Right into this project

For the residents.

We're game for that.

Is the aquarium gonna go?

Into the leasing center.

The client wants radius corners
On the tank

To match their iceman product.

But we're not gonna be able
To give them what they want

Based on brett's budget.

What do you mean?

I figured we could router
The corners.

I'll show you in the shop.
We got to go out to the shop.

This here is -- let's say
It's the corner of the tank.

We need a surface area
To bond this,

So we need enough strength
In here.

This is our surface area
Where we bond.

To get a radius out of here,
We can only cut that much off.

That's about 3/4.

This is not gonna give
The radius that they want.

We need to start it
From here to here,

And that radius is gonna lose
That whole bonding area.

There's no way this can be done
To match this picture.

No way.

We're gonna need a mold.

It's gonna have to go
In the oven.

We're gonna have to
Bend this whole front
Piece of the panel

And bond it on the sides.

So, we have to make
Two pieces.

It's a lot more work
And a lot more money.

We have to make
The customer happy.

We're gonna lose money
On this.

A few thousand dollars.

To get the rounded edges
Of the djo iceman,

We'll mold two acrylic panels
And bond them together.

We'll theme the tank
Exactly to the djo specs,

Including a logo decal, hoses,
A custom facade and canopy,

And even fish-safe ice cubes
Inside the tank.

I got to make up
For the djo budget debacle

By making sure
The bella terra tank is perfect.

Because the wave front is so big
And has such complex curves,

We made a mini version of it.

It'll give us an idea

Of the correct dimensions
For the full-size mold

And how to bond
Those two panels together.

A sheet of acrylic
Is big and expensive,

And we can't afford to make
Another mistake.

Wayde: brett,
Take the other piece out.

There we go.
Look at that bad boy.

That's gonna be the whole front
Of the tank.

Brett: this is
The right radius, right?

This is the exact radius
What we want.

So, it's gonna be one mold,

But we're gonna put it in
Two times.

It'd be a lot easier
To build one mold

And just curve one panel,

But our oven isn't 15 feet,

So we have to make
The front panel in two pieces.

It's gonna start off
Like this.

Out of the oven.
Exactly.

We're gonna bond it
Together,

And when it's finished,
We're gonna get this.

Hey!
15 years later.

Funny.

At this rate,
Another 15 more years,

You might be able to learn
How to use a screwdriver.

If you're lucky.

The tricky part is the bond.

Most bonds
Are like butt joints.

That means
They're flat together.

We need the strength,

So we're gonna have to cut this
On a miter joint,

Like 30, 40, maybe 45 degrees
To get that angle,

'cause you have
More surface to bond.

Just like this one's mitered.
You see that piece right there?

And these two pieces go
Exactly together and glue.

I'm glad we did a test run.
This thing's expensive.

This piece is like $15,000
For a sheet of material.

That's a lot of money.

We make a mistake,
And we're in trouble.

The big mold going.

The custom mold is built,

The oven and bent into shape,

And everything
Is polished and bonded.

Now we need to
Make this thing look

Like the iceman
Cold-therapy unit.

The iceman has a hose
That pumps cold water to a pad.

We need to re-create this
Using clear nylon tubing.

The only thing
We have to come up with now...

Is the bubble effect.
Correct.

So it looks like
Water's running through it.

You can't hook up a bubbler

Because the air
Has nowhere to escape.

And if it's inside
Of a closed tube,

The thing could explode.

Denny, I know you got
A couple of ideas.

You've been chewing at it.

One of the solutions
I came up with is

I've got a clear resin.

It's part "A," part "B."
We'll mix those together.

We'll have
A short amount of time

To blow bubbles
Inside of there.

If we do it just right,

Then maybe we can get
The bubbles to stay.

So, it looks like water
Bubbling through the tube.

Blowing some air in it
Before it gets hard

So the air's
Already in it.

All right, let's do it.

As I stir, I can feel it getting
Warmer and warmer.

It's gonna fire off
At about 180.

It's pretty clear, though.
It looks good.

We didn't want to make it black,
So we made it clear

So you can actually see, like,
Water flowing through it.

So, of course, brett,
With no hair, came up with gel.

So, the tube's filled

I wasn't bald always.
I had hair at one time.

We like to theme our fish
Based upon the companies

That we're doing
These projects for.

So, because you guys have worked
With so many sports teams,

You know, pro and college,

We gave you fish that actually
Have some different colors.

The mascot of the tank,
Since we're in san diego,

Is the bicolor angel
Because he's gold and blue.

And then we have the monos,
Which are the guys up at top,

And these guys
Are really hardy fish,

And the great thing
About them is

They can go in freshwater
Or saltwater,

So they can kind of ref
Two different sports.

And also, we have
A blue tang right here,

Which is black and blue

'cause we know that some of the
People you've worked on before,

After their injuries,
Got to be black and blue.

That would make an impression
When you got here

And leave an impression
When you left,

And this will absolutely leave

So, when we first came

You guys weren't really part
Of our initial visit,

So this is kind of a surprise
To you guys what it looks like.

So, what do you guys think?

The wave,
The size of it,

I mean, the dimensions,
The fish, everything.

I mean, it's exactly
What we were looking for.

Actually, it's better than
I thought it was gonna turn out.

One of the things
That you guys wanted to do

That these guys
Were adamant about

Was about
Bringing the ocean indoors.

We wanted to do
The wave theme

To kind of bring the wave
Into the lobby.

We had to use two sheets
To make this tank in our oven,

And then we had to bond it
Together.

We have two waves that go in
And two waves that go out.

One of the things
That we did do is

We we wanted to replicate kind
Of how, when you're diving,

It's gonna look
Underneath the water.

We also usually cover
The whole background with coral,

But we wanted to give it
Some depth,

So we just kept the blue

To kind of give you
That ocean feel

And to showcase
The beautiful fish.

Every piece that you see in here
Is handmade, colored,

And hand-painted
On the coral insert.

I'm a big diver,
And I love to see this stuff.

I mean, I'm looking for exactly
What was in the ocean in here,

And this looks
Exactly like it.

Since you guys
Have a community here,

We wanted to give you
Community fish.

We wanted to make sure
That everybody was
Gonna live together

Kind of like, hopefully,
Your tenants are gonna
Live together,

So we have a variety
Of different kinds
Of schooling fish.

We have green chromis.

We have naso tangs,
Which are called lipstick tangs.

Those guys come from hawaii.

We have
Heniochus butterflies.

We have sailfin tangs,

And the reason
We wanted to get those guys

Is 'cause they kind of
Look like sailboats

When they have
Their wings expanded.

Yeah, we have a stingray
In there,

Which kind of gives you
That wave effect.

But, once again,
The ocean into the lobby.

Who took the master suite?

It's called the king.

There's only one of them
Inside the tank.

You can see it's the biggest
Fish in the aquarium.

These are a lot of the species
That you're gonna see

When you
Actually go diving,

So you might recognize
A lot of them.

We did the impossible --

Pulled off two successful
Installs in one day,

All thanks to me, soon-to-be
Employee of the month.

The atm saltwater tank for djo
Is 475 gallons,

Weighs 4,750 pounds,

And is themed to look like

Djo's state-of-the-art
Iceman cold-therapy unit

With decals, hoses, facade,
Canopy, and ice cubes.

For bella terra,

We built
A luxurious saltwater tank

That brought the ocean indoors

For the residents of this
Upscale apartment complex.

It's 1,300 gallons,

Weighs 13,000 pounds,

And has a 15-foot-long wave
Front panel.

I put in the work.

Now it's time to claim
My employee of the month prize.

Now we're here to announce
The employee of the month.
