- Why are endings so hard?
Is it the pressure to find the perfect way
to commemorate the journey?
Is it because it's hard to find the right words to express
all of the emotions that have built up over time?
This is probably why I just let my songs fade out,
so that technically, they never have to end.
- Mm, busting out the gel pens?
You must be working on something important.
- Yup, summer bucket list for Amy and I.
We are going to squeeze every single last drop of joy
out of summer before she leaves for Columbia.
- Camp out at the creek.
Make scrap books for every year of our friendship.
Craft recipe for the perfect breakfast sandwich? Mm.
- I already did that, it's called the bacon belly buster.
(door opening) - That sounds delicious.
- Sounds like a heart attack. - Hey, the wildflower honey
is finally jar'd up.
Wanted to give you a sneak preview.
- And great news everyone.
I mean, it only took me a million years,
but I finally found our tree.
- Ooh. - What's this about a tree?
- Mom and Dad plant a tree for their kids when they're born.
That patch of holly out back, that was for me.
- And I got that nice purple heather.
- And what about Robbie?
- Mine's the big oak by the pond.
- I guess there's no plant named Robbie.
(chuckling)
- So, what tree did you buy?
I mean, could it be maple?
Or juniper?
- Nice try, honey, but no one
finds out the name of the baby until she's born.
The nursery is two hours away, so if I leave now I think
I can make it back by dinner.
- Uh, whoa, whoa, whoa. I'll go,
despite the fact that you should not be doing any heavy lifting
and you just got off bed rest,
it is also my job to get the baby's tree.
- Something has to be. Have you done anything
to get ready for this baby?
- Holly, can you look after the Calico today?
- Yeah, yeah of course. Ooh, I'll even see if Amy
can join and we can work on our sandwich.
- But what about the Collinsville Children's club,
don't you work today?
- Oh, uh...
That actually, that doesn't start until next week.
- Oh. Great. - Great, hm.
(breathes deeply)
- We've had so many amazing times here.
- And we'll make a bunch more.
I've been working on a summer bucket list.
I know, I know, it looks like a lot, but I know that
if we focus, we can totally get it done.
- I got a summer job.
At Columbia.
I contacted this professor doing research on plant based power.
And he said he liked my moxie, whatever that means.
I'll probably just be washing test tubes.
- Okay, okay. So then we'll just have to squeeze it in
and get it all done before you leave. Which is when?
- Monday.
- But it's already Saturday.
- Look, I need to finish packing, but...
I'll come over as soon as I'm done.
Then we'll get to bucket listing. Okay?
Promise.
(door opening)
Hey. - Hey.
What's wrong?
- I'm a terrible friend.
Amy just got this huge job in New York and I should be
thrilled for her, but I'm not. I'm--
- Jealous?
- It just feels like everyone is on track to get
their happy ending except me.
- How many breakfast specials do you usually sell in a day?
- Maybe 20? - Okay.
I'll take it all.
Come on, let's get out of here.
- I'd have to be home before the dinner rush, but...
(chuckles) Tyler, where would we even go?
- It's not up for us to decide, it's up to the universe.

I know a great little spot not too far off the highway--
- No, no, no. We have to pick up the tree.
- We will. But look at yourself,
you're run ragged, going from farm to restaurant.
- It's my dream job, Dad.
And we're just starting to turn a profit.

- Bad plan? - Yeah, kind of.
Especially since there's no waterfall in Collinsville.

- Skunk?
- Dump.
I guess that that's the message the universe has for me.
My life is garbage.
- Or... the universe is telling you that we should stop
playing this stupid game and go get some ice cream.
- I should probably go back. - Wait.
Remember what your grandma said?

in the middle of the afternoon?
Because do you know that you'll get fired
from your new job if you pull something like this.
- They can't.
- What?
- Because they decided to go in a different direction.
- But you, I mean, you turned down your offer
at the University of Wisconsin. - Yes, I know, I know.
- Holly, we agreed that you need to make a solid plan.
- Why are you putting all this pressure on me?
- Because, honey, I don't want you to make a mistake
that you can't take back.

- You became a lawyer so that you could affect change
but then you just worked at the pickle factory
so that you could be close to Dad.
And then, you quit your job in Madison
