The giant jellyfish

That can go up and down.

Wayde: that's saltwater.

Because they're very soothing,
Like, the movement of jellyfish,

And they glow,
Like, a nice color.

Brett: yeah, they incandesce
In their body,

So when the light
Actually picks up

Their color

Why they glow.

Reflecting through
The jellyfish itself.

Jellyfish are
Very fragile.

Any micro bubble

We're breaking down the walls
Of two conference rooms

And upgrading the employee
Nap room to an underwater oasis.

Zappos employees are working
24 hours a day,

So we'll build a 25-foot-long,

7 1/2-foot-tall
Saltwater aquarium.

Under four separate
Cut-out arches,

We will place four fully
Reclining massage chairs

So tired employees can lean back
And be submerged

Under a relaxing
Rainbow of fish.

Gentle lighting, custom corals

And the option to play music
In their pods

Will refresh anyone
Who dives in.

No doubt, this is one
Of our coolest tanks ever.

The team formed the arches,
Sanded them,

And now
They're prepping them

So that they can glue
Some of the pieces together.

It's crazy back here

They're fixing to glue this

We've done so many aquariums,

So, we thought ahead,
And what we did is

We designed coral
That are physically

Going to hang
Above your head.

It's pretty insane.

The japanese swallowtail angel.

I have a pair in my tank.

They actually do good
In pairs.

In the wild, they live one male
To a lot of females,

So it's like a harem.

Lucky guy.

Very tranquil,
Which is perfect.

Reminds me of a little
White pillow, though, too.

And the tail is funky. Why
Is the tail almost like a "V"?

Oh, you see the tail has
That little fork thing going on.

There's a bird called
A swallow bird,

And they have forked
Tails like that.

So, that's why it's called
A swallowtail.

So, they named a fish
After a bird?

Yeah.

Well, that's
Pretty unique.

What else do we have?

The regal angel.
Whoa!

That is so fancy, regal,
Majestic, right?

You can find them
In the philippines, indonesia,

All the way to red sea,

And then even you'll find them
Near madagascar in africa.

So, this fish is
Everywhere.

It's so intricate.
Wow.

If I was laying
In a recliner,

And I was looking
At this fish,

My eyes would follow it
Like a maze,

And it would put me
To sleep.

Yeah. And the colors are
Sort of like the sunset.

So, fish sleep, right?
Yeah, they do.

So, the fish are looking
At the people sleeping.

Uh-huh.

You would think it would
Put them to sleep, too.

Everyone is going to be
Sleeping around there.

Doesn't work like that.

Some of the fishes in the wild,
They are nocturnal,

So there's going to be movement
In the tank no matter what.

How could you tell
When they're sleeping?

Do they, like, close their eyes?
Do they lay down?

They have different --
Like, there are some fishes

That actually burrow
Themselves in the sand

And sleep like
The wrasses do.

There are some fish
That just wedges themselves

Inside a crevice in a rock,
And they sleep like a trigger.

But do they close their eyes
When they sleep?

They don't have eyelids,
So there's no need to close.

They don't have eyelids.
[ chuckles ]

I love it.
I think it's perfect.

It's dreamy for sure.

This is

So you'll see them

When I see these,
And I love it.

Do these guys stay
Towards the bottom,

Towards the middle,
Towards the top, or everywhere?

They're one fish
That goes everywhere.

They're very curious fish.

They will go
All over the place.

For a quick fish fact.

Zappos allows a little
Sleeping on the job

To help increase productivity
And efficiency.

But which of these
Marine animals

Can actually rest
With one eye open? Is it...

Brett: so, which marine animal
Can rest with one eye open?

The answer is "B," dolphins.

Dolphins keep an eye out
While sleeping.

They can overcome
Sleep deprivation

And remain constantly vigilant
For days at a time

By resting one
Half of their brain

While the other
Remains conscious.

No need for a nap room
For these multitaskers.

Today is a big day.

We're flipping the zappos tank
So we can place the inserts

And then glue the bottom on.

This tank is over 24 feet long.

It's approximately 3,000 pounds

Without the bottom
And coral inserts.

This thing is massive.

It's going to max out
At 6,000 pounds empty.

Give a little push with it.

Gets the rocking point
Out of the way.

When you're dealing
With that much weight

Building this tank, you got
To worry about moving it,

Lifting it, and the way
You're placing it

Because it can crack,
And then that means

You're going to have to start
All over again.

The tank's going this way,
And then he's backing it up.

Watch yourself, kyle.

Hold the weight
As he goes up, all right?

Kyle, get on the back
Of the forklift.

Between the two of us,
We might equal the weight.

Probably not.

When lifting this tank,
You got multiple arches,

So it's very difficult,
If you have multiple forklifts,

To line everything up.

It's a lot easier
To use one forklift,

Balance it,
Go over the overflows

And make sure
Everything lines up.

Move these corals
As it goes down.

Garet,
Move the corals.

I don't want
The corals hitting.

When this starts
Going down,

You're going to have to move
Some of these corals.

This is going to go
Over the arch,

So we'll clear it
Once it's down.

Right now, I have my guys

Holding the coral insert up
So when the tank goes down,

The corals can go
Over the arches.

As we're lowering it,
We got to make sure

All the arches line
Up to the bottom,

Because if not, we're not
Going to have a strong seal,

And it can blow out the tank.

The tank's sick.

Now that it's loaded in place,

The team can finish gluing it
And let it dry completely.

The steel stand is almost ready.

Once it's done, we'll place
The tank on top

And get it ready
For transport.

It's install day.

We never really ship the tank
On top of the stand.

We always separate it.

But since we have
These cut-out arches,

We got a lot of weight
Distributing in different areas,

So we're going to keep it
On the steel stand.

I don't want anything twisting
And turning

And cracking, all right?
Yeah.

Let's see
How this thing moves.

Start cutting more, kyle.

Bring it wider.

The tank separated
From the steel.

There's a lot of weight
Right here,

And it can crack
The inside of the tank.

So, what I want to do is, I want
To put some straps around this

To hold it together

So, when we lift it
And bring it to the job site,

It's closer, stronger, and
Tighter and less flexibility.

What we're going to do.

We're going to lift it up,
Put it on the trailer.

We're going to strap it.

When this goes on there,

We got a lot of trucks
And a lot of guys.

I would like me

To drive down
Las vegas boulevard.

It's the shortest route,
And it's the slowest.

They grow to about 7 inches.
