[Episode 19]

Don't tell me

I have to divorce her for real?

Who told you to divorce her?

Sometimes,

I'm just angry at you

because you always take her side.

Ziyu.

What's going on with you today?

In the past, if I had asked you to divorce her,

you would have gone to war with me.

But why are you

the one bringing this up today?

I was just worried that you

might actually force me to divorce Yi

in a moment of anger.

Since you didn't actually mean it,

you should have told me sooner,

so I wouldn't have worried.

If I told you about it,

you'd tell Yi

right away.

Then she'll have nothing to fear

and will show me

even less respect.

All right. I won't tell her.

She and her sister

are together all the time.

My wife and I

are no longer as close.

She's just

an unmarried girl.

She'll return

to Count of Dongping's Mansion eventually.

She won't stay here for long.

You should send your men

to look for Qing'er

and see where she went.

Yes, Mother.

Miss Jiang?

Miss Jiang,

did you two rescue me?

You were right.

Zhu Ziyu didn't intend

to keep his promise at all.

Now that I'm useless to him,

he wants to silence me.

Mr. Yu, Miss Jiang, I'll definitely repay your kindness

in the future.

You don't need to be so courteous.

You should let her be courteous for once.

We need you

to do us a favor.

Have you already dealt with Qing'er?

I have.

I've already made sure

she has disappeared without a trace, dead or alive.

Sir, where's my sister?

I beg you. Please spare her.

Deliver a letter for me.

If you do my bidding,

once the deed is done,

not only will I keep her alive,

but I'll also set her free.

But if you can't even complete

such a small task,

you should think about the consequences

your sister might face.

Good.

Miss Yu'er.

Someone is waiting for you in the carriage.

Yu'er!

Qing'er?

Yu'er, hurry and get in.

Qing'er, are you all right?

Zhu Ziyu already promised me

that he would set you free soon.

But why are you

together with Miss Jiang?

Set me free?

To Zhu Ziyu,

I'm already

a lifeless corpse.

Of course, I'm free.

What do you mean?

Zhu Ziyu was worried that I might betray him.

He wanted to silence me.

Luckily, Miss Jiang and Mr. Yu saved me

despite past grievances.

If not, we would have already

been separated by death.

Yu'er,

you looked like you were in a hurry.

Were you trying

to deliver letters on Zhu Ziyu's behalf?

This...

Yu'er, it's all right.

Zhu Ziyu is untrustworthy.

The only way

for us to survive

is by helping Miss Jiang.

Let's hand the letter to Miss Jiang.

Plans have changed. Wait for my good news.

Wait!

Yu'er, don't worry.

I have a way

to set you two free.

Miss.

Mr. Zhu

sent Qing'er here to relay a message again.

Mr. Zhu said

he would wait for you

at a discreet residence.

He has something urgent to tell you.

He sent me here so that I could take you there.

Mr. Zhu.

I've already relayed the message.

The lady said

she would wait for you at a discreet residence.

She sent me here so that I could take you there.

She's raring to see me, huh?

Mr. Zhu,

the lady is inside.

How could I come back

in one piece

if those were just rumors?

In the abandoned house

of Liyu Alley right ahead,

the beauty is waiting for me to see her.

Who are you trying to fool here?

Do you think Mrs. Zhu

has lost her mind?

You all have to believe me.

Seeing is believing.

Today,

I'll take you all to see for yourselves.

It's right ahead!

We'll be there soon.

Let's have a look.

I've missed you very much.

Give me a little more time.

I'll think of a way

to divorce Jiang Yi.

No.

I'll get rid of her.

How long do I have to wait?

If you keep this up,

I'll start to doubt

your sincerity

toward me.

Before this,

Previously, Cui Mingyue had people monitor

the Zhu family in an attempt to harm Yi.

But she did not join forces with Zhu Ziyu.

I never expected that,

due to fate's twists,

the two of them would conspire

to kill my sister.

Your Highness, heaven and earth can bear

witness to my devotion to you,

but those two sisters are quite hard to deal with.

They also have a powerful commandant

helping them out.

Commandant?

It's Yu Qi of the Capital Administration Office.

Yu Qi?

He's actually in Lingshui?

Your Highness, do you know him?

How would I know him?

Yu,

are you saying

that you can't get rid of her

as long as Jiang Si is here?

Even Yunshui House's meticulously crafted plan

was ruined by her.

I'm afraid we'll give ourselves away

if we act recklessly.

Wasn't Qing'er's identity

already exposed?

Why did you send her to relay your message?

Don't worry.

I've gotten rid of her.

Since she was of no use to me,

death was a better end for her.

That was her twin sister, Yu'er.

They just look alike.

Once the deed is done,

I'll kill her too.

What about

Meng Nan of the Caiyun Troupe?

He said he wanted to stay by my side

and make me happy.

He's just a theater actor.

How dare he harbor such wishful thinking?

How dare that wretched nobody

keep showing his face before Your Highness?

He's pretty good at the drums.

He looks quite dashing too.

At least I can keep him around

to entertain me.

After all,

you can't keep me company every day.

Of course, I wish to spend every day

with you.

Your Highness, you made me a promise.

You'll be married to me, right?

In the future,

you're not allowed to look at other men again.

It's right ahead.

We're almost there.

Meng Nan is such a fool.

I told him to spread rumors

about Jiang Yi.

I didn't expect him to do my bidding.

I'm just worried

that Meng Nan might give us away

after the authorities arrest him.

Give us away?

From start to finish,

he has never seen my face.

You've never shown yourself either.

We used Qing'er as our messenger.

Are you scared now?

Your Highness, we'll do as you say.

This is the place.

Push it open!

Open the door!

Did you call them here?

Don't worry. I'm here.

- Open the door! - Hurry!

They're forcing the front door open, and the back door is blocked.

We have nowhere to hide.

You fool! We fell for their trick!

Let's go.

Meng Nan.

Turns out the one dated with Mr. Meng

is a man.

Are you blind?

Can't you tell

that there's a girl behind him?

Yes.

You're right.

What are you all doing here?

This is the Zhu family's territory.

Hurry and scram.

Dear, are you all right?

Don't leave yet.

Yi.

Was Ziyu addressing her as you?

Yi.

You kept a mistress outside behind my sister's back.

Now, people have exposed you.

Even so, you still tried to use my sister

as your escape ticket, huh?

So, you fell for someone else.

You tried to harm me

with all those despicable means

all because of her, didn't you?

Yi, this is a misunderstanding.

Don't let your sister sow discord between us.

At this moment,

you still dare to say that I'm sowing discord?

A man and a woman caught in a hidden alley.

How is this a misunderstanding?

Go ahead and explain yourself.

Everyone here can be our judge.

That's right!

Miss.

How long do you plan to hide your face?

You have the guts to date a married man,

but you don't have the guts to show yourself, huh?

Everyone, take a look!

Let's see

which family she belongs to.

Jiang Si, how audacious of you!

I'm no match for you in this regard.

Do you two know each other?

Cui Mingyue.

Seems like the Princess Royal's Mansion is capable indeed.

They kept the news

tightly under wraps.

Not long ago,

Cui Mingyue attempted to murder my brother but failed.

She was demoted by His Majesty.

It made her

hate our family even more.

Do you truly think

that the only daughter of the Princess Royal

will fall for someone like you?

Do you trust her or me?

Your choice.

Let go.

Since you've seen

that Mingyue and I are in love,

let's part ways peacefully.

It's her,

the Princess Royal.

Mother?

Your Highness,

Mingyue and I love each other.

Please give us your blessings.

Mother,

Zhu Ziyu deceived me.

When I first came to Lingshui,

he pestered me

with his sweet words.

Mother, please trust me.

Zhu Ziyu, you better know what's good for you.

If you dare to pester her again,

I'll take your life.

Your Highness,

by shielding Princess Mingyue like this,

you are aiding and abetting evil.

Insolence!

Princess Mingyue has no regard for human life

and treats others as mere ants.

Sooner or later, she'll make a grave mistake,

and there will be no turning back.

Are you teaching me

how to educate my child?

Your Highness, you must know better than anyone

how His Majesty dealt with the transgression

of the Marquis of Changxing's only son.

Jiang Si, how dare you?

Princess Mingyue, you said

that Zhu Ziyu deceived you

with his sweet words.

But to me,

this is nothing more than a carefully orchestrated trap

of yours.

You tried to harm my sister

so that you could vent your frustrations from being demoted.

You do have a silver tongue.

However, I hate it

when people threaten me.

Stop!

What are you up to?

Are you Yu Qi?

Since when did the jurisdiction

of the Capital Administration Office extend to this area?

Your Highness, we're no match for you.

You hold absolute power,

both inside and outside

the city.

Yu Qi, how dare you make such presumptuous remarks

about the Princess Royal?

I dare not do so.

Your Highness, unlike you,

I dare not disregard the law.

This is a reminder from me.

The case of Jinshui River

has already been concluded by His Majesty.

Mingyue was just a victim.

Today's matter is settled.

If you all keep it a secret,

I shall

let you off.

Since there's no way to avoid them,

I should be ready to face my foes.

Yi, I was foolish and led astray.

Can you please forgive me?

As you wish,

we shall get a divorce.

[Zhu Mansion]

[Mr. Zhu]

You scoundrel!

Someone! Bring me my cane!

Today,

I shall beat this unfilial son to death

to uphold my family's honor!

But Dear...

Don't interrupt me!

It's all because you spoiled him.

Yi.

Don't worry.

I'll give you an account

and uphold justice for you.

My only wish is to get a divorce.

Yi, get up.

Yi.

Although Ziyu

has committed an unpardonable sin,

you should consider

Yan's best interest.

You are husband and wife after all.

You can definitely overcome this obstacle.

Yan...

Mr. Zhu,

if we truly wanted to uphold justice,

we would've brought

this case

to the local authorities.

We're discussing this behind closed doors

precisely because

Yi had considered Yan's best interest.

Given the current situation,

we must take Yan with us as well.

You're just an unmarried girl.

What gives you the right

to decide for your sister?

Yi,

I know

that you aren't ruthless enough

to make that decision.

Am I right?

If you get divorced

and have a young girl to raise,

how can you manage

in the future?

Madam Zhu, you don't need to worry about that.

Even if we fall on hard times,

our family can still provide for its own.

Ziyu,

kowtow and apologize to Yi.

Promise her that you won't do it again.

Yi.

I'm heartless and ungrateful.

I've let you down.

Yi,

can you please give me another chance?

You tried to harm your wife

and have an affair with a noble lady.

You were truly heartless and ungrateful.

Since Yi

has already

seen your true colors,

why would she give you a chance

and continue spending the rest of her life with you?

Harm his wife?

You mustn't spout nonsense.

Mr. Zhu,

not long before this,

the horse pulling my sister's carriage

was startled.

She almost lost her life.

Have you all

gotten to the bottom of it?

Well...

I had long suspected

that Zhu Ziyu was the mastermind

behind the incident.

Coincidentally, Commandant Yu of the Capital Administration Office

was there

to witness the entire process too.

Mr. Zhu,

you better think this through.

If you don't agree with the divorce,

we shall report the carriage case

to the local authorities.

By then,

if Zhu Ziyu

is deemed to be related to the case,

you and your son's career will be...

The Zhu family

should sign the letter of divorce immediately.

From now on,

my sister and your son

shall be separated.

No matter what happens,

they shall never cross paths again.

If not, we shall see each other in court.

Since she wants a divorce,

I'll give her that.

Mother, you've always wanted me

to divorce her, right?

We shall do it today.

As for Yan,

she's just a girl.

She'll eventually be married off to someone else.

If they want her,

they can take her with them.

We can't just

let them bring the case to the court

and ruin your son's future.

You...

How could...?

I'll entrust them

Don't worry.

They won't starve

as long as I'm around.

Miss Si,

actually,

I've always wanted

to give you this painting.

What is this?

Since you're asking me,

I'll tell you the truth.

I rescued your sister for two reasons.

First, it's to uphold justice.

Second, it's to repay your family's favor.

Repay our favor?

A life-saving favor.

Your mother, Su Ke,

once rescued me.

My mother?

My parents passed away when I was young.

Before their passing,

they entrusted me to the Caiyun Troupe.

I had just passed the age of 15.

They bullied me for being young

and alone.

I couldn't resist their bullying,

yet I couldn't swallow the grievances

and let them bully me.

I ran out

of the Caiyun Troupe out of spite.

I never expected

to encounter human traffickers on the way.

I was almost beaten to death.

Luckily,

Su Ke was there to rescue me.

Help me!

[Su Ke, Jiang Si's Mother] Help me!

Mr. Cui.

Scram!

Yes, sir.

Miss.

Miss, are you all right?

Miss?

Miss?

The year Su took me in

was the best year of my life.

Su was a noble lady,

but she took in a theater actor.

Plenty of people were gossiping about her.

Mr. Su wanted to send me away.

But Su said

that others could say whatever they wanted.

There's no need to care about them.

Even if they did send me away,

people

would still gossip about them.

Although Su didn't mind it,

I didn't want to cause her trouble.

I still returned to the Caiyun Troupe.

But her words

truly enlightened me.

Since then,

I was no longer affected

by rumors and gossip.

I made her a promise.

I'd perform the best dance for her

once I return

after mastering my skills.

Thank you,

Miss Fei.

Thank you for sharing this with me.

Mother passed away

right after I was born.

I've never

met her before.

All these years,

I could only sketch out

her face in my mind

by relying on the words people use to describe her.

Miss Fei,

I'm very envious of you.

I'm envious that you were able

to spend so much time with her.

Our bond is enduring. Until we meet again.

Yan, be careful.

Careful.

You all can depart before me.

Yes, sir.

Mr. Yu.

I have a question

I wish to ask you

before my departure.

Mr. Yu, please go ahead.

You observed us in secret

in the woods back then, right?

Mr. Yu, you must be mistaken.

I was doing my rounds in another area.

I rushed there

upon hearing the startled horse.

Commandant Xie, you said I risked my life to save them.

But you were the same.

[Border of Ling'an]

[Count of Dongping's Mansion]

Greetings, Grandmother.

had slaughtered innocent civilians.

My father, brother, and sister

all suffered and died in agony because of you two.

Today,

I will avenge them.

This

is for my husband,

Yu Qi.

Why did you kill him too?

Now,

and Yi

are all safe.

Perhaps I'm no longer the bringer of misfortune.

Yu Qi will surely be safe too.
