Honestly,
like my mind is blown.

My fingers are just crossed
she drives straight and isn't broken.

Oh, man!

One of the big concerns with
Bird going to Alaska is all the cats that she has here.

Feel it in the eyes.

That is not going as smooth
as Noah wanted.

Wild stallion!

Everybody's on?

I've never run the Integrity
by myself.

There's quite a bit of reef.

Hold on.

I need to do this for myself,
to finish what I came to do.

The wind is howling!

I've actually thought I heard a couple of things break.

I didn't expect
this bad of a storm.

It's just crazy out
there right now.

It's late fall in
southeast Alaska, and siblings Bear, Bird and Rain,

have returned to their old
family home on Chichigof Island.

But a severe snowstorm
hits overnight.

&We knew that there was a risk
when we came to Alaska around this time,

because this is the time
that the storms start.

I think he just hopes
they wouldn't quite hit when we were here.

Growing up in Alaska,
we've definitely enjoyed our fair share of storms.

But this storm is a little bit
different, because this isn't our home anymore.

We have a home to get back to.

Being wintered in Alaska
is not what we need right now.

Whoa! Look at it!
It's like a minefield out here.

This way.

Well, I'm just walking around
and looking for problem trees essentially.

We've had some fallen trees.
I heard some crashes up there.

Don't want the sisters
walking around and a tree fall.

Or even myself,
I'm running around a little.

Don't really want to get
impaled by a giant branch falling.

So, I'm just keeping my eye
open, making sure our immediate vicinity is safe.

Yeah!

This time of year, our storms
can be pretty bad.

And even though we just got
hit with one, it doesn't mean that we're in the clear.

There could be another storm
just hitting right on top of another one,

because sometimes
that's how it happens.

Storms in Alaska, they get bad
enough you can't get to the island from boat.

You have to wait
until the storm blows over.

I'm a bit concerned that it
could stick us here for longer than we intended.

Come on!

All right,
let's see what I can do.

1,500 miles south,

the Browns' mountain has also
received its first snowfall of the season.

I just got to take it out and then smooth it over.

And while the restoration of the ranch continues...

brother Noah tends to
Northstar's newest addition.

This guy is Prometheus.

He's 16 hands and growing.

He is the second stallion
on the ranch.

Well, I guess the only
stallion on the ranch right now,

because he's the only
horse up here.

When the fire happened, we
were actually on our way to go pick up Prometheus.

He's two years old.

He's estimated
to come out as 18 hands.

He's massive.
He's sleek, he's beautiful.

Back in the day, he would have
been the perfect knights' templar horse.

I'm obsessed
with ancient times.

So, for me, this guy is going
to be my war horse.

I might train him the old
style, horseback archery, jousting, the whole bit.

I wanted to do
a week with him.

So, I've actually moved in,
built a little shelter,

and I'm staying here, camping
in this arena with him for a week.

I think I was seven,
when dad and I discussed

how horses were actually
used in medieval times.

That's why I wanted,
and have been obsessed with, war horses,

and knights' templars,
and all that.

I can definitely see myself
sitting on top of him

with the reins in my teeth,
while firing arrows.

So, this is actually the first
stage, training Prometheus to be tolerant to weapons.

I'm going to start
with the sword.

The key is lettin' him
get used to it slowly.

Completely safe.
Can't hurt you at all.

Next up, for the bow:
set up the target,

getting my arrows, feel how he
reacts to one hitting there.

I'm sure that to
a lot of people, I'm doing everything wrong.

Not even a flinch! Good boy, Prometheus!

I could put the saddle on him
first, that is a very invasive thing.

So instead, start with
the weapons, because it isn't touching him.

Basically, the plan is that
in the week's time,

I'll be able to get enough
bonding time with him,

that would give normal
people years.

And my goal is to ride him.

He's actually only experienced snow since he got here.

So, I'm going to take it
easy with him,

and teach him how to run,
and walk, on snow and ice.

I think the fire affected
everyone differently, but it did affect everyone, even me.

Come on.

Well, I guess in a way,

my week with Prometheus
is like Bear, Bird and Rain's week in Alaska.

I just kind of, to get back
to center, back to good.

My family deserve
the best me possible.

I haven't been
the best thing possible.

You ready?

Nice and slow. There you go!

Alaska's been giving us
the whole she-bam.

So, it's been sunny, it's
been windy, it just snowed.

We don't want to be out here when it picks up a great deal,

and the storm has probably
increased even more than it was.

On Chichigof Island, Bear, Bird and Rain

prepare for another long night
in Browntown.

But there's a new concern.

A report that another
blizzard, bringing damaging winds and heavy snowfall,

is due to strike
in just three days.

Now, one thing I am worried
about is if the storm lasts a little bit too long,

and we get stuck.

We can't afford to get stranded for,

like, a three weeks blown in
by storm in Alaska.

We have too much to do
at the ranch, too much to do back home.

We haven't really been
in Alaska as long as we're wanting to.

A bit concerned we might have
to end the trip early.

One thing with Alaska,
as you all know,

is that if you stay past a
certain point in the winter, you can't really leave.

Oh, dang it!
Wouldn't that suck!

Bear and Rain are thinking
that we might have to cut the trip short.

I really don't want to.

I don't know, I, there are
still answers I'm looking for,

do I want to move back
to Alaska, or do I belong in Washington?

And I was hoping that we'd go
back to Washington with a deer.

The wolf pack could use
some Alaska deer.

I think that would, you know,
boost morale a little bit.

And I was hoping that
getting a deer would, kind of,

show myself
that I still have it.

Even in the,
like, wild of Alaska.

But I didn't get a deer.

You guys ready?

Ready as we'll ever be. I think so.

Early the next
morning, the siblings embark on their return to Washington,

ahead of schedule.

But reaching cell reception,

the Browns realize they have
several missed calls from home.

When I first heard the wolf pack call us,

I immediately think, like,
something went wrong.

First thing comes through
my mind is, I hope dad's okay.

He has his ups and downs,
and has for forever.

I'm pretty worried,
to be honest.

Dad's health doesn't
seem to be going up.

It just seems
to be going down.

And so, I'm definitely
a little concerned.

With him feeling so bad
lately, of course, you always think the worst.

It's as loud as she gets.

- Hello!
- Can you hear us?

Yeah, we can hear you
loud and clear.

How are y'all guys doing?
We're doing good.

Where?

What?

Are you serious?

The Browns' former boat, the Integrity,

was abandoned
and relocated to Hoonah.

The Integrity
is for sale in Hoonah?

Now, the local
harbormaster is hoping to part with the vessel,

and willing to strike
a rock-bottom deal.

The Integrity is in town.

Honestly, like,
my mind is blown!

This is awesome. Reminds me
of the old days, man!

I never thought that I would
see the Integrity again.

Browntown dead ahead!

The Integrity has
so many great memories.

Just going through
the open ocean, fishing, laughing with the family.

This is just too good an opportunity not to check out.

This boat changed
our entire world.

I think it's really
a no-brainer.

I think it's a,
it's a win-win for everyone.

If dad knew about the storms,
I know he would want us to collar early.

But the Integrity, we gave
it away a long time ago,

and for it
to just circle back,

and be where we are even,
I think we have to get it.

Securing the Integrity
might lift our spirits,

knowing that there is a beacon
of hope out there.

storm is only days away from southeast Alaska.

But instead of returning back
home to Washington, the Brown siblings are taking a risk.

- That looks like our boat.

Hoping to examine and secure their old boat

before the incoming snow
traps them in Alaska.

Dad's tasked us with a couple
things before we leave Alaska.

He wants us to check out
the Integrity,

he wants us to make sure
that she's still good and ship-shape,

and then he wants us to find
someone that can watch it

until we can come back
and get it.

But we're just running
out of time.

I mean, this one's encased.

Yeah. Way too wide.
Definitely not.

It's either her or her sister.

Guys, the bow still

kind of alternate reality,

seeing the Integrity the way
that it looks now.

It looks so vastly different
when we last saw it.

Red is my particular favorite color

and even I wouldn't have
painted the Integrity like she's painted now.

But all in all it's still good
to see the Integrity, even if she has a bad paint job.

Permission to come aboard,
Integrity?

Despite the differences
of the Integrity, it still feels like it's ours.

Very different!

Oh, my gosh!

It feels like stepping onto
it, it's like coming home.

- Breakfast is almost ready.
- Smells good.

It does bring back a lot of
memories, and it makes me miss mom and dad a lot.

'Cause never really been on
it without mom and dad.

- Man, I miss it!

It's a little toasty.

Well, the engine room's
not too different.

Buying the Integrity
is a slight bit of a risk.

We haven't even seen
the Integrity for some time.

I must admit, I'm a little
concerned it might take a lot of work.

Well, I'm not a mechanic,
but theoretically speaking, it all looks in place.

Plumbing pipes,
the hydraulic hoses.

Needs to be bailed.

Got a little water down there.

There's actually a pretty
good leak she has.

She's got a couple rotten
boards on the outside and has a bit of a leak down below.

But it shouldn't be too much
of a problem right now.

We can fix it in the future.

We just need to really
keep an eye on it.

All in all, most of the things
that we've seen that are wrong with it,

is just purely cosmetic.

Now, I agree 100%.

So, do y'all think we get her?

to pick this boat up.

One of the big concerns with
Bird going to Alaska is all the cats that she has here.

She's entrusted that to me,
but there are a lot.

Way to spill it, huh?
You're on cleanup.

The cats in here are really special.

They're Bird's pride and joy,
you know.

They're practically
her babies.

So, I'm just a little nervous,
you know, a little concerned with just taking care of 'em.

I don't want something to
happen while she's gone.

She comes back and I'm like,
"Oh, we lost six!"

Oh, now the dirty part.

Have to use my weapon.

I'm going to go with this one.

Oh, my goodness!

I don't know which is worse,
the smell of the poop,

or the smell or whatever
she has covering up the smell of the poop.

You feel it in the eyes!

Just a minute.
The bathroom's being cleaned.

Oh, that's just what I needed
now, there's a line.

Bird definitely owes me
one for this.

This is the least glamorous
part about cat-sitting, is scooping the litter box.

In this case, the litter box
for as many cats as there are, is just the shower.

It's the shower full of,
you know what it's full of.

All fed, all watered,
and clean bathrooms.

Back in Alaska,

brother Bear is on a mission
to find an old friend of the family,

who can care for the Integrity
throughout the winter season.

We've got the storm blowing on us really, really soon.

So, it's important that
we take her, the boat,

as quickly as we possibly can.

Especially the Integrity
having a little bit more of a leak,

if you don't bail the boat out
regularly

and make sure that she's
bailing, then she'll be sunk.

- How's it going, man?
- That's a good handshake, man.

I'm actually quite
confident Addy will help us out with the barter,

because that is the code
of the bush,

a perfect stranger could show
up on your door in Alaska, ask for help,

and if you can help,
you'll help 'em. That's just the way it is.

I was actually looking for you.

My family and I, we have
a boat, but we probably won't be back up for a little while.

So, I was wondering if you
would be willing to watch her.

Now, not for free.

I do have a bunch
of red cedar boards.

Bam picked up this red
cedar along the way. It was some job we did.

We were super excited
about it,

but we ended up bartering
quite a bit of it away, for the windmill parts.

It's pure red cedar. You can
smell it from a mile away.

He might come after me,
but he won't come after you.

Okay.

Everybody loves red cedar.

The girls and I actually came
across it on the beach in Browntown,

and right now, it's really
all we have to barter.

I think we can work something out.

Today is going to be
the first day that Prometheus has ever had a saddle on him.

So, I'm going to put it
on him,

I'm going to walk him
around in a couple circles, take it off, brush him out.

Depending on the horse,
saddle training can be difficult. Think of it.

A horse in a natural setting,
the only time something is on its back

is when it is a wolf
or a mountain lion, jumping on its back to try to eat it.

So, one of those things you
need to steadily work into.

But, I'm definitely confident
that I'll be able to get on his back in my week.

Every day is a struggle
with a beast like Prometheus.

One of the big things
that I want to get across to that horse

is utter confidence
around him.

Go for a walk.

Watch where you're stepping!
Don't sniff me.

If he starts to buck
with saddle on, that's bad.

So, the idea is
to stop him verbally.

So that if he tries to do it
while I'm on him, he will stop verbally.

It doesn't matter if training gets difficult.

We all have bad days.
Horses are no different.

Quit chewing on things.

That doesn't mean I'm going to give up.

I haven't given up
when the mountain burned.

I'm not going to give up if a
horse gets a little stubborn.

just get this thing untied and get going.

After securing a
barter, the siblings take the Integrity back to Browntown,

to retrieve their boards
of red cedar.

Well, as new as piloting the Integrity by ourselves is,

this is what mom and dad
have always trained us for.

You know, when dad would take
me up into the wheelhouse

and show me how to run
the boat, this is what was in his plans.

Let's have fun and make
mom and dad proud.

- Sounds like a plan, guys.

I'm a little bit nervous
to see how the Integrity will fare.

I've never run the Integrity
by myself before.

So, I'm a little bit nervous
that I might mess something up.

The Browns are racing to secure the Integrity

before an incoming blizzard
threatens to lock them in Alaska.

Remember there's some
really bad spots out here on the side.

And on their 60-foot wood hole sub-chaser,

sister Rain leads their way
back to Browntown, to gather their load of wood.

We're coming up on a little bit of a dangerous part.

So, we're going to have
to just go very slow.

Make sure to keep
your eyes out.

It's always a concern passing
through a certain area,

it's like a midway reef
and even experienced pilots, like my dad,

keep their eyes really peeled
when going through this area.

While rough waters
are typically one of the biggest concerns

traversing the Alaskan seas,

the shallow midway reef
is known for its unpredictably jagged terrain,

that could easily sink
the most sturdy of ships.

You want to go a little more starboard.

We're getting pretty close
to that one up there.

Just keep it down the middle, down the middle.

Well, my thing is not working.

The Integrity's navigation
devices seem to be a little bit broken.

You can't really captain
a boat without knowing what's underneath you.

The starboard side,
there's quite a bit of reef,

especially if we get closer
to this thing here.

Yeah, I'm turning. I see it.

Hold on, I'm going
to speed up a little.

Okay, go ahead.

We're on the straight and narrow now.

Good job!
Keep her steady. You got it!

Yeah, she actually looks good.

Everything looks good

It looks like
we made it through.

Every time I think to do
something, I don't hear it in my voice; I hear it in dad's.

I'm very proud of myself
for making it through the midway reef.

Under that and round the corner is Pelican.

I didn't let dad down,

and hopefully he'll be proud
of me too, once he hears about it.

Being back in Alaska
has taught me a lot.

I do definitely feel like
I have a new-found sense of freedom,

and hopefully I can contribute
that back home.

Training is going really well.

But now it's getting cold,
so I need to get his blanket back on,

before the temperature
drops too bad.

Back on Northstar Ranch,

Noah hunkers down to endure
his second freezing night with Prometheus.

On tonight's menu, some canned
meat with some seasoned tomatoes.

It might be a little bit
difficult to be away from my family,

but this week is good for
Prometheus and for myself.

Working with Prometheus
is very different from working with robots

and making zapper hats
and arm saws.

Prometheus
is a living creature.

In essence, I could learn a
lot from my time with him, about how to treat people.

If I treated people more
like horses, maybe they'd like me better.

If I'm to finish out this week
and achieve my goals,

at least a piece of that will
transition to the rest of my life.

Kind of took a horse to show
me how I should be as a human.

While that warms up and
simmers, I think I'll finish taking care of the horse.

To the beach!

As the storm grows closer,

the siblings return to
Browntown to retrieve their supply of red cedar.

Let's get a look and see how
much lumber we have over here.

But before they
turn in for one more night inside their old home,

they'll use the last hours
of daylight to haul the wood 50 yards up the shore

and accelerate transport
the following day.

Okay, are we ready

It's better just
take more trips.

is a difficult task,

mainly because it's been
weathered in so much.

Right now,
there's three of us,

and the red cedar has a little
bit of water logged to it.

If we have to stay here

I feel like it would be

as a sled, and I actually did bring a tarp.

Because you should never go
anywhere without a tarp.

Well, yeah! I like that.

Okay, if you have a tarp,
right, I totally agree. Pull it out.

Well, Bird had an idea to use
the tarp since we have the snow anyway.

I'm confident that it could
work as long as the tarp itself isn't too rotten,

and we don't overload it.

We have quite
a few trips to make.

It's just so much better than
the first time we held those boards down.

It's the last day
in Alaska, and with her future weighing heavy on her mind,

sister Bird rises early,
hoping to complete one final goal.

Bear said we do have to get the red cedar to Addy,

but this is my last chance
to get a deer.

You know, I want to bring
some back to everybody else.

I have to finish
what I came to do.

All the snow
your track,

and all the deer wanting to
come down off the mountains.

I just found some
fairly fresh tracks,

and it looks like they're
headed in that direction.

I'm very determined to get the deer, and to finish this hunt,

and help me with all the
questions I have for myself.

If I get a deer,
it proves that, like, I can still live out here

and I can, you know,
still fight for myself.

As the Browns' time in Alaska draws to an end,

Bird has one
last shot to bag a deer.

Got him.

I got one.

There, a few minutes, the
wind, actually, was pulling my gun in the other direction,

but looks like I got him.

There he is!

That shot is going to make
other things want to come,

so I'm going to have to get
over there and get him clean.

Getting this deer, it's a huge
weight off my shoulders.

There's almost not
a greater feeling.

It's just there's so much
adrenaline,

there's like, everything else
in the world disappears.

I can still come to Alaska,
hunt and get a deer,

I could still survive in
Alaska.

Looks like he's not movin'.

Looks clean.

When I first get the deer,

like, the first thing that
comes to mind is bringing it back to everybody,

that look on mom's and dad's
face when I come into camp, and I have the deer.

- Hungry?
- Hey, guys!

- Awesome!

Hey, good one!

It brings back so many memories, of so many times

that, like, we've come in
and we're eating deer around the fire,

while mom's cleaning
some more.

I will never not love Alaska,
but the wolf pack is home.

This trip has definitely
helped me realize that

that it doesn't matter
how much I love Alaska.

I love my family more,
and I want to be with everybody,

and I want to be able to
provide them with deer, even if it's not in Alaska.

He's actually never
been ridden.

You know, when it comes to
horses, I'm the guy to call,

you know, Northstar Ranch's
expert horse whisperer.

But Diego is a very different
story than Prometheus.

Noah definitely has his
work cut out for him.

I would say let him walk
around a little and then put him up.

I got him.

Just trying to get him
used to the pressure.

Don't try to push him
too far in one day.

He's not seeming to like
a lot of things you're doing.

I've got this!

I noticed it's not going as
smooth as I think Noah wanted.

He didn't just hop on there
and they're riding around,

like the cover of some kind
of romantic comedy, you know.

You sure you want
to try to ride him?

Prometheus doesn't want to be written today.

And he just does not want me
to get on his back.

But I'm not going to give up.

How can I teach him
about trusting me,

if I do not trust him
to tell me when he's ready to be ridden?

I just need to treat people
more like horses.

So, can I get a sugar cube?

It's okay, Bird.
You're not going to cry, Bird.

You got this.

After loading the
Integrity with the red cedar and Bird's deer kill,

the Brown siblings
will once again bid farewell to their cherished home.

- You comin'?
- Yep.

- And it's closed.
- Yep.

This time, leaving Browntown
is different, because we're leaving on our terms.

And we have the bush
to go home to.

- You guys ready?
- Ready as we'll ever be.

The experience, going back to Alaska,

I've learned to just, like,
slow down a little, relax,

trust God
to take care of things,

and put a little piece
of my heart back in place.

It's been nice to be back.

Even just being in the house
and being in the forest again,

and just everything
that's so different here.

It's just been a nice break
from Washington, even for a short time.

No, I agree completely.

I wouldn't say that it's
goodbye; it's more see you later.

You never know
when we might come back.

I mean it could be, you know,
weeks from now, it could be years even.

But I have a feeling
we will return.

We'll be back.

You know, this isn't the end
of something; it's the beginning.

No, it's true.

This trip has actually been very emotional for all of us,

but especially for,
like, Bird particularly.

She set her mind or something
and she made it happen, and that's just the way to do.

She never gives up,
she never surrenders.

And she's always
a good home to us.

We'll be back. We will.

This trip is definitely
what I needed.

You know, I've wanted to come
back since we left,

but, I know I have to go back
to Washington.

Hopefully, we get some crab.

Ten bucks says I get the most.

Competitions between brothers
and sisters is always good fun.

I personally think I'm going
to be bringing home the most crab.

- Oh, wait.

We're all very competitive,
but it's also just nice to be on the water,

just pulling crab pots
with Bear and Rain.

I love winning.

I really do, but I'm still
rooting for Bird to catch a lot of crab,

'cause I'd rather be a loser
with a lot of crab, than a winner with only a few.

Well, I think this totally
has worked out, all in all, entirely.

We get someone watching
the Integrity,

and the red cedar is going
to someone that actually needs it.

I'm extremely glad
that we have the Integrity in good hands.

The parents are going
to be so excited

when we come back up for it,
or maybe get it brought down or something.

No telling. Right now,
the world is our oyster

and I'm feeling pretty
awesome, I must admit!

It was my goal this entire time.

So, I'm going to saddle up
Prometheus, and I'm going to try to ride him.

Yesterday,
he was ornery as heck.

He was not happy.
But today, he's different.

All I'm shooting for
is tied.

That way, he can't buck
and freak out too much.

So, let's do.

This is my last day. This is it.

If he doesn't want
to be saddled, he doesn't have to be.

It's up to him.

If he's ready,
then he'll tell me.

I did it.

I'm super excited!

I'm the first person that has ever sat on top of that horse.

That was my main goal this
week, and I achieved it.

That feeling,
being able to sit there,

just relax in the saddle,
that feeling is just superb.

This is not just a horse;
it's a war horse.

From the water they came,
and from the water they're goin' back.

After ensuring a watchful eye over the Integrity,

the Brown siblings
share one last meal,

before heading back to
Washington ahead of the storm.

So far, so good.
I think mom and dad would be proud.

Yeah. I don't know if "proud"
would be a word I'd use.

They'd be something.

We head out of Alaska tonight,
and it does look like we're going to beat the storm.

Looks like by barely,
barely at all.

It definitely feels really good to be cooking the deer

that I did, eventually,
end up getting.

It just feels great, and
I'm definitely going to bring some home for everybody else.

How long, guys, has it been
since we have had crab and deer bits?

It has been ages.

Well, this used to be
our every day.

We caught it, we cleaned it,
we cooked it.

It's funny, 'cause for a long
time, like, pretty much since we left Alaska,

like, it's felt like our life
in Alaska and, like, all of this was a dream.

Like a distant dream
a long time ago.

Now, it feels
like I'm in that dream.

Even though
I am closing the door

on moving back to Alaska
for good right now,

in the near future, that door
is not necessarily locked.

It's the hope of being able to come back.

Because, I think why being out
of Alaska was so hard before,

is that we never thought
we would be here again.

And now that
we have the Integrity,

and now that the window
is open for us to come and go as we please,

we don't have to be
sad about it.

Owning the Integrity again

really feels like the
beginning of a new chapter for the family.

Can't wait until we have
many more adventures on the Integrity.

There's no telling what kind
of adventures will be had.

We can bring all that
the new generation, the young wolf pack.

Mom and dad.

Sci-Fi.

Yeah, your kitties, and we can sail the ocean once again.

You know, the dream,
it's not just my mom and I; the guys have the same dream.

it's everybody's dream now.

You know, we've lost so much.

We lost everything
in the fire.

It's been a little
devastating.

Just ready to keep going now.

There's just so
much more to do.

The faith in God,
the faith in family.

I'm not going to quit now.
It's right there.

All we've got to do
is just keep pushing.

I've enjoyed this trip
probably more than anyone possibly could.

But I'm definitely ready
to see the family, and we've joined the wolf pack.
