This is the story of Austin Richard Post,

of Post Malone.

A story of breaking
boundaries, chasing dreams, and

navigating a world that
doesn't always understand him.

I just hope, you know, people enjoy the

guess that's the whole thing that I want.

Austin Richard Post, better
known as Post Malone,

was born on July 4, 1995,
in Syracuse, New York.

Raised by his father, Richard Post, and his

stepmother, Jodi, Post was exposed
to a wide variety of music early on.

His father, a former DJ,
played everything from

hip-hop to country to rock, sparking Post's

eclectic taste in future
genre-blending sound.

At the age of nine, Post's life took

a turn when his family
relocated to Grapevine,

Texas, after his father took a job managing

concessions for the Dallas Cowboys.

It was here that Post's
passion for music truly took root.

Inspired by the video game Guitar Hero, he

picked up a guitar, dreaming
of performing on stage.

In 2010, he auditioned
for the American band

Crown the Empire, but fate took a different

path when his guitar
strings broke mid-audition.

Though his early music
interests gravitated toward heavy

metal, Post Malone's love for
alternative rock and hip-hop soon emerged.

He even made an appearance at Emo Night

in Los Angeles in 2017, spinning tracks by

his favorite alt-rock band,
My Chemical Romance.

His journey into professional
music began with a

heavy metal band before evolving
into softer rock and eventually, hip-hop.

He began experimenting,
laying the groundwork for the

genre-bending artist he would become.

At just 14, Austin Richard Post decided on

a name that would soon become iconic...

Post Malone.

While rumors swirled that
the Malone part referenced

the basketball player Carl
Malone, Post later revealed

that he simply used his last name, Post,

and a random rap name
generator to come up with Malone.

By the time he was 16, Post had

already created his first mixtape,
Young and After Them Riches.

Using the basic audio
editor software, Audacity,

he shared the tracks with
his classmates at Grapevine

High School, and it wasn't long before they

voted him most likely to become famous.

During his teenage years, Post worked at a

chicken express and
dabbled in music for fun.

At 17, he released a synth-pop parody

track called Why Don't You Love Me, under

the alias, Leon DiCino,
intended for a school project.

Little did he know, this playful
experiment would resurface years later.

Soon after high school,
he enrolled in Tarrant

County College, but his heart wasn't
in it, and he eventually dropped out.

Post then took a leap of
faith, moving to Los Angeles.

In Los Angeles, Post joined forces with a

group of artists and producers to
form a collective called Blackard.

They moved into a house in the San

Fernando Valley, where
they recorded music together.

During this time, Post met producers F.K

.I. First, Sauce Lord Rich, and Rex Kudo,

key collaborators who
would help shape his sound.

It was in this house that Post recorded

White Iverson, a song
he wrote in just two days.

The track quickly blew up
after releasing in February 2015.

Within a month, the song had
racked up over a million views.

Post soon caught the
attention of rappers Mac

Miller and Wiz Khalifa, and
major labels came calling.

Well, what do you think

I think it just came out at the right
time with the right, um, you know,

little spark and it just caught
fire and, you know, it just...

And the rest is history.

The rest is history.

In August 2015, Post
signed with Republic Records

and began working with
high-profile artists like

50 Cent, Young Thug, and Kanye West.

A chance encounter
with West at Kylie Jenner's

18th birthday party led
to Post collaborating on

Kanye's track Fade for his
album, The Life of Pablo.

Around the same time, Post struck up a

friendship with Justin
Bieber, who invited him to

open for his Purpose World Tour.

In April 2016, Post
Malone dropped his single

Go Flex on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show,

keeping the momentum of
his rising career going strong.

The following month, he
released his first mixtape

named August 26th, a nod to the
anticipated release of his debut album.

By June, he made his national
TV debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Around the same time,
although he was considered

for XXL's 2016 freshman
class, rumors began to

circulate that Post was
shifting away from hip

hop toward rock, pop, or country.

However, he quickly shut
down those claims, reaffirming

that his upcoming album
was firmly rooted in hip-hop.

After a few delays, his debut album Stoney

was finally released in December 2016.

While Post himself later
called the album, Mediocre,

it featured the hit singles
Congratulations with Quavo

and Deja Vu with Justin Bieber.

By October 2017, Stoney
had been certified double

platinum, thrusting Post
into the spotlight and laying

his future out before him.

In early 2017, Post
Malone announced the title

of his next project,
Beerbongs and Bentleys.

Initially set for a December
release, however, the

album was delayed until 2018.

In September of that year, he dropped its

first single, Rockstar,
featuring 21 Savage.

The song quickly climbed to the top of

the Billboard Hot 100, staying
at number one for eight weeks.

Rolling Stone declared Post one of the most

popular musicians in the country.

In early 2018, Post
teased a new collaboration

with Ty Dolla $ign titled Psycho, which was

officially released in February
and debuted at number

two on the Billboard Hot 100.

A few months later, it reached number one,

marking Post's second chart-topping hit.

Around the same time, Post
announced that Beerbongs

and Bentleys would be released on April 27,

2018, and previewed the song Stay, during a

Bud Light dive bar show in Nashville.

When the album dropped, it
shattered Spotify's first-day

streaming record, with
78.7 million streams globally.

Debuting at number
one on the Billboard 200,

it sold 461,000 album-equivalent units in

its first week and was certified
platinum within four days.

The album produced several
hits, including three top-ten tracks

and six that reached the top 20.

Post Malone has often
faced accusations of being

a culture vulture, with critics
from various publications

and social media accusing him of
appropriating African -American culture.

In October 2017, California
rapper Lil B tweeted,

Post Malone is slowly
turning into a white dude.

LOL he's pushing it.

Give it a few years, he gon' be
full country, and hate blacks LOL.

Post responded to the
criticism in an interview,

expressing frustration that his white
skin was being used against him.

By January 2018, he went on a rant

while intoxicated, directly
addressing those who labeled him

a culture vulture.

In a later interview with
GQ, he acknowledged

the complexities of being
a white rapper, explaining

that it was a struggle.

In another controversy, during
a November 2017 interview

with Polish media outlet
Nuance, Post Malone criticized

modern hip-hop, saying it
lacked depth and real meaning.

He added, If you're looking to
think about life, don't listen to hip-hop.

His remarks sparked backlash
from other artists, including

Lil B and Vince Staples, who
publicly denounced his views.

Post later addressed
the comments in a Twitter

video, clarifying that it
had been a beer-tasting

interview and insisting
that he loves hip-hop.

It's funny because who the f***
am I to tell you don't listen to this and

whenever you want to feel
something, don't listen to this.

you should feel a certain way

Nuance refuted his
claim, stating that he barely

In a follow-up statement,
Post explained that

his comments were about
personal reflection, noting that

when he's feeling emotional,
he listens to Bob Dylan.

What I was saying was that when
I want to sit down and cry, listen to

Bob Dylan and his
guitar, just like everyone

else, no matter how hard you are, no

matter where you're
from, you're gonna have a

time where you sit back and reflect
on your life and you listen to what you

want to listen to.

For me, that's Bob Dylan.

Yet despite the controversy,
Post's career continued to accelerate.

In May 2018, he revealed plans to start

his own record label and
film production company.

He also won Top Rap Song at the

Billboard Music Awards for
Rockstar and announced the

creation of Posty Fest, a festival in his

hometown of Dallas, featuring a
blockbuster lineup, including Travis Scott.

In August, Post broke
Michael Jackson's 34-year

record for most weeks on Billboard's Top R

&B Hip-Hop Albums
chart, with Stoney spending

77 weeks on the chart
compared to Jackson's Thriller.

Later that year, Post
previewed his track Sunflower,

a collaboration with Sway
Lee for the Spider-Man

Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack.

The song received an
insanely popular reception and

made history by becoming the
first-ever R .I.A.A. double diamond single.

By November 2018, Post
confirmed he was working

on his third album,
recording it in his Utah home.

His success continued into
2019, when Beerbongs and

Bentleys received four Grammy
nominations, including Album of

the Year and Record of the Year.

In mid-2019, Post released
Goodbyes, featuring Young

Thug, and announced The
Runaway Tour with Sway Lee.

He also teased the track
Circles, which premiered

at his Bud Light dive bar concert and

was officially released
at the end of August.

Post then revealed his third
album, Hollywood's Bleeding,

would be released on September 6, 2019.

The album debuted at number one on the

Hollywood's Bleeding was
later nominated for Album of

the Year at the 63rd Grammy Awards, further

cementing Post Malone's
place as a major force in music.

On March 12, 2020, Post Malone performed at

Denver's Pepsi Center in front of a sold

out crowd of 20,000 people, one of

the last large-scale
indoor gatherings in the

U.S. before the COVID-19
pandemic lockdowns began.

Despite growing concerns
about the virus, the concert

went on, drawing criticism
for not being canceled.

Shortly afterward, Live Nation
postponed the remainder of

his U.S. tour dates for March 2020.

In the same month, a video surfaced showing

Post Malone stumbling
and acting unusually during a

performance of his
song, I Fall Apart, sparking

concern among fans about his health.

24, 2020, Post announced
during a livestream that

Later that month, he

Barker on drums,

the World Health Organization's
COVID-19 relief efforts.

The performance was
well-received, earning praise from

Nirvana's surviving members,

In June 2020, Post was featured on Tyler

Yowie's single Tommy
Lee, followed by a remix

in July that included
Tommy Lee himself on drums.

Post Malone continued collaborating
with other artists, including

a feature on DJ Khaled's song I Did

It in 2021, alongside
DaBaby, Megan Thee Stallion,

and Lil Baby.

That November, he teamed up with The Weeknd

for the track One Right Now, the lead
single for his upcoming fourth album.

Night Live, where Malone also

performed Love Hate Letter
to Alcohol with Fleet Foxes.

In May 2022, Post Malone shared the news

that he and his girlfriend
were expecting their first child.

A month later, during an interview on The

Howard Stern Show, he
revealed that the couple

had gotten engaged and had
already welcomed their daughter.

While they have kept
her name private, Malone

marked the occasion by
tattooing her initials, DDP,

on his forehead.

In August 2022, his documentary
film Runaway premiered

on Amazon Prime Video,
offering behind-the-scenes

glimpses of his 2019 Runaway tour.

revealed he was working on

a new album, kicking
off the excitement with

the release of Chemical on April 14, the

lead single for his

On May 16, 2023, Malone
officially announced his

fifth studio album,
Austin, set for release on

July 28, 2023, dropping three more
singles following the announcement.

I feel like a lot of people look

outwards for inspiration, especially,
you know, in COVID and everything.

Everybody's had a lot
of times themselves, and

I've kind of realized, like, you gotta look

inwards for inspiration sometimes.

I think for this record, it's a life
of its own, you know, and it has

feelings and it has emotion.

It's super raw, and it serves its
purpose as an expression of who I am.

Additionally, on July 17,
2023, Malone collaborated with

Noah Cahan on a re-release of Cahan's

single Dial Drunk, featuring
new vocals from Malone.

His song climbed the
Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No.

25.

To top off his 2023, Post Malone received

the Hal David Starlight
Award, an honor recognizing

talented young songwriters
whose original songs have made

a substantial impact on the music industry.

Howard Stern Show, Post
Malone shared his thoughts

on the idea of recording a country album.

When Howard Stern
asked about his interest in

country music, Post replied,
Honestly, there's nothing stopping

me from just setting up a camera in

my Utah studio and recording a
country album to share on YouTube.

I'm allowed to do that.

I'm a human being.

By 2023, Post had taken his first steps

into country music,
collaborating on a re-recording

of Joe Diffie's Pickup Man.

The track marked his debut on the Hot

Country Songs chart, landing at number 34.

In March 2024, Post
was featured on Beyonce's
