The first thing I do after the wedding,

even sometimes before I'm finished downloading, is I

send the clients an email the morning after

the wedding.

And this is really important because I want

to reset their expectations.

Last time we communicated to them about how

long they'd have to wait for their wedding

photos was usually most likely the Skype.

And the wedding itself is only the start

of the creative process for us.

It will be living and breathing your wedding

for up to 12 weeks.

And so I want to reset their expectations

about that because often they've forgotten.

So I send this email and there's a

few key points in it, right?

Obviously I'm going to talk a little bit

about their wedding and how amazing it was.

I'm also going to talk about we've got

this massive job in front of us, but

we're really excited to dive into it, but

that good things come to those who wait.

And we're going to get them a few

sneak peeks as quick as possible, but they

can expect all their images between January 1st

and 3rd or something like that.

I give them an exact date range.

I don't even just say 12 weeks from

now.

I give them an exact date range so

they can know when they can expect their

images.

And I usually pick the latest dates I

possibly can so that if we're done earlier,

it's more like we're over delivering.

So this email has really curbed a lot

of the questions that we get from clients,

you know, especially right after the wedding and

they're all excited to see their photos and

do you guys have any sneak peeks for

us?

You don't even have to edit them.

Just I really want to see something.

This email prevents us from getting all those

emails.
