Episode 120

Xiao Yan, representing the Ye Family, participated in Pill Tower’s Five Great Families examination.

In the first stage, he broke the long-held highest record.

Relying on his skillful control of Spiritual Strength,

Xiao Yan successfully passed the second exam stage,

leading to the final stage.

Facing an extremely talented opponent, Cao Ying,

Xiao Yan displayed extraordinary strength, winning first place

and preserving Ye Family’s Elder seat in the Pill Tower.

Unexpectedly, as Xiao Yan was hard at work practicing Soul Techniques for the imminent Pill Gathering,

the culprit behind Yao Lao’s murder, Hall of Souls’ Honorable Elder Mu Gu,

had come to snatch the Flame Mantra.

Spiritual Barrier?

Since you’ve come,

why hide?

As expected of Yao Chen’s disciple.

Your senses aren’t bad.

Hall of Souls member?

I heard that old fellow Yao Chen’s Bone Chilling Flame and Flame Mantra were on your body.

Therefore... I wanted to take them to use.

Sea Heart Flame?

I know there are two Fight Venerates here.

However, with this Spiritual Enclosure,

they won’t be able to help you for some time.

Obediently hand over the Flame Mantra

and I’ll spare your life tonight.

Stop dreaming!

Six Joint Body Flowing Ruler!

Flame Splitting Tsunami!

Stubborn.

Go!

Damn it.

It actually doesn’t react in the slightest.

With your strength,

it’s better to not waste your energy in vain.

Three kinds of Heavenly Flame?

Looks like I’ll reap quite the big harvest this time.

This energy...

is this the Flame Mantra’s power?

Everything

will be mine!

Pill Tower does not tolerate the Hall of Souls running wild in this place.

Xuan Kongzi?

This matter is unrelated to your Pill Tower.

Why meddle in other people’s business?

This is Holy Pill City.

If I allow your Hall of Souls to do whatever you want here,

how will my Pill Tower face others?

Old bastard.

Xiao Yan,

are you alright?

I’m fine.

That fellow is no ordinary person.

You guys should also be careful.

Xiao Yan,

consider yourself lucky.

I look forward to the next time we meet.

Trying to leave?

Xiao Yan,

I will still come for you.

Many thanks, Senior, for taking action to help me.

Naturally, I should take greater care of

the disciple of an old friend.

My original body cannot be withdrawn.

I can only split off my consciousness to intimidate.

Xiao Yan,

from now on, you must be more careful.

Looks like the relationship between Teacher and Pill Tower is still quite good.

Tomorrow, come visit Pill Tower.

I have something to tell you.

Elder Sheng will take you into the Tower.

Also,

watch out for the Profound Xuan Sect.

They should be the ones who revealed information about you to the Hall of Souls.

Profound Xuan Sect?

Elder Ye Chong,

tomorrow, I must trouble you to go investigate the Profound Xuan Sect.

Rest assured.

I will begin preparing now.

Able to display a Spiritual Barrier that escapes our detection...

in the future, we must be careful when facing this person.

His strength is slightly greater than mine.

However, if we were to really fight,

he may not necessarily win against me.

This time, he didn’t get what he wanted.

He’ll definitely visit again.

We need to take precautions.

The Sea Heart Flame is in this person’s hands.

Perhaps Han Feng knows something.

Han Feng,

your Sea Heart Flame,

who in the Hall of Souls did you give it to?

My—my Sea Heart Flame—

indeed, I gifted it to someone in the Hall of Souls.

However,

that person had never exposed their real face and name.

Therefore, I also don’t know their specific identity.

Are you sure you don’t know?

No no no!

No—no no no!

I’ll speak, I’ll speak!

I’ll tell you everything!

It’s the Hall of Souls’ Honorable Elder;

his name is Old Mu Gu.

Not only is he a Fight Venerate, he’s also a Tier 8 Alchemist.

His position in the Hall of Souls isn’t low.

It is said that back in the day, Mu Gu and Yao Chen were once part of the same sect.

Later, for some unknown reason,

Mu Gu was expelled from the sect

and joined the Hall of Souls.

After becoming a lackey of the Hall of Souls,

he developed extreme hatred towards Yao Chen.

As such, he found me.

I—back then, it was because I was influenced by this Mu Gu’s provocation

that my greed was aroused.

For the sake of the Flame Mantra,

I worked with him to harm Teacher.

Why have I never heard Teacher bring this up before?

I—I just randomly heard Mu Gu, that old fellow, mention it once;

that’s how I know.

Good Junior,

it was all because of Mu Gu’s instigation

that I was led astray.

Please let go of me—

You harbored evil intentions from the start.

“Instigation” is nothing but an excuse.

The only course of action now is to first enter Pill Gathering’s Top Ten

and obtain the Three Thousand Burning Flame.

Junior greets Elder Sheng.

Chairman has already been waiting for a while.

Come with me.

Then thanks to Elder Sheng.

Chairman has already explained things.

In a bit, I will help look into that Profound Xuan Sect for you.

If you are still dissatisfied,

go ahead and settle things after the Pill Gathering is over.

Pill Tower won’t ask too many questions.

However, since the Pill Gathering is now about to begin,

extra complications are undesirable.

If Little Friend could, based on the Pill Tower’s face—

Elder Sheng must be joking.

Since you, old sir, have said this,

little one will naturally comply.

Little Friend is a straightforward person.

Please.

Little Friend Xiao Yan,

get ready.

Little Friend,

welcome to Pill Tower.

So this is the Pill Tower?

Chairman,

Xiao Yan has arrived.

Xuan Kongzi

You can go busy yourself.

Yes.

I am Xiao Yan.

Thanks again to Senior for helping me last night.

This fellow Yao Chen’s eyesight

is really quite good.

You praise too much.

Back then, I had a close relationship with your teacher, Yao Chen.

If you don’t mind,

you can call me Uncle Xuan.

Then it is better for little one to obey rather than be formal.

I see that the Bone Chilling Flame’s aura is on your body.

Did something happen to Yao Chen?

Teacher’s spiritual body has already been abducted by the Hall of Souls.

It’s imprisoned somewhere in the Central Plains.

It is indeed as I feared.

Back then, had Yao Chen stayed in the Pill Tower,

perhaps he wouldn’t be targeted by the Hall of Souls.

Unfortunately, his character is carefree,

unfettered.

I already made the person who betrayed Teacher pay a price.

The Hall of Souls that harmed Teacher,

I definitely won’t spare them.

However, the current priority

is to find the place where Teacher is imprisoned.

Right now, Yao Chen is in trouble.

How can I stand idly by?

Rest assured.

Pill Tower will try its best to look for clues about where Yao Chen is imprisoned.

Ten Thousand Year Green Spirit Vine, and Blood Essence Demon Fruit?

Take it.

I know why you are looking for these medicinal ingredients.

Also,

you seem to be very interested in the Fight Technique scroll for Soul Hand Seals.

I will gift it to you as well.

Many thanks, Uncle Xuan.

Teacher.

Chairman.

Now, everyone has arrived.

We meet again,

Xiao Yan.

I am Song Qing. Song Qing

Song Qing I heard about Brother Xiao Yan’s performance in the Five Great Families examination.

I heard about Brother Xiao Yan’s performance in the Five Great Families examination.

Meeting today,

your reputation is indeed well-deserved.

Song Qing is the disciple of Pill Tower’s First Elder;

he is also Pill Tower’s youngest Elder.

His skills are not at all inferior to yours.

Indeed, great teachers produce great disciples.

Alright.

Since you all know each other now,

I will explain the purpose of calling you over.

The Pill Gathering is in a few days.

Because of the Three Thousand Burning Flame,

this time’s Pill Gathering has attracted many factions.

Among them

is the Hall of Souls.

Hall of Souls?

Due to the Three Thousand Burning Flame being sealed for so long,

it has become quite resentful towards the Pill Tower.

This time, the Hall of Souls

aims to capture Three Thousand Burning Flame, which possesses the power of immortality.

Even if they fail to capture it,

it’s very likely that they will directly destroy the seal,

releasing the Three Thousand Burning Flame.

At that time, the entire Pill Region will suffer a devastating blow.

It sure is typical of the Hall of Souls;

if they can’t win, they destroy.

Since you are this worried,

why not directly ban the Hall of Souls from participating?

We cannot use any excuse

to ban qualified alchemists in the Continent from participating in the Pill Gathering.

This has been Pill Tower’s inviolable rule throughout history.

You all are Pill Tower’s favored rising stars of the future.

This time, leading Pill Tower’s disciples participating in the Pill Gathering,

you must give your all.

We cannot let Hall of Souls enter the Top Ten.

Disciple understands.

If Hall of Souls really dares to come,

we’ll make them taste what it’s like to return in failure.

Chairman, rest assured.

With me and Ying’er around,

we definitely won’t let them succeed.

I—I will also try harder.

Xiao Yan,

you aren’t a member of Pill Tower,

but—

Uncle Xuan, rest assured.

The Hall of Souls and I became irreconcilable enemies long ago.

This time, I will definitely give my all.

Good.

You can go prepare.

Yes.

Yao Chen,

unexpectedly, the competition between us

will now be carried on by our respective disciples.

This time, I wonder,

who will win and who will lose?
