NARRATOR: Around and along, in the middle of... somewhere,
lives a little Sound Collector.
Ah, yes, and his best friend, Mole.
With his hearing aids in,
the Sound Collector starts to hear the world around him.
WAVE OF SOUND SWELLS
BELL JINGLES
Oh, a little bell.
MOLE GRUNTS, NARRATOR LAUGHS
JINGLING CONTINUES Morning, Mole.
She probably thinks it's a dinner bell.
MOLE COOS
Oh, look, the bell is for Mole. How lovely!
Now he'll always hear her when she's near.
MOLE COOS
Bye, Mole. Back soon.
DOOR CLOSES
JINGLING CONTINUES, GRUNTS
SWITCH CLICKS
VOLUME INTENSIFIES, BIRDS CHIRP
Ah. Listen to that.
CHIRPING CONTINUES, WATER LAPS
WATERWHEEL CLANKS
CHILD LAUGHS, SOUND COLLECTOR GASPS
BELL DINGS CHILD: Whoo-hoo!
Oh, a little girl.
TYRES SQUEAL, NARRATOR LAUGHS
She can make a lot of noise. CAR ENGINE RUMBLES
HORN HONKS
Maybe he'll record something extra special today.
BELLS CHIME
Can you hear them? CHIMING CONTINUES
The sound of far-away bells.
SIGHS
Ah, just what he needs.
A lift.
BELLS CHIMING GROWS LOUDER
They're getting nearer now.
It's like they're calling to him.
CHURCH BELLS CHIME
Ah, there they are!
GRUNTS, BELL JINGLING
From big bells to a smaller one.
I don't think Mole's very keen. GRUNTING CONTINUES
Oh, dear.
NARRATOR LAUGHS
CHURCH BELLS CHIME
Wow! So powerful.
GROANS
And so loud!
CHIMING ENDS
Ah, that's better. But what a sound to treasure.
ORGAN PLAYING SOUND COLLECTOR: Huh?
Can you hear?
Yes, it's coming from down there.
RESONANT ORGAN MUSIC CONTINUES
Wow. A church organ.
It sounds magnificent!
He's going for a closer look.
Don't let him see you.
ORGAN VIBRATES He can feel the notes, too.
Now, this sound was more than worth the trip.
MOLE GRUNTS, BELL JINGLES
Hmm. Maybe enough bells for one day.
MOLE COOS
STRINGS TWANG PLEASANTLY
Ah. That's better.
TUNE ENDS
