all the time,

helping me with it all.

I mean, I know a thing
or two about social media, so...

Rebecca:

And I just think
with the right backing,

this could be something that

I would be really,
really successful at.

Well, it's
a nice sentiment, honey,

a talented dancer, but,

dance and running a business
are two very different things.

to get this backing?

a bit too ambitious.

My work, my faith,

in all of these things,

and I, for one, would not be

We were lower caste, originally.

He converted to Christianity
and changed our family name,

when my father
was just a boy,

leaving behind
a people and a culture

that didn't respect him.

Taking a higher
and righteous path,

and I, for one, glad he did.

Because, as a result,

God has blessed us
in so many ways.

So, as rigid
as I may seem,

I'm open.

I'm open to those
who are open to embracing

those rich traditions.

If, that is, they do
indeed love this family,

and more pointedly,
my daughter.

she will come around.
