NARRATOR: Around and along, in the middle of somewhere,

lives a little sound collector.

And his best friend, Mole.

With his hearing aids in,

the Sound Collector starts to hear the world around him.

WAVE OF SOUND SWELLS

MOLE GRUNTS

HE GASPS

Morning!

I think Mole wants him to follow.

SHE SNIFFS

So that's what Mole is excited about!

They're going to do some baking.

SHE SNIFFS

Apple pie. Mole loves apple pie.

They're going to need some apples first.

An apple hunt is the perfect excuse to find some sounds.

MOLE SNUFFLES

By the way Mole is snuffling, the sooner, the better.

WAVE OF SOUND SWELLS

BIRDSONG

WHEEL CLANKING, WATER SPLASHING

ENGINE PUTTERS

Ah, right on time!

A lift to the orchard.

PLAYFUL MUSIC

Apples in the orchard, ready to pick.

WIND RUSTLES THE LEAVES

BIRD CRIES

Look at them all!

MACHINERY CHUGGING What's that noise?

A combine harvester. Gathering a crop.

As noises go, it's a keeper.

GRASS RUSTLES UNDERFOOT

CRUNCHING AND SKITTERING

HE CHUCKLES

NARRATOR CHUCKLES A combine harvest beetle.

MOLE SNIFFS Temptation.

All too much for a little mole.

CLATTERING

SHE SNEEZES, NARRATOR LAUGHS

Well, what did she expect?

Some moles will never learn.

MUNCHING

WINGS FLUTTER

TAPE CLICKS, JOYFUL MUSIC PLAYS

THUDDING

Hm, that's odd.

Whoa! MORE THUDS

Wah!

Whoa!

Wah!

It's raining apples!

THUDDING

Phew!

I'll bet they taste as good as they sound.

The perfect apple to pop in a pie.

ENGINE PUTTERS

Ah, and here's the lift back home.

Just in time.

One apple, ready for baking. HE GASPS

GENTLE SNORING Oh, dear!

Someone couldn't wait for her breakfast.

SNORING CONTINUES

That's right. Sleeping it off.

HE SIGHS, CHUCKLES

RECORDED APPLE THUDS AND MUSIC PLAY

MOLE SNUFFLES AND SNIFFS

Oh, pardon you! HE CHUCKLES

Glad you could join us, Mole.

It's hard to be annoyed with a cuddly, flour-fluffed mole.

All tidy now.

MUNCHING

Well, it's apple without the pie for breakfast.

HE CHUCKLES

CRUNCHING

Mm, it does taste as good as it sounds.
