Storm Eye

Episode 14

Call again.

Hello? Lu Lu?

Sister, why isn't dad picking up his phone? Nothing happened, right?

Wait a second.

Lu Lu, go ahead.

I called almost 10 times, his phone is always off!

Don't worry, don't worry. It's my fault for not telling you.

He's on vacation, the earliest he'll be back is next month.

That scared me to death! Why would he turn off his phone?

People at the company kept calling him.

He couldn't avoid it, so he had to turn it off.

He went out this time because he wants to calm down.

When he has time, he will call us.

Really? When did dad become so free?

Lu Lu, how's your graduation situation?

Don't bring that up, sister.

I'm about to collapse!

If my graduation is postponed, help me hide it from dad.

I'm scared that if he knows, he's going to get really mad.

Okay.

Hello, Zhou Lian?

Fei Fei? Are you okay?

Why didn't you pick up my calls?

Sister, Lu Lu was looking for me, I couldn't pick up.

Oh, okay.

How are you recently?

We haven't seen each other in so long.

Everything's fine.

How about you?

You're lying again. I can hear through your voice that you're upset.

How about we get in touch tomorrow?

No, I'm really okay.

All right, then I'll make this short.

When I left your house last time,

I accidentally took your coat.

How about I bring it to your office tomorrow?

Don't. Would you not become my servant then?

I knew you would say that,

being so self-conscious. I'll see you in the store tomorrow.

I'm really busy these days.

How about you keep the coat for now?

Fei Fei, I know you're really busy.

I just want to see you.

I know.

Then I'll see you in two days?

I'm fine, relax.

Okay then.

Then take care of yourself, sister. I'll wait for your call.

Don't push too hard. She'll get suspicious.

But how can I probe her if we don't meet?

Let's wait until she gets the things.

Director Miao, good morning.

- Hello Director Miao. - Morning.

Do you have time now?

Yes.

A colleague told me that they went to find you at HR,

- but you were never there. - Yes...

I do go out a lot during business hours.

Director Ma, does your job need you to leave the office?

It's because I am learning about the company's new products.

They are using high-end devices used in the medical industry.

Maybe it's too high-end. It's not easy to sell.

I know this.

Then after considering this situation,

I am prepared to hire a salesperson who has a lot of network resources

and veterans with a lot of work experience .

To tell the truth, this sort of person is not short of work.

If we call them to Dinghua for an interview,

it might appear to be a little arrogant.

So I think it's more sincere to visit them.

Sorry, my attitude just then wasn't the best.

It's all right.

Actually, there is a lot of things that I need to slowly adapt to.

You just entered the company, you can't talk about the deep feelings you have for it.

But really, it's very important to me.

I can see that you have been working hard.

I really have to thank you.

Lao Wu?

What is it, Engineer Yu?

Help me by getting a cup of hot milk.

All right, okay.

Wait, take this cup.

Thanks.

- Engineer Yu? - What's wrong?

Lao Wu is a research assistant.

Didn't you watch him work hard with them?

Wait, are you free too?

Ma Shang's coming.

Zhang Jianqui confessed.

He confessed this fast?

He receives a large amount of cash every month.

But all his living expenses are used for electronic expenses.

His assets are way too big.

Tianlin City National Security Bureau seized his assets. He had no way to hide it.

Same as I thought.

Wu Miao is collecting Dinghua's data for Tianxing Technology.

At first, I thought Wu Miao stole the technical information.

I got confused.

With his position, what valuable information can he get?

Business competition is the same as war. There is an offensive and a defensive.

That's right. As a researcher, Wu Miao

is clear of each project's strengths and weaknesses.

He revealed everything to Tianxing Technology.

Tianxing Technology can then publicly report this.

On one hand, you can seize this opportunity.

On the other hand, you can secretly

attack the disadvantages of Dinghua's project.

They're so ruthless.

What Zixuan just says does have some sense.

Even if Wu Miao doesn't have access to Dinghua's core technology,

he must have calculated that the data should be sold for a lot.

Zhang Jianqui must have a lot of things to do.

Let's wait for Wu Miao's arrest so we can question him.

Zixuan? Are you watching them?

Of course.

He can't escape from SkyEye with his sense of direction.

What are you thinking about so seriously?

I was thinking..

We have always wanted to catch a big fish. But when we cast the net

We caught everything.

How many small fish and shrimp do you think are hiding at Dinghua?

This matter, I definitely need to promote inside Dinghua.

I'll look at who resigned.

Whoever dares to resign, I'll check whoever they are. I won't skip over one!

"Whoever dares to resign, I'll check whoever they are. I won't skip over one."

You're amazing!

Alright. Alright. Let's talk about the big fish.

What do you think Miao Fei just told you meant?

You guys were all listening?

What else would we be doing.

According to our plan, tonight she should be making a copy of the key.

But combining that with what she said to me,

don't you feel like she was explaining what happened after the fact?

My father previously told me that it was he who recommended you.

I know he wants me as soon as possible...

to seize an opportunity to win you over, and expand your influence in the company.

I previously also had that thought myself.

But now I understand.

The greater the desire is, the greater the price you pay.

The end result won't be good.

But many people, because of their own desires...

sacrifice the interests of others.

Clearly knowing that they shouldn't take risks.

If the company's management becomes like this, then Dinghua will be done for.

If Xu He is arrested, Miao Fei's cooperation with us will also be terminated.

The Trojan Horse that she embedded into the computer also had its price.

So to say, it's also another kind of explanation.

Perhaps...there is another possibility.

That Miao Fei has actually realized your true identity,

so she purposely told you these things

so that she can create her own image with you.

But Miao Fei is also not someone with discerning eyes.

There is no problem with Ma Shang's identity!

Today she said something to me

that made me really pay attention. She told me...

You treat everyone with a certain amount of distance, not too far away, but also not too close.

You're not like the majority of people eager to gain quick success.

Dinghua needs people like you.

This may in fact be a mistake in my work.

Actually, I don’t really want to get involved in workplace matters.

But often times, due to lack of desire, it's hard to make a firm stand.

Truth is the truth.

But I think... you're thinking about it too deeply.

However you put it, Miao Fei's every move

is now all within our monitoring range. Even if she really has a problem...

it's hard to do anything.

Four teams are in place.

Section Chief An, Miao Fei's movements are in the building. We can't do anything about this.

Why do you still want this group to be on standby?

Someone in Dinghua must be monitoring Miao Fei.

Seeing that she succeeded, Xu He must be asking for immediate transaction.

By then, it will be too late to ask for deployment.

Right.

How come there's so much static?

It's too rainy. It's interfering with the signal.

Director Miao, why are you here?

Did Professor Zou already leave?

Looks like it. Did you have something to talk about?

Nothing urgent. We can discuss it tomorrow.

It's raining very heavily. You guys don't plan to hurry up and go home?

There is probably traffic on the road anyway. It would be better to stay and work overtime.

- I'm heading out. - Take care.

There are people working overtime in the R&D department, what should I do?

Director Miao, you're off work.

I had to deal with something.

Did you come to find Yu Haoran?

Yes, for something about work.

- Alright, I'll get going. - Okay.

Goodbye, Director Miao.

Lao Yu, you haven't called it a day yet?

No, I realized a little problem. Still need to wait a little bit.

What small problem?

This is not right.

Let... Let Cheng Gong take care of your small problem.

Cheng Gong...

No...

The food is already ready. I'm waiting for you.

Be quick.

Lao Wu, could you help me out?

Could you help me finish this?

It's really easy. It shouldn't be a problem!

Thank you, Lao Wu!

- Lao Wu, there's a problem here. - It's here. Let's go.

Still that place?

- Lao Wu. - Yes?

Tidy up. Time to leave work, and go home.

Right now?

When were you planning on going home? They went to go eat and drink.

We don't have our own lives?

It's all work. Why do you have to work overtime for him?

How about I stay until I get it done?

Alright.

Take care.

The office is empty. l'll continue on with the plan.

Finished?

It should be finished. Prepare to listen to incoming calls.

- Got it. - Got it.

What's happening?

- What's going on? - Right in the middle of checking it now!

Checking. It's back to normal. It appears that the lightning strike was too close just now, and it interfered with the signal.

What should I do next?

Go home as usual. We'll follow you.

Did you get it?

I got it.

Great.

In an hour, go to the Tiandu Mall. Wait for my call.

You're really going to go?

It won't work if I don't go. How would the plan advance?

How am I going to explain this to Jeffrey...

I'll be careful.

You don't need to use Xu He's identity this time.

It's not that convenient to pretend to be an old man.

Besides, I don't plan to meet with her this time.

Sister!

Open the door, Sister!

Sister. It's me. It's Lu Lu!

Sister. Open the door! What's going on?

What are you trying to hide from me? Hurry up and open the door!

Sister!

Are you home? I know you are definitely there. Hurry up and open the door!

Sister!

Sister! Open the door! What are you trying to hide from me?

Today, I need you to tell me clearly what's going on. Don't think I don't know you are there!

Sister! Open the door!

What's going on?

Sister! Open the door!

Lu Lu, what are you doing here?

You need to tell me the truth today!

What's going on with our father?

His phone has been shut off for awhile.

It's been so many days, and he still hasn't called to say if he's okay.

What exactly are you keeping from me, Sister?

What thing could I be keeping from you?

Don't think about it too much. Right now, I need to leave.

Sister!

Can you stop trying to play me?

How is it possible Dad could go missing for so many days without sending a message?

- Is it that the National Security Bureau people— - Lu Lu!

When was the last time you contacted Miao Huanyang?

You can't go. This has to be a trap.

Zhou Lian.

There is no way that Miao Fei knows their house is being watched.

When she leaves the house, you can take the cameras down.

Do not freak out.

If you show any weird signs now, you might as well run away!

Wait for me. Wait for me.

You know all of the surveillance locations of Miao Fei's residential area, right?

This can interfere with the signals within ten meters.

Remember. It can only interfere with it, not delete anything.

Don't be photographed.

Take my car and go. Please, please be careful.

Ma Shang, no one could expect this type of situation.

Hey, An Jing.

Miao Fei just sent me a message.

Before she opened the door, she was worried that Miao Lu would slip up and say something.

So she first put the phone that Xu He gave her in the bathroom.

That's great!

Regardless of exposure, this is our only opportunity, so we just have to keep going forward with it.

Understood.

This Miao Fei is talented.

Zixuan, hurry up and send the construction drawings of the mall.

Okay!

Stop looking so often!

Section Chief, reply when you receive this.

Du Meng.

The target never appeared. How do we proceed?

Keep waiting.

Got it.

It doesn't make sense.

If it is monitored by a cell phone,

actually the range is pretty small.

You think because of the weather he got stuck in traffic?

That could be possible.

Zixuan, let's give An Jing a video call.

- The target still isn't here. - An Jing, listen to me. Suppose the target has realized there is a problem.

You think a big reason as to why that is could be because of the conversation between Miao Fei and Miao Lu.

The cell phone monitoring range is limited, it's unlikely.

I just thought about this whole idea, I didn’t find any loopholes.

What about you over there?

I also didn't find anything.

All the previous actions were executed in accordance with our arrangements.

In that case, Miao Lu suddenly appearing

was the only accident in the whole process.

So the problem seems to appear from the conversation that two of them had.

It's likely.

But...

It's just one small thing, really just a little thing.

Is it possible...

that the problem lies within her home?

That's it! Her home could be monitored!

If the other party already knows we are working together with Miao Fei,

they will definitely find a way to erase their tracks first.

An Jing, did you get that?

I got it.

Du Meng, respond to this message.

Responding.

Come get me immediately, the faster the better.

Yes.

- Wang Zuo. - Received.

Immediately replace me in command.

If within an hour the target has not shown up,

cancel the operation. Take Miao Fei home.

Got it.

- Turn left up ahead. - Okay.

Where are we going?

It's possible that Miao Fei's home is being monitored.

If this really is the case, the other party must be eager to erase their tracks.

Go find the neighborhood's surveillance.

Section Chief Chen. It's me, An Jing.

I need technicians here.

The rain is too heavy, I couldn't see anything.

Section Chief An,

there were no abnormal signals found.

According to you, we can't eliminate the fact that the equipment have already been removed.

- Can you find the traces? - We need time.

Okay.

Section Chief An, the target didn't appear.

No Signal

Am I no longer useful to you?

I have never used you, Miao Fei.

During this time, you've been cooperating well.

It's just that today's result was unexpected.

But I still have to thank you.

I'm sorry.

I really didn't know Lu Lu wanted to come by.

This isn't your fault.

Then what do we do now?

Will he show up again in the future?

That...we can't say for now...

but if this matter comes to light,

I will send our people to protect you.

Don't worry.

For this period of time, did you observe anything unusual in your house,

like...

some things at home have been moved?

Or when you were watching TV or calling someone,

the network signal fluctuates obviously?

I didn't pay attention.

Now, our observation team has to conduct a comprehensive investigation.

So... you might have to live somewhere else.

Do you have anywhere to go?

I can live at my dad's house.

All right.

Take as few things as possible.

It's best that things stay intact here.

Then... can I go back to work?

After our collaboration has ended,

do I have to leave Dinghua?

Can you stop fidgeting?

Who can eat?

You can't solve a problem on an empty stomach.

Come eat. Let's talk while we eat.

Could it be that Miao Fei made some small gesture?

Our investigation department runs three shifts a day to to keep an eye on her.

You have been wiretapping most of the time.

If it really was Miao Fei who warned Xu He,

then she's the most powerful spy I've ever met.

From when she agreed to collaborate with us,

all her emotions and behaviors are complete and coherent.

Miao Fei and Xu He definitely can be working together.

She worked with us to clear her suspicion,

and Xu He kept giving her orders just for show.

But this kind of theory

can only go based on facts and evidence.

I agree with Department Chief Song's view.

This process is way too complicated.

The enemies must be under tremendous pressure.

They won't treat this great game as a game.

Under such normal circumstances,

they will choose a more direct and effective method.

Instead of imagining the enemies as supermen,

why don't we review our loopholes first?

Before you came, Ma Shang and I did a test.

Based on that situation then,

Xu He couldn't have possibly got through the cellphone and listened to the conversation between Miao Fei and Miao Lu.

Should we prepare thoroughly then?

Xu He was just testing Miao Fei.

He may still continue to request for the transaction.

Don't exclude this possibility,

but I still think that Miao Fei's house was being wiretapped.

From when Miao Fei and Miao Lu left until we rushed there, there was more than an hour in between.

It's sufficient time for the other party to remove the wiretapping device.

This is troublesome.

Moreover, the wiretapping devices are getting smaller.

They can be installed and removed without any traces.

Unless the other party made an amateurish mistake,

our technical staff can't confirm your speculation.

I viewed the CCTV of the community of Miao Fei's family. There was nothing suspicious.

It was mainly due to the hold-up by the heavy rain.

The visibility of the outdoor CCTV was too low.

We couldn't even record the number plates of cars entering and exiting the gate.

Furthermore, the indoor CCTV was affected by lightning.

There were repeated signal interferences.

There's no way for us to judge if they were tampered with by someone.

There were also interferences in our signals.

Could it be possible that someone notified Xu He?

Don't forget that Miao Fei's testimony that Xu He has his own spy in Dinghua.

At that time, you hadn't joined Dinghua.

If there was really a spy keeping a close watch, Xu He would have been notified.

She already easily succeeded.

Enough, let's eat. It's getting cold.

Let's eat.
