I can't say it was like all said, but I remember like

when iwas taking classes, right?

And you're trying to like be this actor that you think you can be.

And like there's rare moments, man, where like I feel everybody's energy.

I always feel like people around me.

But the moments on set where it was like

you're doing the scene and you finish and you're like,

"Oh, shit. Oh, I'm here."

It's like, I don't know if you're related to like an athlete who's in the zone

or you know when someone is like on a really good history

and you don't really know what's going on.

But if you know something special,

like that's what I always strive for.

So even when I'm struggling or when I'm down, going for that thing

is like the gas, like for a patient.

You remember what said one?

It was just in class.

It was just in class.

I'm really feeling all set.

But like in a class, it's like, ah, it's like this drug

that you just want to keep trying to like get.

You want to get that next fix. So yeah.

Here's what's funny.

The third, when I first walked into the wardrobe fitting

for like, for real, it was like track suits and sweatsuits.

And I told the creator, like, I don't really see

like real this way.

So I went in, like bought a bunch of stuff.

You bought it.

I bought it.

And then I even got the tattoo.

I was like, I feel like he should have like a tattoo.

And I sent it to her.

Luckily, she was with it.

So everything that he had was kind of like something

that I had that I bought myself.

And then the wardrobe person eventually like bought amazing things.

And like, it became a great character.

But like, most of it was mine.

But like, if I could say one thing,

it'd be like a blue button up, like button up to the top

like this, like a jean jacket.

Because that's like my everyday.

You know what I'm talking about?

Why do people like the wardrobe?

Yeah.

You know what's funny, bro?

I met some dude in the mall once that had the same tattoo

that I had.

And he was like, yo, I got this tattoo because it's such

and such.

And I was like, shit.

It's one of those moments where you're like, damn,

and you forget that.

Like, we're doing a job, right?

Yeah.

But you forget that like this ripples across.

Like, this is what people do when they get off of work

to enjoy.

And like, again, that's something that makes me the happiest about work.

Because like, I started acting because of people

that were doing TV.

And they didn't know that they were affecting me

that same way.

So I want to always like

give people that same thing.

That's a good question because, look, I don't--

there's only like a handful of actors who can really like

transform and like do accents

and like their whole body

and they walk differently.

So I strive to be that, of course.

But to be honest,

there's only like little things that have happened.

I remember one time like I was laughing as a character.

And all of a sudden my laugh changed in my real life.

And I was like, why am I laughing this way?

Or even like a walk, like I-- Rio walked a certain way.

And I always had my hands behind my back with the intention

to show that I'm not a threat.

Because everything else about him was a threat.

So I always did this.

But now when I'm with my son and my wife,

I'm always like this.

And I'm like, damn it.

OK, let that go.

But it's the thing that gets into you, one,

because you created it.

And then two, you do it so often that it becomes a part of you.

And like even like, oh, I'm dressed.

I'm like, damn, am I like I dress like Rio now.

It's the weirdest shit.

Really?

Oh, wow.

Oh man, like my wife is like the best cook,

so she would like make me some enchiladas sometimes,

like Mexican rice.

She know, I never eat on set, I don't like catered food,

sorry if that sounds bad.

But I would always bring my own food,

so I always had it like great.

And it would be something to like after a long day,

you look forward to just like,

because I don't know this any other food.

Yeah, no this to any other like food,

but like Mexican food is the best.

We agree.

Yeah, okay good.

And like I can't find like, sorry,

does New York have good Mexican food?

Cause I've been like searching and the hunting down for it.

i gotta take you to someplace.

When this is up,

who haven't gotten to where you wanna get to

and they're like, oh,

you know, just wait,

And I'm like, I don't know, wait,

I wanna go and get it.

So everybody would be like, oh, you know,

wait 10 years and then your career's gonna kick off

and I'd be like, no, I wanna get it right now,

I'm good enough to do it now.

So I didn't wait, man, I remember writing letters to people

like old school, like handwritten letters,

not knowing if it would ever reach them,

I would send it to their agency or wherever.

I would reach out to everybody on Instagram,

I'd try to find anybody I can who I'm a fan of,

not to network, but to be like,

y'all love your work, I'd love to work with you.

And who knows what can come from it.

That's a good question.

Nah, honestly, dude, I don't know what it is,

and you could ask a lot of athletes.

We listen to R&B because you wanna be as calm as possible

before you go into something serious

because you know what it's gonna be.

So to me, it would be

like 90s R&B, like Jodeci,

or like Tony, Tony, Tony,

like anything that really calmed me down.

Well, that's mad, but what about Rio?

No, Rio.

Yeah, because Rio had to do everything

that was so serious, right?

So I always wanted to make sure,

I was always listening to stuff that would calm me down

so I could maintain this calmness.

Because in my real life, I'm like,

I wanna smile and I wanna laugh and joke,

so I always needed

something to just like.

Oh, yeah. Yeah.

I mean, especially with Rio, like the mama,

like the "Hey, mama."

That's all me.

Yeah, like, that's kind of how I talk anyway.

So like, once I started doing that,

they wanted to do it.

They started writing the "More in the Strip,"

which was fine with me.

So like that thing--

Everybody was like, so I open the door.

There's this one line

where it's like, hey, mama.

And I'm like, it made such an impact on social media

where I'm like, this?

Like of all the things, this is what you like?

And that was improv.

Yeah, and I keep going with it.

But it's just like little things like that.

Like the scripts are always well-written.

I just kind of like to add my spins.

What's the craziest thing that I've done to prepare?

I had an audition and the character was blind.

So I went to a mall and I had my friendcome with me

and I blindfolded myself and I was like stay near me

but don't help me

and I tried to walk through this mall

blindfolded, blindfolded.

And I did it for like 30 minutes or so

and I had no idea and it was the scariest thing.

And then I took it off and my friend was just laughing his ass off.

He was like, "Bro, you just walked in a circle for like 20 minutes."

He's like, "You just literally walked

from like there to there.

You thought you were so scared and going everywhere."

And here I am thinking I was like doing some Daniel Day Lewis shit.

I was like, "Oh, there's nothing. I walked in a circle in a mall."

Yeah, so that's it.
