[Episode 16: Friendship on one side and love on the other, part II]

Hey! Why did I sleep here?

Are you awake?

Tell me! Why did I sleep in your home?

Did you forget how you were drunk yesterday?

If your mom knew, she would definitely give you a beating.

That's why I brought you to sleep in my home.

Was I drunk yesterday?

You even held a concert in the street.

Then... did I say something I shouldn't have?

You told me a secret yesterday.

You said you like...

Be quiet! Don't let Uncle Lu hear!

I need to warn you that

if you know something you must never say it out loud!

You can't tell anyone.

I'm joking.

You didn't say anything.

I also don't know who you like.

My parents have gone to visit my grandma, so they're not home.

Otherwise, do you think I would dare to bring you here to sleep?

If my dad knew that I took you out for drinks and got you drunk,

he would've beat me to death.

Why didn't you say so earlier?

Also, why didn't you sleep in your parents' room?

Why did you insist on sleeping on the floor here?

I was afraid someone would be scared to death

if she woke up and noticed it wasn't her home in the middle of the night.

Am I that cowardly?

I suddenly remembered that Shen Duo asked me to attend the basketball's club training.

I have to go back after breakfast.

Do you want to come with me?

No, I'll go back in the afternoon.

It's rare for me to come home,

so I have to make sure to eat meals made by my mom.

I couldn't tell that you had such a good appetite.

Wait for me here. I'll go get you a new toothbrush.

Go back home after brushing your teeth.

Otherwise, it would be over if your mom smells your mouth.

You really are quite thoughtful.

Wait!

If my mom finds out that I stayed out all night, she'll beat me to death!

What should I do?

Don't worry. I'll tell you what to do later.

Xiaoju? Where have you been this early in the morning?

I was doing some morning exercises.

I'm all sweaty. I'm going to take a shower.

Hurry and take the shower! Once you're done, come out for breakfast.

Okay.

What is she up to today?

Morning exercise?

Here you are, Lu Shiyi!

Where are the others?

They're all busy, so they can't come.

Why are they so lazy?

How can we win the championship without training?

I'll call them.

You don't need to.

Why not?

I can train with you first.

Did you ask me to come in the guise of having to train?

I'm telling you not to fool me like that again.

I didn't mean that!

Lu Shiyi!

Xiaoju?

The bus is here. Aren't you going?

I want to wait for a bit longer.

Are the two of you coming or not?

Alright. I'm going.

Thank you.

Cheng Lang.

Lin You isn't coming to the university today.

She is accompanying her mom to begin divorce proceedings.

She'll be back tomorrow afternoon.

I have no classes tomorrow morning.

Xiaoju, you can leave first.

- Take care. - Alright.

You're really dumb. I'm here.

You're so childish.

Is the training over?

I was planning to look for you at the basketball club.

Chicken wings. My mom made it.

You treated me to midnight snacks the other day.

- So here's the return present. - Thanks.

What are you looking at here?

I'm looking for any part-time jobs ads. I want to find a part-time job.

Why do you suddenly want to find a part-time job?

Well... I want to help my family.

Then let me help you look.

A waitress? That's easy.

That won't do. It's tiring and dirty.

I am mainly afraid you will eat the food secretly.

Sounds reasonable.

[Hiring: Clothing Sales Associate] [Requirements: Good communication skills and team spirit]

What about the clothing sales associate? That would work, right?

No, it won't do. Look at yourself.

You don't have any taste. How could you sell clothes?

You're right...

Sell computers! [Multiple high paying positions hiring in computer sales]

There's also a commission. For one computer I could get several hundred yuan.

Look closely, it has no basic salary.

Besides, it demands professional knowledge!

Even with Cheng Lang's skills, he wouldn't dare to apply.

Why is it too tough to find a part-time job?

Then private tutoring. They're looking for those who are specialized in Math, Physics, and Chemistry. [Hiring Private Tutors]

Why is no one looking for an English tutor?

It's very popular nowadays to find a foreigner to tutor for English.

By the way, with your English language level and how dumb you are,

you wouldn't want to hamper the students' progress.

You're the one that's dumb and will hamper the students' progress.

I wonder who was the one during high school senior year fighting with Baobao for the last place in class?

Heroes are silent about their past failings.

Did I even need to fight for the last place?

It's good that you know.

Lu Shiyi, are you looking for a beating?

- Return the chicken wings to me. - No!

- Chicken wings– - What are you doing?

There's no such thing as taking back food you have already given.

- You're really... - Return it to me!

Don't actually hit me, okay?

- My bag! - Return it to me!

Don't rip my bag!

It's tasty. Did your mom make it?

Xia Xiaoju brought them for me.

By the way, do you know whom she likes?

Why are you so excited about who she likes?

I am trying to help you, Brother.

I have to know what type of guy she likes

before thinking of a way to help you to pursue her.

Who said I wanted to pursue her?

I don't know whom she likes,

and I don't want to know it either.

As long as she can walk out of the bitter taste of a disappointed love

and become happy, I'll be very satisfied.

That noble?

- Do you need to find someone to deliver the leaflets? - Yes.

Do you want to help me?

Recently Xia Xiaoju is lacking money and is looking for a part-time job.

If you need help, remember to ask her.

Don't worry. I'll pay.

You really don't understand me!

Am I, Huang Jun, the kind of person who looks for petty advantages?

I must pay for it myself!

Nice!

Of course!

Go on drawing.

Lin You.

Cheer up.

Let's return to campus.

Lin You!

Xiaoju, why are you here?

I knew you'd be back today, so I've been waiting for you here.

It's all right. Everything will pass.

[Computer Room]

Students, before class is over

I'm going to assign homework.

Choose someone to work in a pair with.

You need to set up an static web page in one month,

which includes texts, images, and sounds.

Style and content will be decided by your own groups.

That's all. Any other questions?

- None. - Teacher!

- I have a question. - Go ahead, Cheng Lang.

Can I team up with students from the Computer Department?

As long as you can find someone, of course, you can.

But you will get no credits.

Okay. Thank you, Teacher.

What's wrong, Lin You?

Cheng Lang.

Is your audio and video shop still recruiting?

I want to have another part-time job.

You're already teaching at the dance center,

yet you still want another part-time job?

You'll be too busy.

After my parents divorced,

we didn't get any alimony.

As my mom has no job, so...

If you need money, I can help you.

No! No, I am not looking to borrow your money.

I just want to support my mom and I, by myself.

Do you know?

Actually, my mom used to be an excellent piano teacher.

But after she married my dad,

she abandoned her career for our family.

Actually, I think Auntie can return to teach piano.

That way, Auntie can have something to do.

As time passes, she can become happier.

My mom's personality is too delicate.

She hasn't gone to work for so long either.

I'm afraid she can't handle troublesome parents.

Lin You.

You are underestimating your mom.

I think she must be stronger than what you perceive

because she's a mother.

My dad passed away very early.

He loved my mom very much and asked her to do nothing

so you could imagine the life

my mom and me had after he passed away.

My mom didn't know how to do any housework,

and she's very careless.

I remember always eating her half-cooked meals when I was a child.

Later, when she was in her thirties,

she became an apprentice at a barbershop to help pay for my education.

When I went to middle school,

we finally had our own barbershop.

Auntie really is amazing.

So I don't think you should underestimate your mom.

She must be stronger than what you perceive.

I understand.

I'll become someone like you,

amazing and filial, through my own hard work.

You will.

Thank you, Cheng Lang.

I have less than a hundred yuan left.

Why is it so hard to find a part-time job?

Xiaoju! Hurry and come with me!

- Come with me! - What's wrong?
