We're two new yorkers
Who moved to las vegas

To follow our dreams...

To create underwater worlds
Like no one's ever seen.

We build aquariums.

We're the number-one
Aquarium builders in the world.

It's a family business,
For sure.

Into this relationship.

I married brett's sister.

And my dad runs operations.

We call him "The general."

But somehow we make it work.

That stand out to us --

You know, the ones that become
Our personal obsessions,

Our passion projects.

We may look tough,

But we definitely get emotional
About some tanks.

So, we're gonna break down
Our favorite tanks,

Pranks, and fish for you

And kick it off
With the best tank builds.

One of my favorite tank builds
Was the new york city-theme tank

That we did
For bill and kathy.

Being from new york, I love it
When we can incorporate

Our east coast roots
Into our tank builds.

Out of all the crazy stuff
That you brought into the shop,

That takes the cake.

New york, baby!

That phone booth was
A stroke of genius, my friend.

How many times back in the day
In new york city

Did you see these phone booths
On the corner?

They're all over,
Not just in new york.

When brett brought that
Hunk of junk into the warehouse,

I thought he was mental.

I mean, a phone booth
Represents new york

About as much as a freakin'
Mailbox on the corner.

I see this becoming
An awesome aquarium.

Despite the lack of support
I got from you bozos,

I still came up
With a pretty awesome design.

Once you explained all
The details you wanted to add,

I had a little more faith.

But I was still nervous
About turning a rickety
Phone booth into a tank.

Take a look. What do you think?

The silver lining here --

Even if brett's vision
Didn't pan out,

We had a great time-out spot
For the general.

[ both laugh ]

Wayde: but I still needed to
Figure out a way

To turn this junk
Into a tank.

I enlisted redneck, and
We started forming the acrylic

And stripping
The phone booth.

Hey, can you come out
In a superman outfit?

Redneck: no.

Yo!

You said
You needed a phone.

Your boy got a phone.

First, you brought me
This broken-down phone booth,

Then an ancient artifact
Of a phone.

Where do you come up
With these things?

What can I say?
I'm a resourceful guy.

What's a phone-booth tank
Without a phone?

Come on.

Well, you better
Start dialing 911,

Bringing me
That piece of garbage.

What do you mean, "Piece
Of garbage," red? Kidding me?

Put it in.
Get 'er done.

Get out of here.
You got a phone. Go. Go inside.

If can you gut this thing
And you put a clear over it,

It won't rust or anything
And then we could sit in there.

It's gonna look
Really good.

What was that, wayde?
I had a good idea?

Dude, there's a reason why
I wait till you leave the room

To say things like that.

First thing we did
With the phone was

We removed the insides so
It wouldn't corrode underwater.

We didn't want to harm
The fish.

Then we decided to turn the
Whole headset into a bubbler.

And then this is gonna be slowly
Just bubbling up a little bit.

That's gonna look
Really cool.

Brett: while we were out
Getting the fish,

Redneck was able
To finish the build.

Wayde: yeah, all in all,

I think it took about 50 hours
To finish this build.

Redneck and nick
Were up all night

Doing the coral insert
On the phone.

That looks like the
Phone booth's been underwater

For a year or two
With the coral growing on it.

That came out badass.

Saying "I told you so"
Never gets old.

Easy, guys! Easy.

With the tank finished, our
Final challenge was the install.

It's always nerve-racking

Not knowing
How these things are gonna go

Or if the client's gonna really
Like our finished product.

Watch your fingers, clyde.

Oh [bleep]
You're gonna bump it.

Let's get all the plastic
Off now, guys.

Aaron,
Get that corner over there.

Clyde, you have to go up
Three inches higher.

Look at this!
The real fire hydrant.

Fire hydrant's so real,
The dog's gonna walk up to it.

I know.

At this point, I thought we made
It through the hardest part.

Hey, I got a problem.

But, of course, there was
An issue with the tank.

Nothing's ever easy.

Look.

See that?

Brett: dude,
The holes aren't lining up.

You cut it too far over
To the right.

That's what I'm saying.

We got problems.

When I heard the holes weren't
Lining up for the plumbing,

I was pissed.

From the vision
To the execution,

This tank was my baby.

Aaron: dude,
That sucks so [bleep] Bad.

[bleep]

[bleep] Damn it.

No. For what?

Luckily,
It was brett to the rescue

With another
Brilliant idea.

You know, sometimes it's hard to
Be the one with all the ideas.

Does it fit?

It's perfect.

Oh, thank god.

Wayde:
If that hadn't worked,

We would have had to start from
Scratch and build a new tank.

It would have taken
Over a week...

Not to mention
Thousands of dollars.

Good thing I'm a genius and we
Were able to fill that puppy up

And get the fish in place.

All right, all right.

Enough patting yourself
On the back, tough guy.

That's the last one.

Fits likes a glove.

Almost want to make a call.

And then it was time
To show bill and kathy.

You never know
How a client's gonna react.

Even a superhero like me
Gets nervous sometimes.

Come on.

Whoa!

[ cheers and applause ]

Oh, my god.

Oh, wow.

Wayde:
Redneck made this custom bubbler
That's built into the receiver

So the receiver has bubbles
Coming out of it.

He added
All this custom coral to it

To give it a little age to it,

So like it's been underwater
For a little while.

It's beautiful.

And then brett picked out
All the fish.

Brett: we want it to feel like
It was like rush hour...

When the subways open up
And everybody comes running out.

You got a lot
Of different schools of fish,

All different kinds of people.

We got some yellow tangs.

They remind me
Of new york city taxi cabs.

Bill: we're actually feeling
Like we're on a street
Corner in new york,

And that really hits home and
Really touches me personally.

I couldn't have pictured
Anything better than this.

I mean, you guys
Outdid yourself.

Brett:
That tank turned out better

Than I could have
Ever imagined.

No doubt that was one
Of my favorite builds.

Even though I hate doing this,
I got to agree with you.

Well done.

When the guys called me out
Into the warehouse.

At this point, I thought maybe

And promised a client a
Flying-saucer tank or something.

We sold these inserts, they have
To go into an aquarium,

And there's no one here that can
Actually climb into the aquarium

And get them except you.

You did not tell him that
I'm going into someone's tank.

I'm not going

Why do I have to pay
For his screwup?

How awesome was it

That heather was yelling
At wayde and not at me?

So, when I saw those sharks,

I couldn't decide

I was shocked
To see sharks in that tank.

They weren't supposed to
Be there till next week,

But when I saw them,

I wouldn't get into that tank
Even if I could fit.

We're counting down our favorite
Tanks and our favorite pranks,

And we're right in the middle
Of an unintentional prank

We played on heather.

We convinced heather
To help us

Put these custom coral inserts
In this tank.

But once she saw that
There were sharks in the tank,

She was unconvinced.

Heather:
Are you out of your mind?
This is not what I'm going in.

That's not even funny.
I'm not going in.

Oh, my god.

So, when I saw those sharks,
I couldn't decide whether or not

I wanted to throw up
Or just smack brett in the head.

That's a blacktip right there!
I am not going in that tank!

Are you out of your mind?!

It's not that big of a deal.
They don't bite.

You go in!

Please.
This has to be done today,

So please go get your bathing
Suit on so we can get this done.

I'm not happy.
Whatever.

It was hands-down the
Scariest thing I have ever done.

Her toes --
They looked like squid.

The sharks --
They're starting to go nuts.

They probably thought
They were gonna get fed.

On three --
One, two, three, go.

Oh, my god.

There you go.

Oh, I'm sick to my stomach.
I hate you both.

Don't scratch
The front of the tank.

Yeah, yeah.
Watch the front.

Something tells me

That scratching the tank wasn't
The first thing on her mind.

Oh, yeah. You think?

Grab the pole.

Oh, my god.
You don't even understand.

I still get goose bumps
When I think about

Those sharks touching my legs
And rubbing up on me.

There's the blacktip!
Brett!

I'm down here. What am I doing?

I remember them poles.

We told heather
That those black poles

Were high-tech shark sticks
That kept sharks away,

But they were really
Just mop handles.

They're all by me right now!
Oh, my god!

This shark stick is not working!

Oh! Oh, my god!

You want some cheese
With that whine?

Heather: every part of my body
Was shaking,

I'm scared to death,
I'm doing you a favor,

And all you could do
Is laugh and make fun of me.

That's what brothers are for.

You owe me so big for this --
I have to tell you right now.

Boy, I'm dead tonight.

Do you want to tell them
What happened when we got home,

I paid for it.

You made me sleep on the couch
For three nights.

Another one of my favorite tank
Builds was the fêng-shui tank.

It was huge.

We also got to build an
Extra tank called the refugium,

And that was very cool.

Wayde:
If I remember correctly,

You had no idea what fêng shui
Was going into this.

Now, I remember,
When we talked on the phone,

We talked about it being, like,
A f-f-fang -- fêng --

Fêng shui.

Fêng shui?
Fang shui? Fêng shui?

Yes.
Okay.

I couldn't have said it
Better myself.

Actually, I could have.

It's a study, or the art,
Of proper placement of objects,

And that would bring a situation
The best luck,

Or, you know,
Things will flow smoothly.

Water represents containment
Of the energy, or life,

So if we put it
In the center of our house,

Hopefully this will radiate
To the rest of the house.

Brett: in keeping with
The harmony of a fêng-shui tank,

We decided to make this tank
A living-reef tank,

Where all the elements
Work together

To form
A sustainable ecosystem.

So, after learning
Fêng shui,

Zen master brett here
Got a little carried away

And started driving
Everybody nuts in the office.

This is all wrong.

Your computer monitor has to be
Facing northwest.

I don't know what you're doing
Right now.

Your paperweight needs to be
Northeast.

You know
You're out of your mind.

Brett:
This is a mess right here.

What you got going on
Right here -- this
Isn't gonna fêng-shui it.

"Fêng-shui it"? Really?
Is that your new catchphrase?

Hold on.

Turn a little bit this way.

The white dragon.

Wayde: while you were
Fêng-shui'ing everybody,

I actually got some work done
On the tank,

And I came up
With a great idea.

What we did is we actually
Built a refugium.

This is badass.

The refugium on this tank makes
It one of my favorite builds.

A refugium is basically
A water-filtration system

That lives below the main tank,

Allowing the owner
To cycle water through the tank

To support the ecosystem
Of the living-reef tank.

Even though I didn't have
Any help from zen master brett,

The tank and the refugium
Were finished

And ready
For the east coast install.

Brett:
This was a tough one to install.

We had a high-end client
That had big ideas, a big tank,

And a big house
With very small doors.

Now slide it, guys.

Keep going.
Just a hair more.

Good, redneck?
Yep.

Plus, the refugium tank
Had to go downstairs.

Watch your elbows.
Watch your elbows.

It was a tight squeeze.
Yeah.

It's not gonna spin
Once you get through there.

It ain't going.

If we break this now,
It's all over.

We got to start over.

Watch the corners
Of the tank

'cause we don't want to
Break it.

After we finally got
The refugium settled and placed,

Redneck and I started
To do the plumbing,

And typical brett
Started causing havoc.

Hey.
Redneck: what?

You know we're in
This fêng-shui house.

Look at this mess
That redneck creates.

Wayde:
Dude, he's on a jobsite.

I understand, but how many times
Did we talk about

Fêng shui and balance,
Prosperity?

You know what?
I got it. I got it.

Balance and harmony.
I'll make it easy for you.

Brett,
Stop fêng-shui'ing redneck.

Leave him alone.

See? It's catchy.

You're using "Fêng shui"
As a verb, too.

Just fêng-shui it, man.

Yeah, it's a good thing

To get the coral.

Me and redneck
Were gonna kill you.

Brett: so, these are a lot

Frags are actually fragments
Or pieces

That we're able to cut
Or snip off of mother colonies.

Okay.

And we've been growing mother
Colonies for over 10 years now.

The coral we used in this tank

Is actually what makes it
One of my favorite builds.

Our buddy darian
Uses propagated coral,

Which is eco-friendly and
Does not come from the ocean.

It was a really important part

Of making
This unique living-reef tank.

You want to touch a star?

That's a purple reef star.
How cool is that? Look at that.

How's --
[ brett growls ]

[ laughter ]

Did I scare you?

They don't bite.
[ growls, laughs ]

Messing with my little sister --
It never gets old.

Seriously, darian, I mean,
You got some beautiful pieces.

We're gonna clean you out.

Long enough to put
The sand in and fill it up.

All right, guys. It's time to
Put the fish in, so let's roll.

And with the corals in place,
We loaded in the fish,

And it was time
To show the lees their tank.

Whoa.

What do you guys think, huh?

Oh, my god.

Nice. Beautiful.

And the lees loved it.

But I had to prove to them

That I successfully incorporated
The fêng-shui elements.

Like, these fish
Right here --

They're called firefish.

If you see, at the end,
We have flame scallops.

We have a lot of purple,
You know, for prosperity --

The purple starfish.

And none of the fish that we put
In here are gonna harm the reef.

I have had tanks before
But nothing like this.

Right.
This is amazing.

One of my favorite tanks

Is a tank that we made look like
A real beer keg.

And it all started with
Our client erin in new jersey

Who wanted to surprise
Her fiancé

With a tank
For his man cave.

We came up
With the brilliant idea

To have the tank
In the shape of a keg.

So, of course,
We had to use real kegs.

We had to drink a lot of beer
To empty those kegs.

I think all in all that night,
We drank about a six-pack each.

Yeah, I think you're right.
I was a little bit tipsy.

Didn't we fall asleep
In redneck's trailer?

Speak for yourself, creep.
I took a cab home.

Whatever.

You know what?

Speaking of sleep,

Remember redneck had passed out
In his chair?

Wait, wait,

He was practically begging
To get messed with.

We talked about
The classic sleeping pranks.

We decided to do something

So, wayde and I know how crazy
Redneck can get when he's angry.

So that's why
We made frankie do it.

[ laughs ]

Dude, redneck was angrier
Than a hillbilly in an outhouse

With no toilet paper
Who had to use his cowboy hat.

After redneck
Put the tank together...

...It looked good,

But I thought it needed more
Of a manly centerpiece.

Wayde: that's manly.
Look at the size of that.

Look at the curve
On that thing!

No one has ever done that
Before.

A shaped-like-a-barrel
Acrylic tank?

I've never seen it.

Are you nuts?

That's for the man cave!

I understand
What you're going with that,

But do you realize how hard
That's gonna be to form?

Adding this barrel keg
On top

Is what makes this
One of my favorite builds.

It was and still is
The only one ever built,

But it was no cakewalk.

I mean, really.

But, hey, you can do it.

Redneck, you can do anything,
Though. We know that.

Well,
That's beside the point.

It took over 250 pounds
Of acrylic,

Over 200 man-hours,
But it was one of a kind.

It was worth it.

I got to be honest
With you guys.

This tank
Is really cool.

Isn't it?
It is.

It's the only one
In the world.

I never seen one
In a barrel shape.

Yeah,
It's like a barrel shape.

So,
We're heather-approved.

As if that matters.

And we set off for the install
In new jersey.

That man-cave install --
That was a beast.

I mean, we were under the gun
'cause it was a surprise.

And it started out okay.

Yeah. We're putting the
Finishing touches on right now.

Awesome. Thank you.

Now, that was a bold-faced lie,
Because what she didn't know --

There was a major leak
In one of the fittings

That we had to fix
On the fly.

All right,
Let's cross our fingers.

Oh, yeah.

Don't snap it.

It's got at least a quarter-turn
Right now.

Yeah, but you can cross-thread
Now and snap it.

No, he's fine.

Redneck: go ahead, wayde.
Lower it down.

A disaster.

First pet fish?

The answer is...

When wayde was 10 years old,

His dad took him
To a long island pet store

To get his first pet fish,

And he chose a piranha,
Which he named fred.

Weirdly enough,

Wayde has actually named
All of his pets fred.

What's wrong with that guy?

Beyond hell,

Spontaneous combustion,
Ass blaster hot sauce.

I mean, there's

The freakin' world.

I spent countless hours
Looking for the perfect one.

It really shocks me
You used work time for this.

I'm gonna spice up

And then, after I spice up
His chicken sandwich,

I'm gonna spice up his drink.

From the drink

And the heat from the thing,
And he's just gonna be on fire.

We have to look at the heart
And soul of atm -- the fish.

I think we all have
Our favorites

When it comes to
Our little aquatic buddies.

Yes, we do.

We put some badass fish
In those tanks.

Everybody knows by now
That I love the octopus,

But I also love
The goatfish.

The la jolla group had one
Of those in their tank.

He's got these two barbs
That hang down,

And what he does is

He sifts around
Through the sand on the bottom.

He looks for crabs and squid,
And that's what they eat.

But he's going to town
Everywhere

Looking for food right now.

Wayde: and the dragon eel

Is one of the baddest-looking
Fish in the water.

But if I had to choose
A favorite,

It would be
The emperor angelfish.

We used those in the mob tank.

Looks like
It's wearing pinstripes.

Looks like he's ready for jail.

The emperor angel,
When they start off as kids,

They're actually blue
With white rings on them.

When they become an adult,

They have yellow and blue
Stripes on them.

They're beautiful.

Plus, the emperor angelfish --
He's the king, like me.

Oh, boy.
Those are cool.

But what about
The princess parrotfish?

We used those
In the mob tank, too.

They're one of the most
Beautiful and colorful fish --

Bright blue, pink,
And orange.

Most people associate them
With their beauty,

But they have
Really strong teeth and jaws,

Like the beak of a parrot,
And you can actually hear them

Crunching their teeth on coral
Under the water.

These fish have beauty
And brawn, just like me.

That's right, honey.

But I think my favorite fish
Is the puffer fish.

They just have
An awesome personality.

I like the porcupine puffer
We put in the skateboard tank.

Now, that was a cool fish.

Brett: I smell what
You're cooking, heather.

I'm partial
To the dogface puffer fish.

It's got these big expressive
Eyes and a pouty little mouth.

Plus,
They make a killer pet.

I mean, they have
A great personality,

And you don't even have to
Walk them.

Great one, brett.
So witty, this one.

But I think
If I had to pick one,

The clown triggerfish
Is my favorite.

It has a superstrong jaw

To crush and eat crustaceans
And sea urchins.

And I like to think
He reminds me of myself --

Unique-looking and funny.

By chile's grandmother.

Because this tank was suspended
Over the top of the bed,

Making sure the stand can handle
The weight of the tank

Was critical.

Are you a little nervous?

We got the "Maggie b." replica
Built.

Then all we needed to do was
To get this thing transported,

Which was gonna be
A challenge.

Yeah, and if I recall,
You might have overexaggerated

On how difficult
Moving this tank might be.

This, of course, is too tall
To get into manhattan.

Yeah, dummy.

And you know what?

Redneck did have trouble
