(Peace-making Marriage) (Zhao Huaibi)

Zhao, look how beautiful the flowers are.

Yes.

What are we going to do after breakfast?

Go horseback riding or fishing?

I have some official business to attend to.

I can't play with you.

Official business?

His Majesty wants me to transport salt to Yan State.

We will set off in the afternoon.

Yan State?

Then we won't see each other for a long time.

Yan State is very close to us.

Three days later,

I'll come back to see you.

Why don't I tell Father

I'll go with you?

Well...

This is probably not a good idea.

You don't want me to go with you?

The journey to Yan State is bumpy.

I'm afraid you'll feel ill.

Never mind.

Go get busy.

His Majesty trusts us

and leaves Muyan Forest

to our mansion's care.

Does all the salt come from these trees?

That's right.

There is also some on the ground.

Although most of the salt

is derived from sea salt refining,

the process is complicated.

Using Muyan trees to make salt is a characteristic of Fuyu,

it's also the foundation

for Fuyu to establish

in the world.

It brings benefits to the country and the people.

Your Highness, the refined salt is ready.

General Zhao will send them to Yan State in a while.

Your Highness.

General, no need for formalities.

The salt is ready.

I told them to put cover over the salt

to prevent it from melting.

Transporting salt

is a big deal.

Please be careful along the way, General.

Your Highness, you're thoughtful.

I will leave now.

Get ready to set off.

General.

General, bad news.

- Princess is missing. - What?

When?

Today after Princess Guangde met you,

she knew you're leaving this afternoon

and worried you wouldn't eat the pastry from hometown,

so she wanted to prepare fish cakes for you.

We followed her

but still lost her.

We only found her shoes by the lake.

Really?

How dare I lie about something like this?

Now the palace is looking for the whereabouts of Princess Guangde.

His Majesty already knew

and sent the Royal Guards to help.

General.

Princess Guangde's lost.

But I have military duties and cannot leave at will.

Your Highness, could you...

Leave this matter to me.

You go transport salt first.

The salt can be transported to Yan State in as fast as two days.

I'll wait here until sunset.

Be relieved and wait here.

I'm going to the palace now.

If there is any news, I'll notify you immediately.

Thank you, Your Highness.

Let's go.

Your Highness.

I'll look for her with you.

It'll be faster.

Have you seen the Princess?

- No. - Go over there and take a look.

Go.

- Princess. - Princess.

Princess.

Not here.

Go, quickly.

- Princess. - Princess.

Princess.

Guangde.

- Princess. - Princess.

- Guangde. - Princess.

Princess.

- Guangde, come out quickly. - Princess Guangde.

Guangde.

Are you okay?

I'm fine.

Princess Guangde

is so petty.

She went missing over such a small thing.

No.

Although she is a little willful,

she won't be so inconsiderate.

I heard from the maids in the palace

she wanted to make fish cakes for General Zhao.

Could she be in the Imperial Kitchen?

If she's really in the Imperial Kitchen,

we should've heard news.

I know.

You are really here.

Changsheng, why are you here?

I can't find you anywhere in the palace.

I heard you wanted to make fish cakes

so I wondered if you'd come here.

I...

Do you know that everyone is worried about you?

I am afraid

the chefs in the Imperial Kitchen will help me make them.

So I came to our playhouse.

What's with the shoes by the lake?

Everyone thought you were drowned.

Shoes?

What shoes?

Maybe when I was fishing just now,

I'm afraid they would die

and became too anxious,

so the shoes fell off.

Come with me to see His Majesty.

The whole palace has been searching for you.

General Zhao is delaying

to transport salt for you.

Okay.

Do you want to try my fish cake first?

It's super delicious.

Come on.

Alright.

If you don't want to eat, forget it.

Give me.

I got shoes for you.

Thanks.

The shoes fell off,

and you're still frying fish cakes here.

How confused.

I don't know what you're thinking.

In my opinion,

Princess Guangde is missing,

and Princess Changsheng will be happy.

She's just pretending to be a good friend.

Everyone knows that they don't get along.

Right.

They had pursued General Zhao together.

If Princess really had an accident,

Her Highness can marry General Zhao.

She is the happiest one.

But General Zhao dares not to marry her.

How dare you

to talk about Her Highness behind her back.

- Princess, spare me. - Guards, slap them.

- I was wrong. - Or you can slap yourselves.

Never mind.

We should go meet His Majesty.

There's no need to get mad at them.

You remember,

what happens between Changsheng and I is our business.

If you dare to gossip again,

I'll cut off your tongues.

Yes.

Let's go.

(Waves by the Sea) Brother, don't worry.

We have sent people to look for her.

I believe there will be news soon.

Among all my children,

this is my favorite daughter.

If something happens to her,

I won't live anymore.

I can empathize with you.

Brother.

Your Majesty.

The Princess has been found.

Dad.

You naughty girl.

Where have you been?

It's all your fault.

You asked Zhao to transport salt.

I just thought

he would miss my fish cakes.

So...

Zhao?

Zhao Huaibi?

Yuzhi?

Okay, okay, okay.

I'll go tell Zhao.

I'm afraid he'll be anxious.

Also, the fish cakes won't be tasty when they get cold.

Didn't he go to transport salt?

He...

Yes.

General Zhao is already on his way to transport salt.

I'm afraid it's too late.

When did you start?

When he comes back,

do you want me to grant him a marriage?

Dad.

Your Majesty.

The heavy snow

crushed the bridge to Yan State.

That is the only way for us to reach Yan State.

Fortunately, Zhao Huaibi left early.

I guess he's crossed the broken bridge.

How lucky!

Almost affected the salt transport.

Your Majesty.

I'll return to the Muyan Forest to make snow defense.

I'm leaving now.

I am coming too.

Where are we going?

Why did you stop me just now?

Make your words clear.

(Imperial Study) Otherwise I won't go.

There are too many people here.

I have asked General Zhao to wait in the Muyan Forest.

If you don't want him to be convicted,

then follow me.

Wait for me.

Zhao.

These are the fish cakes I made for you.

You should try it soon.

Maybe it's a little cold.

But it tastes good.

You got lost for this?

Yes.

Didn't you say you wanted to eat fish cakes last time?

I'm afraid you'll be gone for too long

and will miss the taste.

Try it and see if it suits your taste.

Guangde.

You've really made a big trouble.

I just made some fish cakes.

How did I cause a big trouble?

You're making a big deal out of nothing.

In the past, people needed to

set off at night for salt transportation,

and maybe they could make it in two days.

Now the snow has broken the bridge.

The journey can't be completed

in three days.

Do you know

what will be the consequences

if General Zhao delayed the transportation of salt?

Big deal,

I'll explain it to Father.

Do you think His Majesty will change his mind

because of your words?

Delaying the salt trade

is a capital crime.

What to do then?

What else can we do?

We can only think of a way

to deliver the salt in time.

So what if we can't deliver it?

Worst case, you won't be a general.

Anyway, the Prince Consort cannot serve as an official.

It's only a matter of time

for you to take off your armor.

Throughout my life,

my only wish is to lead troops

to defend the country.

If this is true,

I'd rather be killed.

What do you mean?

You don't want to be a Prince Consort?

Now is not the time to talk about this.

Let's think of a solution

to get through this first.

There's no time to lose.

Your Highness.

I'll leave first.

More preparation may quicken the speed in doing work.

Give me one night.

I'll think about a solution carefully.

Thank you, Your Highness.

Zhao, fish cakes.

Changsheng.

What should I do?

Guangde.

I'll send someone to take you back to the palace first.

After returning to the palace,

you must keep your mouth shut.

Just tell me

what you need.

No matter what time it is,

send people to the palace to find me.

I'll be always on call.

Young Master.

God really helps us.

What does it mean?

Do you know

Fuyu and Yan State

will establish diplomatic relations due to salt trade?

Once the salt transport is delayed,

the two sides will hold grudges.

Fuyu has always used salt to manage relations with other countries.

We just need to add fuel to the fire,

and then, it'll lead to a breakdown

in Fuyu's relationship with other countries.

By then, Great Tang

can conquer Fuyu in one fell swoop.

I got it.

Leave me.

Yes.

Your Highness, you're still not resting?

Yi'an.

I'm looking at the map.

(Route Map between Fuyu and Yan State)

Is it for

General Zhao's salt transport?

It seems

Your Highness still doesn't trust me.

You already knew.

Can you keep it a secret for me?

If this is just a matter between Yan State and Fuyu,

it's not serious.

But it is related to the foundation of Fuyu.

If there is a problem with the salt,

then our mansion

will definitely bear the brunt.

We will be held accountable.

You chose to

tell me such a serious matter?

You are smart.

If you want to know,

you will find out.

If I tell you directly,

perhaps

you'll keep it a secret for me

for our friendship's sake.

Your Highness is straightforward.

I will keep it a secret for you.

Thank you.

Your Highness, Mr. Envoy.

What's wrong?

General Zhao sent someone to ask

whether you've come up with a solution.

Give me a moment.

I'll figure it out tonight.

Yes.

Yi'an, I can't chat with you anymore.

I need to think about

a way out.

I'm leaving now.

(Pure and Jade-like Heart)

(Virtue and Morality)

Your Highness, you didn't sleep all night.

Have something to drink.

No.

Thank you, Yi'an.

Your Highness.

There's news from the Muyan Forest

that General Zhao has come to get salt.

What?

Let's go to the Muyan Forest.

What's the point of you going?

I haven't figured out a solution

and wasted General Zhao's time for nothing.

I have to see him

before he leaves.

Sit down.

You rest at home.

I'll solve it.

You?

Do you believe me?

It's not that I don't disbelieve you.

It's just

this matter is huge.

I...

You figured out a solution?

Let's discuss it together.

I know

if I don't explain why,

you can't be at ease.

Yan State is located downstream of Fuyu.

Usually by land,

it takes three days to get there.

What if we go by water?

How can I not know this?

It's just

salt melts in water.

We're afraid of accidents.

Even if we're willing to take risks now,

the water is frozen.

I sent someone to ask.

The ice is solid.

There is no way to cut through it,

then how can we sail a boat on it?

Wait.

Your Highness, what did you think of?

The ice is solid.

We can choose not to sail

- but slide. - Right.

(Fuyu, 140 km)

(Yan State)

I calculated the gradient and wind direction.

We just need to equip the salt cart

with skates

and put a sail on it.

In less than two days,

it can reach Yan State.

Yi'an.

You are so smart.

Thank you.

From now on,

I will definitely believe you.

Jinyan, get prepared.

Let's go.

- Changsheng. - Your Highness.

Don't move.

Lie down.

You've been busy all night.

Take a good rest.

All right.

Be careful.

Do you remember the method Mr. Envoy just mentioned?

Your Highness, rest assured.

I remember every single word.

I'll let Youyong and Youmou go with you

to make a sailing ice cart together

and help General Zhao transport salt.

Yes.

- I... - Don't talk.

By the way,

I have to send someone to inform Guangde.

What do you think?

Sir, you're thoughtful.

We can't guess your intention.

Do you really think so?

Sure.

Sir,

even if you punish me, I still need to say.

Are you in love with Princess Changsheng?

- Youyong. - Women are the cause of trouble.

Sir.

Let me ask you,

if something goes wrong with the salt transport,

and Fuyu becomes our affiliation,

do we need to re-establish our diplomatic relations and trade

with other countries?

Sir, do you really think so?

Before imperial decree is issued,

Your Highness is still free.

can save me.

maybe I still have hope.
