The whole thing look

And that they can actually chomp

And hard shells.

So what we had to do was

This entire skeleton molded.

And I created a bar
That had the lights on it.

To stick that in there blind,

So the positioning was
Kind of guesswork.

Maybe a little more light
On this side.

Is it hard
To cut this out?

It involves me getting in there
With a roto tool,

Cutting that thing out,
Repositioning it over,

Re-pouring the resin.

We still have
To actually get this,

Set it in the coral insert.

We have to stand it
So it's right and seal it.

We have to hide
All these wires.

You have to go into surgery
Right now, dude, seriously.

They're very calm fish.

They're from south america,
And they like to hang out

By roots in lakes
In muddy water.

Obviously, they got their
Name because they're
Shaped like disks.

Their body's really compressed,

And they're actually
In the cichlid family.

They have eyes that can see you
From across the room.

So as your patients
And as people are walking by,

They're actually gonna be
Staring at them

And watching
What's going on.

You notice they come

In a variety
Of different colors.

Pigeon red.

We have the snow white discus,
Turquoise discus.

Great thing about these guys is
As you feed them,

You can enhance their color
With food.

[ chuckling ] Wow.

All the little fish
That you see there,

It's a variety
Of schools of tetras,

And then we have the fish

That look like they have
Big jaws.

Those are called hatchets

'cause they actually look like
A little hatchet.

All the plants in it are
Alive.

Amazon swords.
We have ferns.

The plants help
With the fish waste.

What it does is
They work together.

So, the fish waste,
Basically, is --

Taken by the plants.
Feeds the plants,

And then the plants grow,

And it helps keep your nitrates,
Your ammonia levels down.

A live bed of gravel --
A substrate.

Has a mud base in it
The roots can get into

And actually absorb
So they can grow.

This thing's gonna grow wild.

You might have to trim it.

It's like getting a haircut
Once in a while.

Brett doesn't know
About that.

In addition to the trimming,

The doctors will
Have to watch out

For algae growth,
Because with simulated sunlight,

It will grow faster
Than in a normal tank.

Once the plants take root,

You can't change out
The substrate,

So adding nutrients to the water
Is key for healthy growth.

To be quite honest,

How beautiful and how much
It blends with everything.

When saltwater splashes
On a surface

And discolors it and corrodes it
Over time.

In other words, the drywall's
Gonna look like crap.

What does that mean?

Means we got to figure out a way
To make it black.

If the acrylic is colored
With black vinyl,

In the event of saltwater
Dripping back there,

You won't be able to see
The salt creep.

We can't put this in
Right now.

We got to make that black,
Finish it, and do it right.

One thing that was
Extremely important to you was

Having the spine to be
Anatomically correct,

So our friend denny
At l.V. Props actually took

A grade-a medical skeleton
And molded off of it,

So that is
Actually anatomically correct.

I said that we were gonna be
Able to light things up

So people can see
What they are.

Guess what. We were able
To make that happen.

To take his top spine

And push it up and lodge himself
Into rock for protection.

A lunare wrasse in there.
A sunset wrasse.

You have a queen angel,
Which comes from the caribbean.

You have a bunch
Of yellow tangs.

A harlequin tusk.

We got harlequin tusk,
Which comes from australia.

There's a hogfish back there.

He knows his fish.

That's packed to the gills
With calming discus fish

And lush live plants.

It's 480 gallons, 8 feet long,
And weighs 4,800 pounds.

And we installed
Specialized filtration

And lighting that'll keep
This underwater forest

Growing strong.

Joey over at dynamic spine got
A wave-front saltwater tank

That weighs 4,500 pounds.

It's viewable from two rooms

And has
An interactive spine insert.

Yeah,
So when I throw out my back

From carrying your workload,

I'll go see joey
And tell him where it hurts.
