You have a room That people sleep in?

Oh, yeah, it actually proves To be more productive

If people can take, like, Power naps during the day.

I've been telling you For such a long time that

That is the answer!

That's why I nap At least three times a day.

So, you should be the most Productive person

On the face of the planet. Three naps a day.

Okay, so, you want To put it in the wall?

Like, what exactly Would you want to do?

And then that way The fish tank is the wall.

So, what we're thinking About this nap room

Is actually combining these Two conference rooms into one,

Opening up, like, a window That is the actual fish tank,

So there's a window On both sides

That you can see into That are fish tanks,

Are bunk beds That we put in there

Or are nap pods That we put in there,

Would actually be people Sleeping inside of a fish tank.

So, instead of a fish tank, He wants a people tank.

Sounds that way.

I mean, we can make The actual wall a tank,

And then Make archways.

I was imagining Like an mri machine where --

And so, what if lie down On something,

And then it somehow Pushes you in,

But the mri Or aquarium --

Brett: like a tunnel. A tunnel.

Yeah, a conveyor belt,

You're sliding in With, like, fish over you.

Like a pizza. Like, you know how the pizzas

Go through the oven On a conveyor belt.

Oh, and then The other --

Have you been to, Like, universal studios

Where you go through, Like, a tunnel,

And the tunnel Starts rotating,

And you feel like You're falling?

Oh, you're, like, Going to fall over?

So, what if we had that in The mri, where that's an option,

Where, as you nap, You could have the lighting

Somehow make it feel Like you're just in space

Rotating Or something?

You guys ever heard of anything Like that before?

They got so many ideas, I'm not sure what I'm hearing.

[ imitates explosion ]

What about fish?

I was thinking The giant jellyfish

That can go up and down.

Wayde: that's saltwater. We can do that, too.

Because they're very soothing, Like, the movement of jellyfish,

And they glow, Like, a nice color.

Brett: yeah, they incandesce In their body,

So when the light Actually picks up

Their color From the light --

So, that's Why they glow.

So, you actually see The light

Reflecting through The jellyfish itself.

Jellyfish are Very fragile.

Any micro bubble Or any kind of particle

That actually touches Their body

Will rip a hole in their body And actually kill them.

Oh, so, it's More maintenance

For the jellyfish For sure.

I think the best thing To do first

Is let's figure out A shape and a style.

Brett: looks like it's going to Be something fairly big.

I'm a little confused On the shape still.

They have so many ideas for the Room where employees take naps.

I worked through Some of the ideas,

And I worked with burt To get them down on paper...

Oh, look at that. That one is coming out nice.

...Before we go back And pitch tony and tyler.

The beds are cool.

We're going to try Another option, also,

With the chairs that lay up, You know, and fold down.

Mm-hmm.

Welcome back, guys. I'm excited to see

What's inside of that folder. I'm really excited.

I can't wait to show you What we came up with.

Brett: so, basically, We did these with flatbeds,

And we also made Each of the exterior

Just like The zappos box.

So, basically, boxes, Filtration will be overall.

The tunnels don't go All the way through.

So, the back side Would be one wall,

Whether you wanted it To be this wall

Or you wanted it To be this wall.

This is supposed to be quiet, So we wanted that outer wall

To be the barrier Of the room

So people aren't going to Hear the people napping,

And they're not going To hear the people

Touring around Or working.

We can make this With three pods.

We can make it With four pods.

That's all water. Tony: wow.

We thought of Something else, too.

Like, when you have a bed Like this, there's sheets,

You're going to Have to change it,

Kind of got a little Annoying, I thought,

And then we came up with An even better idea, we think.

This is definitely Top-notch here.

What we wanted to do Is put the recliner chairs in.

They actually Massage you.

They have Speakers on them.

You hook up Your iphone.

Now you're laying down, You can actually see the fish.

You got music going on. You're isolated.

You take Your little nap.

Wow.

I don't think I'd ever leave.

I love that idea.

This definitely has Never been done before.

And I love it so much.

And you'll be seeing The top of the tank.

Brett: we're building An incredible nap-pod tank

For the billion-dollar Online shoe company zappos.

We're breaking down the walls Of two conference rooms

And upgrading the employee Nap room to an underwater oasis.

Zappos employees are working 24 hours a day,

So we'll build a 25-foot-long,

7 1/2-foot-tall Saltwater aquarium.

Under four separate Cut-out arches,

We will place four fully Reclining massage chairs

So tired employees can lean back And be submerged

Under a relaxing Rainbow of fish.

Gentle lighting, custom corals

And the option to play music In their pods

Will refresh anyone Who dives in.

No doubt, this is one Of our coolest tanks ever.

The team formed the arches, Sanded them,

And now They're prepping them

So that they can glue Some of the pieces together.

It's crazy back here Right now.

They're fixing to glue this To that piece there.

All right, Let's see this go on.

Heather: oh, boy.

This is cool As a cucumber.

This process is So difficult.

If any bubbles Are trapped in there,

The stability of the tank Is compromised.

Agnes: it could bust apart Or spring a leak

Once the pressure of thousands Of gallons of water is added.

I'm actually nervous. You've got me nervous.

Why?

Because It seems so intense.

I was sweating.

Chuy has been Doing this so long,

He just Makes it look easy.

Agreed.

While the first round of Gluing sets for a few days,

The team moved forward And started on the coral inserts

And the islands.

And I have to do something

To get my father In the holiday spirit.

Well, you know what? Just haven't been myself lately.

And then you'll be looking At this piece here

When you're laying down? Correct.

What are they going To be seeing?

Well, you'll be In the chair.

So, you could see to your Right, your left,

And through the dome,

You'll see All the fish swimming by.

On the top, of course, There's lighting.

You'll see The water rippling.

Sometimes, it depends On the way you look at it,

You can see Through it,

And whatever is up in the Canopy, the ceiling and stuff.

I don't know if I'm completely Happy with that.

My goal as fungineer with This project is to make people

Have the most amazing Nap room experience ever,

And you'll Be seeing the lights,

And you'll be seeing The top of the tank,

And I don't know how that's Going to look very pretty.

We've done so many aquariums, So over the years,

We know what you're Going to see.

So, we thought ahead, And what we did is

We designed coral That are physically

Going to hang Above your head.

No way. It's pretty insane.

You want to see it? Yeah.

You guys Can pull that off.

Here's the back side Of the tank.

So, this is The back side of it?

That's the whole length Of the back side.

Oh, my god.

This is our Coral insert land.

This is where we design all The custom corals.

This is what I'm talking About right here.

So, that's what you're Going to be seeing

When you're Laying down.

Yeah. So, you Custom-built these

Just specifically For our tank?

So, we have An amazing tank.

It's for zappos, And it is 24 foot long.

That's a massive tank. Massive.

And it has arches in it, Which are amazing.

Literally have recliners Under the arches,

And you lay there And take a nap

As you watch These beautiful fish.

Oh, that sounds very calm. I like that -- relaxing.

Peaceful, Beautiful fish.

Okay. Take a look At the fish.

Yes, let's go.

Look at this. We got The japanese swallowtail angel.

Heather: oh, I love these. I have a pair in my tank.

They actually do good In pairs.

In the wild, they live one male To a lot of females,

So it's like a harem.

Lucky guy.

Very tranquil, Which is perfect.

Reminds me of a little White pillow, though, too.

And the tail is funky. Why Is the tail almost like a "V"?

Oh, you see the tail has That little fork thing going on.

There's a bird called A swallow bird,

And they have forked Tails like that.

So, that's why it's called A swallowtail.

So, they named a fish After a bird?

Yeah.

[ both chuckle ]

Well, that's Pretty unique.

What else do we have?

Let's go take a look At the next fish.

The regal angel. Whoa!

That is so fancy, regal, Majestic, right?

Everything.

You can find them In the philippines, indonesia,

All the way to red sea,

And then even you'll find them Near madagascar in africa.

So, this fish is Everywhere.

It's so intricate. Wow.

If I was laying In a recliner,

And I was looking At this fish,

My eyes would follow it Like a maze,

And it would put me To sleep.

Yeah. And the colors are Sort of like the sunset.

So, fish sleep, right? Yeah, they do.

So, the fish are looking At the people sleeping.

Uh-huh.

You would think it would Put them to sleep, too.

Everyone is going to be Sleeping around there.

Doesn't work like that.

Some of the fishes in the wild, They are nocturnal,

So there's going to be movement In the tank no matter what.

How could you tell When they're sleeping?

Do they, like, close their eyes? Do they lay down?

They have different -- Like, there are some fishes

That actually burrow Themselves in the sand

And sleep like The wrasses do.

There are some fish That just wedges themselves

Inside a crevice in a rock, And they sleep like a trigger.

But do they close their eyes When they sleep?

They don't have eyelids, So there's no need to close.

They don't have eyelids. [ chuckles ]

I love it. I think it's perfect.

I do, too. It's dreamy for sure.

This is The kupang damsel.

The kupang damsel. Those are so cool.

Do they stay in group Like that?

Yeah, they're A schooling fish,

So you'll see them Moving together in groups.

And since you have A very big aquarium,

You can put, like, A lot of them in it, you know,

And they'll all move together In the same direction.

It'll look Really beautiful.

All I'm thinking is Starry, starry night

When I see these, And I love it.

Oh, I like that!

Do these guys stay Towards the bottom,

Towards the middle, Towards the top, or everywhere?

They're one fish That goes everywhere.

They're very curious fish.

They will go All over the place.

I love them. Awesome.

I think zappos is going To be over the moon

For everything That they've got.

I think so, too. Yeah.

So, I think it's time To bag them up

And ship them On back to vegas.

Sounds good.

Brett: and now it's time For a quick fish fact.

Zappos allows a little Sleeping on the job

To help increase productivity And efficiency.

But which of these Marine animals

Can actually rest With one eye open? Is it...

Brett: so, which marine animal Can rest with one eye open?

The answer is "B," dolphins.

Dolphins keep an eye out While sleeping.

They can overcome Sleep deprivation

And remain constantly vigilant For days at a time

By resting one Half of their brain

While the other Remains conscious.

No need for a nap room For these multitaskers.

Today is a big day.

We're flipping the zappos tank So we can place the inserts

And then glue the bottom on.

This tank is over 24 feet long.

It's approximately 3,000 pounds

Without the bottom And coral inserts.

This thing is massive.

It's going to max out At 6,000 pounds empty.

Give a little push with it.

Gets the rocking point Out of the way.

When you're dealing With that much weight

Building this tank, you got To worry about moving it,

Lifting it, and the way You're placing it

Because it can crack, And then that means

You're going to have to start All over again.

The tank's going this way, And then he's backing it up.

Watch yourself, kyle.

Hold the weight As he goes up, all right?

Kyle, get on the back Of the forklift.

Between the two of us, We might equal the weight.

Probably not.

When lifting this tank, You got multiple arches,

So it's very difficult, If you have multiple forklifts,

To line everything up.

It's a lot easier To use one forklift,

Balance it, Go over the overflows

And make sure Everything lines up.

Move these corals As it goes down.

Garet, Move the corals.

I don't want The corals hitting.

When this starts Going down,

You're going to have to move Some of these corals.

Hold on, chuy.

This is going to go Over the arch,

So we'll clear it Once it's down.

You want to stand in here And hold it up?

Right now, I have my guys In the tank,

Holding the coral insert up So when the tank goes down,

The corals can go Over the arches.

There. All right, Go down slow, chuy.

Watch your fingers.

Good job.

As we're lowering it, We got to make sure

All the arches line Up to the bottom,

Because if not, we're not Going to have a strong seal,

And it can blow out the tank.

Good job, guys.

The tank's sick.

Now that it's loaded in place,

The team can finish gluing it And let it dry completely.

The steel stand is almost ready.

Once it's done, we'll place The tank on top

And get it ready For transport.

**

It's install day.

We never really ship the tank On top of the stand.

We always separate it.

But since we have These cut-out arches,

We got a lot of weight Distributing in different areas,

So we're going to keep it On the steel stand.

I don't want anything twisting And turning

And cracking, all right? Yeah.

Let's see How this thing moves.

Start cutting more, kyle.

Bring it wider.

Good.

The tank separated From the steel.

There's a lot of weight Right here,

And it can crack The inside of the tank.

So, what I want to do is, I want To put some straps around this

To hold it together

So, when we lift it And bring it to the job site,

It's closer, stronger, and Tighter and less flexibility.

This is What we're going to do.

We're going to lift it up, Put it on the trailer.

We're going to strap it.

When this goes on there,

We got a lot of trucks And a lot of guys.

I would like me And brett and kyle

To drive down Las vegas boulevard.

It's the shortest route, And it's the slowest.

Red, I want you behind me On the walkies

So you can alert me If there's any issues.

This is going to go smooth,

And we're all going To work together.

There's no more stopping Right now from this point on.

Now we can get water In this thing.

Once that's done, then we can Get sand and water in.

This is definitely One-of-a-kind fish tank.

It's 25 feet long.

It's approximately 5 feet wide, 4 feet tall.

It has Four tunnels in it

With these Electric massage chairs

That you guys go in During nap time, relax,

And swim and sleep With the fishes.

It's 35,000 pounds of water Sitting right here.

You guys said, you know, "We want this thing big."

Over the past five years,

There's been a lot Of activity in downtown.

We were getting more and more Visitors going on tours.

I'm super excited.

They're going to be wowed When they come on the tour.

I think we talked about maybe A tour extension option

Where they can actually Take a nap after the tour.

I like it. The platinum tickets.

The outside of the aquarium Represents your guys' boxes.

So, we had the tank wrapped Just like your boxes.

But most importantly, There's over 200 fish

Inside the aquarium.

Yeah, that's A lot of fish.

Everything is Compatible.

Just like how zappos is here In las vegas community,

We wanted to make sure that all These fish were community

And they all get along With each other.

You have green chromis.

One of the coolest fish Right here,

These guys are Called lookdowns,

And they actually look Like they're looking down.

So, they're going to be Keeping an eye on you

When you're Napping, so --

And they're going to Report back to tony.

So, be careful, okay?

There's some pink anthias. They grow to about 7 inches.

You also have A fowleri tang.

It's one of The prettiest tangs.

It'll eat a lot of algae Inside the aquarium.
