Is unbelievable.

What we're missing?

This hospital always
Used to have a fish tank.

And when we did the expansion,
There's no more fish tank.

And so, nationwide insurance
Wanted to donate

A fish tank
To the hospital.

The kids really missed
Having the fish tank.

They kept asking us.

So, what we've done
Is put a sign up that said,

"The fish are on vacation."

So, where do you guys want
The aquarium?

Well, we happen to have a place
That's called the pond.

This is where
The old aquarium used to be,

And it's kind of a main part
Of the public pathway,

So it gets
A lot of traffic.

We just make it completely just,

I think, as you can see,
We've really tried

To bring nature

All sorts of elements

For the kids.

So, it would be great

A way to incorporate that
Into the aquarium.

Logs, plants.

And they got a lot of animals
Floating around, too.

So, we could definitely put all
Kinds of cool stuff in there.

And one of the important
Things for us to do

Is to try to create
An environment

That decreases the amount
Of anxiety and stress

That families and patients
Are under.

And I tell you,
One of the things

That I think people really enjoy
Is the sound of a waterfall.

Is that possible to do?

Yeah, we could do it.

Some modifications

So we put the flasher in it.

We got to make sure
Everything's just right

So when it takes the picture,
It looks really good.

For the children's hospital.

It's gonna have a custom
Waterfall in it.

This is a special tank because
The area is air-controlled,

So our aquarium --
We have to control that area

To make sure
The children are healthy

And the hospital
Has clean air.

What can get into the air
From the aquarium?

There's a lot of things.

Stuff that's inside
The aquarium,

Whether the water's dirty,

Could get into the air
Through evaporation.

We're gonna have to seal
The whole tank

Against the wall and everything.
Okay.

Brett: we drew up our idea
For the tank,

And the hospital loved it.

A 10-foot-tall faux rock wall

Will be the backdrop
To this slice of nature.

The insert will come to life

Inside the 14 1/2-foot-tall
Curved aquarium

When a waterfall trickles
Halfway down the rocks

And into the pond below.

A habitat of handmade critters
And cattails

Will give the vibrant,
Saltwater fish

Plenty of places to hide.

All the plumbing and filtration
Will be tucked away

Inside the stand.

The top and bottom facade will
Completely seal the tank

So it will be one safe,
Self-contained,

Nurturing piece of nature.

Wayde: I grabbed frankie,
Redneck, and some acrylic

To figure out
A potential problem

With the nationwide
Children's tank.

This tank's gonna be half-full
With water, okay?

Now, if it's half full,

And we have a waterfall in here,
It's gonna splash.

And if it splashes,

It's gonna hit
The front of this tank.

It's gonna fog up.

Kids aren't gonna be able
To see in it.

When the tank is full,

There's no extra space
For this to be an issue.

But since water droplets
And condensation

Can fog the inside of this tank,

We're running a test
On a smaller piece of acrylic

To figure out
How to clear it off

Before we actually build
The tank.

Frankie, grab this.

The temperature of the tank's
Gonna be different

Than the temperature
Of the room,

So that means
Condensation's gonna build up.

Exhale
On the whole front face.

[ exhales deeply ]
That's what's gonna happen.

That's gonna happen
Everywhere.

You're not gonna be able
To see in the tank.

That's gonna be a problem.

We're working on
A really cool waterfall tank

For nationwide
Children's hospital.

And with the tank
Only being half full,

We got a real problem
On our hands.

The temperature of the tank's

Gonna be different than
The temperature of the room,

So that means condensation's
Gonna build up.

Frankie, turn the nozzle
So you get a stream.

That clears it up more.

We need something
That's consistent.

So, when it takes the picture,

We get both worlds.

It's the best
Of both worlds.

That will serve

As the colorful, ocean backdrop,
And one freshwater in front.

A camera encased
In a waterproof, acrylic box

Will sit inside the front tank.

With the help of some
Snazzy coral and flashy fish,

Booth patrons will look
More like deep-sea divers.

Since the event is outside,

Chillers will sit
Behind each tank

To help our finned friends
Keep cool and comfortable.

And once we spruce up
The facade,

This fish-filled photo booth
Will have everyone smiling.

The rock-and-tree-limb backdrop
For the children's hospital tank

Is coming along.

All we have to do
Is test the waterfall

And see how it trickles over.

Hey, the hospital
Was very adamant

About this thing being
Self-contained.

Can't have any water
Dripping outside.

It's very, very important.

One slip up could compromise
The environment for the kids.

Here it goes.

Multiple layers isn't a problem.

Can't be in the water

Or reflecting
Off the acrylic

'cause it's gonna bounce
Off the acrylic
And cause that glare.

You could run an external
Flash to the outside.

And then, they take
The picture through the tank,

And then the bulbs go ksht!

I'm not concerned
With the flash on this tank,

But the background tank --
There's a possibility

That there might
Be a glare.

He went to high school,
And took a photography class.

That's right.

Be submerged underwater,

We got to make sure
Our seal is nice and tight.

With solvent.

And strong.

Fill in the void
All the way around.

What we're using
Really isn't glue.

It's a chemical that
Melts the two pieces
Of acrylic together

And makes it one strong,
Solid piece.

I'd let this sit
For a good 20 minutes.

So, when this is done,

Which they're called
Onyx clowns.

Is so exciting right now.

They're coming up with
All new types of fish.

A mix between the nemo,

Which is the ocellaris,

And the black-and-white
Ocellaris.

You get more of
A dusky-colored one,

And look how beautiful
They are.

The kids will love them.

No two really
Even look the same.

Crawling around.

We called them "Water dogs."

They're kind of like
A little lizard

Walking around underwater.

I know. They look prehistoric,

This guy here
Is a giraffe-nosed catfish.

They're also known
As gentle giants.

Oh, are they?

They're very calm, soothing.

They just cruise around.

But that nose, the way
It comes out -- unbelievable.

His hair back for his closeup.

Why'd you do that?
Well, there's a few reasons.

One is that when you get
A bunch of people in there,

You can get the wide lens
And get everybody.

And we also wanted the fish
To swim in front of it

To have a freshwater feeling

With the saltwater feeling
Right behind you.

Ingenious, huh?
Yeah.

So, we're gonna be able to shoot
Through all these tanks?

Crystal clear.

Insane.

It's a fish-tank
Photo booth.

Brett: I know we changed
The exterior a little bit,

But we kept the vintage top,
Put all the camera equipment,

All the lighting
For the aquarium --

Everything's
Up inside there.

This is completely
Over-the-top.

We do event photography,

But this thing,
This is an event by itself.

So, we got all kinds
Of different fish.

What's that one with
All the spines and stuff?

A lionfish.

We also have a naso tang.

We have a blueface angel.

On the other side,
On the freshwater side...

We have
Blue and gold gouramis.

We also have
Red-parrot cichlids.

And what are those fish
That you really like?

I call them water dogs.

They're called water dogs.
They have feet, right?

Children's hospital tank.

And we made it

Just as redneck and kyle
Are driving the tank in.

They just traveled
Over 40 hours

From vegas to columbus
To deliver the tank,

And I know
They're just as anxious as us

To get the tank installed.

Children's hospital.

We got to be cautious.
We got to be quiet.

We got to make sure
Everything's nice and clean.

So, what am I doing here?

Well, you are messy,
You are loud, and you are dirty,

But we do need your help.

The hospital
Has strict guidelines

We have to operate under.

Getting this tank

Inside the building's

With the inserts, this tank's
A whopping 2,300 pounds.

...Which is underwater here.

He made some snails up top.

He made a little gecko
Over here in the corner.

Brett: frog.

Yeah, there's a frog,
A bullfrog down in here.

We thought it was very important
To get that color,

You know, the uniqueness,

The bright colors in there,
As well.

And you have
The custom waterfall

That's being pumped up

With the same water
That's in the aquarium.

And is that a rain shower
Up at the top of that?

What happens is
Is when you have the water here,

And it's self-contained,
Enclosed,

This is gonna build up
With moisture.

So, every once in a while,
It clicks on and clicks off

So you can actually
See through the aquarium

So there's no condensation.

Dr. Allen:
Having this fish tank is just
Such a tremendous addition.

We wanted something that brought
Nature into the hospital,

And this fish tank

Just really animates that space
To such a degree.

We really weren't sure they
Could pull it off, but wow.

We have a magnificent foxface
And the regular foxface,

Which are right up front.

We also have
A powderblue tang right here.

These guys
We relate to the hospital

Because they're called
The surgeonfish.

They have blades by their tails
That look like scalpels.

We also have a flame angel,
Which is red.

It flows perfectly.
I mean, it's amazing.

Dr. Allen:
And really, coming in,

It looks like it was built
As part of that wall there.

As you can see by how many
People we have down here

To "Ooh" and "Ah"
At this fabulous creation,

It just helps us create
This healing environment

That's just so important
To our patients and families

And for our staff,
As well.

And we can't
Thank you enough for it.

Hospital goes back six decades.
