With this build

Is gonna be
Seamlessly integrating

The mammoth 35-foot-long tank
Into a pre-existing space.

It's gonna be more than a tank.

It's gonna be a wall dividing
The casino from the bar.

And since it will be so massive,

We'll fill it
With huge coral inserts

And extra-large
Eye-catching fish.

Jackpot, baby!

I'm gonna need a steel stand
At least 48 inches tall

To get all that filtration
Equipment in there.

Okay, well, obviously,
Whatever you guys need --

You're the experts, so...

Yeah, the tank
Will go from here up.

Perfect.

Once it's filled with water,

This tank is gonna weigh
Almost 15 tons.

Handle that much weight?

We dug out the floor.
We repoured the concrete.

So it'll withstand any weight

It's a very large job. It's not
One that you do every day.

To build this whole thing

Blowtorches, and chisels.

You set it down, it burns a hole

Heating the water
Without melting the ice

Is gonna be very difficult.

And work with the temperature

And they gave me souvenirs
To bring back to atm.

That get down to 20 degrees,

Where they create these
Incredibly lifelike structures

That they're known for.

These freezers should mimic
The conditions at the ice bar.

We make ice blocks 24/7.

We probably make close to 900
To 1,000 a month.

You sit here day and night,
Make these blocks,

You bring them
Into the freezer,

And then you guys do your crazy
Sculpture and all that stuff.

You good at it?

I'm no good.
This is what I have him for.

So, tell me
What you got going on.

We're doing a project
In the ice bar.

We needed like a freezer

We can actually put the tank in
With the water,

Get it cold like where
We're gonna be putting it.

And then we have to
Regulate it inside

To make sure
We keep the fish alive,

Without melting
The surrounding ice.

Our hope is that we can use
The submersible heater.

We want to keep the water
About 60, 65 degrees

To keep the jellyfish alive.

We also don't want the heat

To radiate through the
Inch-and-a-quarter acrylic

And melt the ice on the outside
Of the tank.

And I realize there's a wave

This wave will distort

And I'm not about to give them
Something that's not perfect.

When we bond two sheets
Together, there's a seam.

Where that seam is,
Sometimes there's a wave.

We have to do a lot of sanding
On both panels

To make sure there's no wave.

It's not easy to do.

Got a wave in it.

We still have to sand
And polish it.

I got guys on it.

It's gonna take days
To sand this.

We got multiple things

The inserts are gonna be "B,"
Top/bottom "C."

We got to sand this thing
And get it just right,

So we got to get all men

This job could have taken days
To get done,

But once everybody was on board,
We kicked ass.

Now, that's up to my standards.

The 35-foot-long casino tank

Is sucking up a lot
Of the shop's resources.

But since the sand got redone,

Fernando was freed up
To work on the ice bar.

Noel from minus5° warned us

That people in the bar
Might get a little "Handsy"

With the tank
After a few drinks,

So we created a lip on the edge
To keep the tank in place.

When this thing's done,

The likes of charlie sheen

Couldn't knock this tank
Off the stand.

[ laughs ]

Look at this guy.

We walk out to the shop
And redneck was sleeping.

He must have had
Another long night.

Redneck doesn't have
Any set hours.

He works whenever he wants,

So he can take a break
Whenever he wants.

So we never really bust
His chops.

But right now we really got
To work on this ice-bar tank,

So it's time to wake him up.

[ air horn sounds ]

This is a jellyfish tank.

The issues
That we're gonna have

Is to make sure
The jellies

Actually go in a circular motion
In this tank.

Jellyfish are very fragile.

They can die if they come
Into contact with the corners

Or get caught
In the filtration system.

So we need to create a current

So the jellyfish move
In a circular motion safely.

So, what I'm thinking
Of doing is,

We put a diffuser plate.

We'll put that on an angle here,
Like a 45-degree angle --

One in the front,
I would say.

So this plate's
Gonna diffuse the water.

We'll put a diffuser plate

With a bunch of tiny holes
In the bottom corner

And another
In the opposite top corner.

Jets on the bottom of the tank
Will shoot water right up.

It'll bounce off
The top diffuser plate

And then will be sucked down by
A pump behind the bottom plate.

This will create
A constant circular current,

Making sure the jellyfish
Will never come in contact

With the corners of
The tank or the filtration.

We got to make sure
That those jellies

Don't actually get caught
On those holes,

'cause those jellies
Will turn to jam.

I like jam. It's got more chunks
In it than jelly.

Well, that's good for you,

But it's not good
For the jellyfish.

I think this is
Gonna work great.

Okay.

Wayde: I'm really proud
Of this shop.

They worked their rear ends off
Through the night

To get the inserts ready
On the casino tank.

That tank's 35 foot long.

Now comes the tricky part.

We got to make sure all hands
On deck and it goes smooth.

This tank's 35 feet long.

These inserts weigh
6,000, 7,000 pounds.

It's easier to take the tank
And slide it over the inserts

Than putting the inserts
Into the aquarium.

Everybody,
Get your hands on the tank!

This process is very tricky.

As we're lowering the tanks,

We can actually damage
The inserts,

Or we can scratch the tank,
So we got to be very careful.

Right now it doesn't line up.
It's cockeyed.

That's a big issue.

On it correctly,

But this is a problem.

Jellyfish may lack a brain
And a heart,

But they sure are eager eaters.

A small mouth on the underside
Of the jellyfish

Swallows and digests food whole.

The prey is broken down
In this cavity,

And nutrients are delivered
Throughout the body.

Then the same opening is used
To release waste.

Now, that's what I call
A real potty mouth.

Wayde: all right,
Bring it down slow.

Watch your fingers!

We lowered the valley view tank
On its face,

And it's not lining up.

We can be dealing with
A big problem right now.

First things first --
Let's get this squared up.

You got some room,
Twisting room -- not much.

If the walls of the tank

Don't line up
With the bottom perfectly,

We can't guarantee
A perfect seal.

Straighten the tank out.
Let's go, guys.

And when you're dealing
With 3,000 gallons of water,

You need a reliable seal.

Since the lift straps
Are off already,

We're gonna see if our guys
Can lift almost 2 tons by hand.

So right off the bat,

I'm thinking we go check out
Some sailfin tanks.

Right here, guys.

There's two types
Of sailfin tanks.

This is the desjardini.

They're beautiful.

Far and away
The most beautiful of the two.

They can get up
To dinner-plate size.

They can get a good size,
And they school.

Going up and around --

Unbelievable.

About these guys --

When they're on their side,

They look like a spade
On a playing card.

This is perfect
For a casino tank.

It weighs a half a ton,

With glowing moon jellies,

It took us 20 hours to install,

And it's kept at 60 degrees
In a 23-degree room.

It's been a week, and I'm just
Starting to feel my toes.

The valley view casino tank
Is a behemoth at 35 feet long,

It's a floor-to-ceiling
Room divider,

It took over 400 man-hours,

And its 30,000 pounds sits
On a reinforced concrete floor.

We couldn't have finished
Either tank

Without the atm family
Busting their butts for us,

So wayde and I decided
To stop by the ice bar

And bring them back
A refreshing little treat.
