In order to breed a cow,

we've got to go in
the old back door here.

Now, lubrication
for animal comfort.

This is when all
the magic happens.

It's just simply a matter of
bringing the gun to the cervix

and then slowly
release the semen.

I am not scared to
get dusty, muddy,

literally covered in crap,

and it's just that simple.

So whatever you've
got, you bring it on.

And I will guarantee
you, I'm gonna crush it.

I'm just not sure
anybody can survive here for 21 days.

It is hot as

I'm Canadian.

This is definitely
not Saskatchewan.

It was below freezing, with
snow all over the ground

when I left home.

So, I am way out of my
element here in the Philippines.

Giddy up.

Gosh, dang,
I'm feeling pretty excited.

Also pretty wet.

Because in the Philippines,
weather changes fast.

One minute it's sunny,

next minute it's raining.

But as beautiful as it is, looks
like it could be dangerous.

Wet ground, rocks, snakes.

And I hate snakes.

So I'm a little nervous
to get naked here.

What a place.

Fire might
be a little difficult.

I guess this is the
moment of truth.

What in my life has prepared
me for something like this?

I am a farmer, born and bred,
fifth generation in my family.

We are in the business
of grain production,

hay production,

and a fun little side hustle
I have, selling bull semen.

This is the kind of sexy beast
that the babies all come from.

Farmers typically
have more tenacity,

more resilience than most people

growing up in urban communities.

You've got to be tough mentally.

You've got to be able to
withstand a lot of pressure.

I've been married for 13 years.

I have two kids and I'm 40.

I mean, like a lot of women,
I've spent the majority of my life

making sure everyone
else is taken care of.

mountain in our way,

For their challenge,

Ashley and William are entering

the searingly hot
and humid jungle

of the Philippines Sinago Cove,

a dense tropical highland
that descends abruptly

into a rugged coastline of
sharp rocks and coral reefs.

Here, they will attempt
to survive 21 days

with only four survival items,

navigating a terrain
littered with thorns.

They'll be exposed to
venomous redback spiders,

who deliver an
excruciating bite,

and some of the deadliest
snakes in the world,

including lethal pit
vipers, the spitting cobra,

that can spit a blinding
stream of venom at its prey

nearly ten feet away.

And the banded sea krait snake,

whose venom is
ten times more toxic

than that of a rattlesnake.

Weather in this
region is unpredictable.

Dry days with
temperatures in the 90s

can suddenly give way to vicious
downpours and tropical cyclones,

whose winds reach speeds
up to 80 miles an hour.

Ouch.

Definitely all kinds
of humid in here.

Not a breath of wind.

Humid as a mother.

It's a hot day.

You can definitely feel
the effects of the sun.

It's a long walk at this point,

and we're really
worried about sunburn.

When I left, we
were minus 50 to 55.

Saskatchewan anymore.

All in all, the vibe with
my partner is really good.

But she's northern,

so I'm a little
concerned with that.

Wonder how she's
gonna do in the heat.

Well, things are
definitely opening up here.

a piece of paradise.

So, my partner has never
been in the ocean before.

Came to the ocean,
but never got in it.

Pretty big deal. You don't
get to do this every day,

not where I come from.

The water is nice and warm.

The rocks are good and sharp.

Just everything
you could ask for.

She walks in and really gets a
good feel of that sea on her legs.

And I was pretty
stoked for her, too.

right out of the ground.

Hopefully,
that's our water source.

This water spring that we have
is the Cadillac of things here.

It comes out of the side,

just kind of down the whole beach,
really, and it ends up in the ocean.

We're really lucky right
now to have something

that's that clear
and that clean.

It's not swamp water.

It's not baboon butt, it's
not all those kinds of things.

So very, very, very
blessed.

I mean, the sand,
I'm a little nervous about,

We're here on Paradise Hill.

And today, I'm
your host, William.

A reasonable, passive
way to catch fish

is with a cone fish trap.

Basically, you get the
general structure happening.

If you want to tie
it right up here,

as tight as you can get it.

For our two-part
funnel fish trap,

your tie sticks together
to make the main body.

I'm gonna make a center ring
so we can hold the structure.

Then you weave the cordage
in and out around the sticks

to make a nice, tight basket.

That's the concept right there.

Fish goes in the hole.

And the idea is
that he gets trapped

in this, back here
in the bottom.

And... that's pretty much it

Look at this.

There's a hermit crab.

Nice, good job.

That's
a good sized one.

Look at this guy.

So now, we
have bait for the fish trap.

Super stoked to
get that out there.

The one issue
that I have is my metabolism.

It's so high. I came out

Back home, that's an okay thing.

taking a toll on me.

Within the stinging
exterior spines of the sea urchin,

ticket that we need

to kind of boost
up morale, I think.

is figure four deadfall.

We need to make sure
we've got good, sturdy sticks

and take our stick,

make some grooves.

I like to do that, because
it kind of locks the stick in.

And take our stick.

that it fits in our groove.

Just putting some bait there.

Basically just guts from the
snake we've already eaten

and a couple of sea urchins.

Pack the bait
around the trigger.

I don't know. I
don't hear anything.

deadfall trap to catch a mouse.

Right now I've got all of these

intrusive thoughts coming in.

Those feelings of self-doubt.

He's got to hit

When I stand
up, I get dizzy. So...

My body is depleted.
There's no fat on it.

So with the calorie loss,
every time I stand up,

it's like the blood pressure
or blood drops from the head

and just completely
go to blackout.

grab a hold of something,

take deep breaths.

I'm really
worried about my partner.

His body is fading fast.

William's way
more tapped than I am.

And, like lately, really
been getting dizzy,

like, almost passing out spells.

It had me really concerned,

because all it takes
is one wrong move

and then he's gonna
fall, and he's gonna

crack his skull
open on those rocks.

I don't want to have to
round this up by myself.

Well, the trap went off,

but alas, no mouse.

chasing this sucker around.

He comes and eats at the same
time every night, like clockwork.

Every time we trap him,

turns around and we'll reset.

He'll come and
hit the trap again.

We've change it up every day.

But I can't get this
little mother.

Whatever you do, don't drop it.

Levels of energy at this point,

like, it's pretty low right now.

I think it's just whatever
stage of starvation

our bodies are currently in.

If I get it to the grassy knoll,

that's all I'm gonna
have in me for now.

bigger than I thought originally.

I thought he was little.

The way he's escaping my
trap. I think he's a good-size.

Obviously, we fattened
him up like a little pig now.

don't get him is that I'm a failure,

until they reach deep water,
where they'll be picked up.

This is a hot, humid,
thick ass jungle.
