SECRET HEALER

SECRET HEALER

Yeon-hee!

EPISODE 16

Now that you know I have her,

go and get your leader.

You just need to make a wish for it to come true.

What did you wish for?

Well, I...

It's a secret.

If I tell you, it might not come true.

Goodness.

I...

I only want good things to happen to you.

I don't want you to see the awful things of this world.

I only want you to see the beautiful things in life.

Once you look back on the path you took,

I hope you see a sweet and lovely path.

Now, purify the Princess who is bound by the evil curse.

What is holding you back?

Lord Choi also hesitated in every decisive moment.

Look at what happened.

Look how that pretty Yeon-hee has changed.

You must end this tragedy.

You are the only one who can relieve Yeon-hee from this pain.

To find out if you're telling the truth,

I must light the True Samadhi Fire.

Light the fire.

Then it will bring, Yeon-hee, who you desperately wanted, back.

Poong-yeon.

Poong-yeon.

Yeon-hee.

What happened?

Didn't you say the Princess was inside?

Are you sure you brought her?

Ask your shamans. They saw me with her.

Then, where did the Princess go?

I don't know either.

She has to die in the True Samadhi Fire.

I told you to burn her to death.

She should be inside.

Where did she go?

I told you, I don't know.

Why are you so upset?

We must find the Princess

and burn her to death immediately,

We need to do it before she realizes that

the brother whom she trusted was trying to kill her.

What must I do now?

Help Hong-joo.

Kill the cursed princess and protect Yeon-hee.

That is why you have inherited my powers.

You want me to help Hong-joo?

Is that your wish?

That is what you should do to protect the royal family.

What should I do if you pose a danger...

to Yeon-hee?

If you are still not free from her

how can I trust what you say?

Do not trust what I say.

What happened?

Your brother gave me this...

to save you.

Poong-yeon.

-Yeon-hee. -What have you done?

What did you do to her?

Are you all right?

I needed to find out what Hong-joo was really after.

What do you mean?

She was trying to kill you

with the True Samadhi Fire.

Are you saying there is another way

to kill me?

I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. You must have been scared.

The True Samadhi Fire...

What is that? Are you saying she wants to burn her to death?

I control the True Samadhi Fire.

So, she cannot hurt Yeon-hee.

Is that why...

Hong-joo is trying to work with you?

The other night,

Father came to my cell with Hong-joo.

We must not delay any longer.

We must find Hong-joo...

and lock her up.

I know...

where she is.

Why did you make the boundary for the princess?

If you hadn't lost your powers because of her,

we could have killed her already.

You did this to yourself.

I didn't want you to end up like this.

Please.

Please...

There is only one thing

I need you to do.

I need you to break that boundary

that you risked your life to make.

You created it, so only you can break it.

Make sure that the curse

makes Jun fall

and turns the Princess' hair white

so that she has nowhere to hide.

Do you understand?

If I do that,

can you capture the Princess?

We need to make sure your son does not fail again.

Bring me to the King!

I need to tell him something.

The King

cannot abandon me like this.

Do you know that

the King and I are on the same side?

Come here. You heard me, right?

The King can't do this to me.

If you knew the offerings I had given to the King,

you would be shocked.

What a scum. Keep it down.

What?

What did you just call me?

Don't you know who I am?

What is he talking about? Let's go.

"Let's go"? What's your name?

Hold on.

Please.

You know my mother, right?

Yes.

I'll tell my mother...

to make sure

your pockets are nice and full

so please bring my mother here.

Okay, I will.

Bring him his food.

What? You scoundrel!

I know what you look like. Tell me your name!

Keep it down and eat.

Get back here!

Do you call this food?

I won't eat it!

This isn't food.

I'm not going to eat.

I'm hungry.

Mother...

Hey, you bum!

Hey, you.

Hey.

-Hey! -You startled me!

You could have just called me. You didn't have to scare me.

I called you several times.

Have you seen Jun lately?

He looked like he was being chased by someone.

Jun is...

doing okay.

Why won't things quiet down already?

Bad things keep happening to those I need to protect

and I feel like a fool for not being able to help them.

He is so boring.

Where are you going? You asked me first.

Goodness.

I hate it when people grab onto me.

I really don't know what to do.

We're losing time and we need to light the candles

but Yeon-hee keeps growing weaker.

I don't know even know where Lord Choi has gone.

Last night...

Never mind.

Go on your way. Go.

Hey.

Do you look down on me?

Or are you that comfortable with me?

What?

You share everything with me.

Could it be?

-Do you... -What?

-How do I say it? -What?

Do you like me?

No!

You seem to have a lot on your mind already.

Don't like me, okay?

You'll just get hurt.

You should go. Bye.

Hey, no!

No!

Hey, Stumpy! No!

I like women who are tall.

Jun.

Hong-joo tried to kill Yeon-hee again.

I heard about last night.

I heard Poong-yeon inherited the True Samadhi Fire.

We thought since only Lord Choi had control over the fire,

it would be impossible to threaten Yeon-hee with it.

If we don't stop Hong-joo,

Yeon-hee may die.

If she can't use black magic, she is nothing but a mere mortal.

Is there really no way

to stop Hong-joo from using black magic?

Not that I know of.

No. I'm sure there is.

I need to go to Sogyeokseo and look for a way.

What are you doing here?

I was looking for you.

What is it?

What will you do now?

I must capture the Princess.

Do you have a plan?

Don't worry.

Lord Choi will help us.

What?

Don't you know

that Lord Choi is now on our side?

What have you done to my father?

He died because of the Princess

but I saved him using black magic.

Where is my father right now?

He went to see his daughter.

We have matters to tend to.

Are you all right?

Yes, Your Highness. I have recovered completely.

You look worse than I do.

Is it because the deadline is drawing near?

I should not have crossed the boundary.

It is all in the past.

Father.

I came to ask you something.

You came...

to my cell with Hong-joo last time.

You were...

trying to kill me, weren't you?

Of course not.

Why would I want to kill you?

I know that you're under Hong-joo's spell.

My father...

would never harm me.

So, please...

Please come back.

Father.

Jun!

Yeon-hee.

Go to Yeon-hee quickly.

Father.

Father, get a hold of yourself.

It's me, Poong-yeon.

Lord Choi.

My lord.

My lord.

My lord.

My lord.

Father.

You said Lord Choi might know

how to stop Hong-joo from using black magic, right?

If we stop Hong-joo from controlling him,

he can come back for a short while, can't he?

I will go to the place you told me about yesterday.

Since she thinks I'm on her side,

it's better for me to go.

Then, what will happen to Father?

His life is prolonged because of black magic.

Without it, what will happen to him?

You are as tenacious as they come, aren't you?

-Father. -My lord, look at her carefully.

It's Yeon-hee.

What would you like me to do?

What shall I do?

If you stay by the Princess' side,

you will all be killed.

Hong-joo.

It's you.

I really didn't want to deal with you,

Hong-joo.

I hate speaking to something that isn't human.

You must be the one who stabbed me in the back using the Red Robe.

How did you know about the King's illness?

Is that what you want to know?

I heard that black magic attacks the weak mind.

So, I tried to understand His Majesty's mind.

There is something I would like to know.

What weakness did you use to get to Lord Choi?

Do you want to extract the black magic from Lord Choi?

It's unfortunate,

but you will not be able to do that.

What are you going to do with Lord Choi?

That's what I want to ask you.

Do you think you can handle him?

You can neither save nor kill him.

You have no choice but to watch him die.

The reason you are doing this to him

is because

you do not want him dead, do you?

What do you think you're doing?

Lord Choi.

Yeon-hee.

Father.

Are you all right, my lord?

It seems like

Poong-yeon has inflicted an injury on Hong-joo.

Lord Choi, I need to ask you before Hong-joo recovers.

Is there a way to get rid of Hong-joo's black magic?

Find the source of her black magic.

The source of her black magic? What is that?

On the day she first started practicing black magic,

she was holding something in her hands.

It was a black sword.

That is the source of her black magic.

You can destroy the black sword

with the True Samadhi Fire.

The black sword...

It must be the sword Hong-joo used to break my ritual boundary.

I see you have sent me a rat.

What did you do to Poong-yeon?

Don't worry about him.

He is still alive.

If you want to see Poong-yeon again,

come to the West Forest alone,

Princess.

We are about to lose a reliable ally

who has been protecting us from Hong-joo.

I will save him.

I will save Lord Choi.

Is there a way to save him?

I know where Hong-joo is hiding.

After I stop her from using black magic,

I will find a way to save my father.

Is that why

the man named Jun Heo came into the Palace again?

I'm grateful that he saved your life

but do you have to go with him?

I do not want you to put yourself in danger.

And the Royal Court might bring your conduct into question.

I will provide him with soldiers if necessary.

So, tell him to secretly work outside the Palace.

This is for me to do.

He never hesitates...

to risk his life for me.

I also want to protect him.

That is all the more reason why he shouldn't set foot in the Palace.

People are already talking about

a man with no status entering your chambers.

You are a princess.

Even though you spent most of your life outside the Palace,

it does not change the status you were born with.

Behave according to the Palace's customs

and keep your distance from him.

Do you understand?

What is it you are trying to say?

Why are you...

trying to replace the Chief of Sogyeokseo all of a sudden?

The circumstances show that Lord Hyun-seo Choi

can no longer maintain his position.

Is it...

Hong-joo again?

Yes, Your Majesty.

How can a mere shaman

bring so much turmoil to this nation?

The security of the royal family and the Princess is our priority.

That is why I would like someone

who I can trust to take that position.

Do you have someone in mind?

I am sure you have the same person in mind, Your Majesty.

Please appoint Poong-yeon Choi

the former senior officer of the Royal Guard,

as the next Chief of Sogyeokseo.

Does he...

want to take that position?

I am sure he will take it as his father has fallen ill.

It seems the two of you have grown close recently.

I guess he persuaded you

into allowing him a public post.

He is the son of Lord Choi.

His character and loyalty are as solid as his father's.

Isn't that why you had him by your side?

I don't think there is anyone else

other than him...

who can protect the Princess.

I will take it under consideration.

You may leave now.

I know what you are about to do.

Don't do it.

She asked me to come.

Have you forgotten how wicked she is?

I will go. You stay here.

You cannot deal with her alone.

While I lure her away,

you can go get the black sword.

Do you expect me to just let you walk into danger?

I didn't want to see you get hurt.

I didn't want you to be like me

pushed to the edge of a cliff because of some absurd fate.

That is why I tried so hard to protect you.

If something happens to you,

how am I supposed to live?

Nothing will happen to me.

She won't be able to harm me.

No one can harm...

you and me.

I am going to Hong-joo because I trust you.

You should also trust me and go to her hideout.

Thanks to you,

we were given another chance to capture the Princess.

You got wounded by the black sword so you'll be fine soon.

I need you to recover soon

so that you can light up the True Samadhi Fire.

Jun.

Have you come to your senses, my lord?

You need to be careful.

Black magic is extremely dangerous.

If you do not respect the black sword

you will get devoured up by it.

Black magic...

attacks people's weaknesses.

You need to stay strong.

The moment you stumble,

the black magic will overwhelm you.

Do not let anything sway you.

Promise me.

Yes, my lord.

She is here.

Sir.

Sir.

They will take away everything you have.

They look down on you because of your background.

In the end,

you will end up with nothing.

The woman whom you love

will also end up leaving you.

If you do not respect the black sword,

you will get devoured up by it.

Black magic...

attacks people's weaknesses.

You need to stay strong.

The moment you stumble

the black magic will overwhelm you.

What could you possibly do for her?

There is nothing you can do.

Do not attempt to do anything.

Do not try to escape or fight it.

Just lead your life as if you were dead.

Apologize right now.

Beg for his forgiveness! Now!

You cannot change the status you were born with.

Behave according to the Palace's customs,

and keep your distance from him.

How can a runaway servant survive?

It was you who pushed your mother into the flames!

Your reckless actions

will put Poong-yeon's life at risk.

So, follow my instructions.

I plan to do so.

How was the meeting with your father?

I should be thanking you.

I never thought you would revive him with black magic.

He wouldn't be dead if it hadn't been for you.

The black magic you practice is truly fascinating.

It even saves a person's life.

It also kills people.

Then,

you must know how to bring my father back.

If you must die to save him,

will you give up your life?

Your father never hesitated once to sacrifice his life for you.

That is why I am here today.

Are you really willing to give up your life?

I don't see the fellow who always accompanies you.

Why would I bring him along

when I plan to die?

How foolish can you be?

You played with black magic on your own accord.

-No, Jun. -Jun.

Do you think I'm like you?

No! Stop it!

SECRET HEALER

Everyone you love will die.

Everyone who loves you

will also die.

That is your curse.

Yeon-hee.

What are you doing?

I don't feel all right.

I don't want to look pathetic.

Because I was scared, I lied to you.

So, I'm sorry.

I just...

If it wasn't for the protective boundary,

I would have pushed you out.

I felt sympathetic towards you and I worried about you.

I was thankful that you relied on me.

It's you, isn't it?

Everything I told you

was the truth.

How can you be so foolish?

Do you think I'm like you?

Do not let anything sway you.
