or you might have to become a farmer.

When you are farming,

you commit sins
by killing so many insects.

If you do business,
you have to cheat people.

All of that will culminate
in negative karma.

This is the monastery.

This is a very old monastery.

It is very sacred.

This is the courtyard

where they will teach you the mask dances.

It's so big and warm.

If you learn English,
you can talk to the tourists

many obstacles will come.

If you don't have faith,

But if you don't become a monk,

our relatives, or the government,

If you are not capable
to take over the monastery,

we might lose our family heritage.

If you become a capable Lama,

no one will take away
our monastery from us.

The monastery is our soul.

It is everything.

Again, you might think
that I'm forcing you.

I'll prepare everything for you
so that you can be

the next guardian of the monastery.

If you go, I'll be left all alone.

If you don't take celibacy vow,

you don't have to avoid your girlfriend,
you can even get married in the future.

If you don't have the desire
to become a monk, please don't go.

Just look for a girlfriend and enjoy.

At your age, you should work hard.

Nothing is easy now. Everything is work.

Unlike the olden days,

we have to buy everything now.

Now, you have to do everything
by yourself.

If you don't work hard, it is difficult.

If you are silent and never speak,
it's a problem for everyone.

Because of that, it'll be difficult
for you to fulfil your desires.

That way, you won't be able

to fill your stomach.

If you are well behaved,
good fortune is going to come to you.

Religious education is above everything.

Buddhist studies will help you.

For instance,
you'll learn astrology there.

Studying Buddhist astrology
is equivalent to studying engineering.

With Buddhist studies, you can distinguish
between what is truly good and bad.

It's the pathway to Nirvana.

You'll understand
which friend is good for you

and which one is bad.

Always stand for good

and keep away from evil...

Gyembo, your stone
will remain in this hell

if you don't become a monk.
