Ah, yes. And his best friend, Mole. MOLE GRUNTS

Putting in his hearing aids,

the Sound Collector starts to hear the world around him.

WAVE OF SOUND SWELLS

MOLE SNORING Where is she?

MOLE SNORING AND SNUFFLING Aww.

MOLE MUTTERS

Hm. MOLE CONTINUES TO SNORE

A telescope.

RUSTLING

What is he making?

He's attached his microphone to it.

Something for watching AND listening, perhaps.

Let's find out.

DOOR CREAKS

WIND WHISTLING, WATER BUBBLING

WAVE OF SOUND SWELLS

Now he can hear AND see things that are near.

And far away.

HELICOPTER BLADES WHIRRING

SWITCH CLICKS Oh, that's clever.

SNORTLE What on earth is that?

SNORING

Aww. It's just Mole having a nap.

HE CHUCKLES

I suppose he'll have to collect sounds on his own today.

BRIGHT MUSIC

GULLS CRYING

Ah, there he is!

The perfect spot for a bird's eye view.

Ah!

WATER BABBLING

BIRDS SHRIEKING

Ha!

HORN BELLOWS Hang on...

That didn't sound like a bird. ENGINE ROARS

BOAT RIGGING JANGLES AND CLANKS

A sailing boat? Maybe that's what made the sound.

HORN BELLOWS

No, it's coming from something else.

A-ha! A fishing boat.

It's not that either.

HORN BELLOWS

There it is. What a brilliant sound! HORN BLARES

Great! SOUND COLLECTOR CHUCKLES

Good thing he managed to record it before his tape ran out.

PLAYFUL MUSIC

WIND WHISTLING, WATER RUSHING IN DISTANCE

HE SIGHS HAPPILY Yes. Time for a rest.

And a spot of cloud watching.

So huge and so quiet.

No cloud noises to record.

Ah, yes. Clouds sailing across the sky.

DISTANT DOGS BARKING Hm.

But it's not the same without Mole.

That's better. MOLE SNORING SOFTLY

Much better.

WAVES SPLASHING ON TAPE

Can you hear, Mole? HORN BELLOWING ON TAPE

The clouds, sailing away.

TAPE WHIRRS

SOFT WATER LAPPING

Yes. Like rolling waves. Perfect.

SNORING ON TAPE What? A snoring cloud?

SNORING AND MURMURING ON TAPE

THEY CHUCKLE Oh, Mole!

It's you! HE LAUGHS

CONTENTED GRUNT

Now where were we?

Ah, yes. SOFT GRUNTING

GENTLE SNORING

Ah, it's not the tape.

Looks like the Sound Collector will be watching clouds for a bit longer.

At least until lunchtime.
