Max: we opened in 1959.

It was actually my grandparents
That opened it originally.

We just want something
Astounding,

Something that represents
Who we are,

Which is, you know,
The best in vegas.

Everything that you see here
Kind of lends itself

To being an aquarium 'cause we
Got that kind of glass look.

Everybody can really peer in.

So, that's where I'm coming
To you guys and saying,

"Where's your creativity on it?"

We never did
One of these before.

This is kind of cool.

To make, like,
A display case.

Actually an aquarium
Would be a cool little shape.

I can do this if they want.

I guess my only concern there
Would be

If we have them stacked
Right next to each other,

It's just gonna look like
We're selling fish over there.

At our old location,

Where we were at
For 30 years,

We used to have a case
Just like this.

It wasn't quite as modern
As this one.

It was really
Just kind of boxy,

But it had a kind of
Nostalgic look to it,

You know, a little retro,
A little vintage.

People can even see it
From the outside.

When they walk in, it's just --

I met my wife on that corner.

We would have been married
For 40 years in june.

We'll start by constructing
A 20-foot-long racetrack tank

That will span the restaurant.

Inside the tank,

You'll find three pillars
Of coney island

Which will take your eyes
For a ride,

The parachute drop,
The wonder wheel,

And the cyclone.

And we'll top off
This aquatic amusement park

With sharks and other various
Thrill-seeking fish.

Wayde: it's always tough
Leaving new york,

But we got to get started
On this tank right away.

Little did I know there would be
Some big changes at atm

When I got back.

Whoa!

What'd you do?

Robbie: I shaved.

Looking good! I haven't seen
That face in 20 years.

The acrylic for applebee's' tank
Is coming together.

Now our prop master, denny,

He's figuring out how to build
Miniature rides

To hide our overflow boxes,

Which are crucial to cycle
The water in the tank

And keep it healthy
For the fish.

Now, we have to cosmetically
Design those pieces

Around these boxes.

So, this, then,

According to the rendering,
Is the parachute.

So we can't go any smaller
Than this.

These boxes have to stay
This size.

We need to turn
The water over

A minimum of 10 times
Per hour.

If I make them any smaller,
I will not be able to do that.

For stability
And to hide this,

I recommend we start
Probably about here, curve up,

And then
Flare a little bit.

And we'll put
Just enough detail

In the steel
And the bars and stuff

To give it the impression
Of how it's supposed to look.

With 1 1/2-inch-thick acrylic

And wrap in eye-popping
Bright white.

The display case door will open

To give customers a better view
Of the interior,

Which will be stocked
With silicone replicas

Of cakes by freeds bakery.

We will put a spin
On our typical aquarium build

By having the cakes rotate
On acrylic shelving.

Finally, we'll sprinkle in
Colorful fish

To accent
The beautiful pastries.

Sweet!

For the bakery tank in place,

We're gaining momentum
On the applebee's tank.

On the top, we have a gear.

Then we lay a motor with a gear
The opposite way,

And it makes it spin.

All we're gonna have to do
Is figure out

The right size motor
And the spin.

Imagine going down there
When the thing spins,

And the cake starts flying
Off the trays.

Well, it won't go too far.
It'll hit the window.

From corrosion when it comes
In contact with salt water.

The first step is making sure
All the steel is clean.

They do this by wiping it down
With acetone.

If there's residue on the steel,
The powder won't stick.

After everything is clean,

An electrostatic charge
Is applied.

As they spray on the powder,

The charge makes it stick
To the steel.

So that's grounding it.

So as he's spraying,
It's sticking to it.

It'll suck in, yes.

What if you touch it
With your arm?

You get a little shock.

Surround our custom-made

Acting as a playground to over
150 fish that swim inside.
