[Go East]

[Episode 30]

-Bravo! -Bravo!

-Bravo! -Bravo!

You four, go over there.

-Yes! -Yes!

Arrest him!

There's nothing to see!

He caused trouble while drunk.

He's now under Jingzhao's arrest.

Disperse!

Take him away.

Go!

What are you doing? Pay for my wine!

My wine!

It's him.

Disperse!

-Everyone, quickly disperse! -Disperse!

Disperse!

You'll die with me!

Run! It's a poison bomb!

Stone!

Who are you?

Yuan Mo from Sifang Pavilion.

I have urgent business with the princess.

Let him in!

-Yes! -Yes!

Yuan Mo, why are you here?

Yuchi Hua.

I thought you weren't coming.

Man in White will detonate

self-made poison bombs in Changle.

What?

Sifang Pavilion and Jingzhao's soldiers

are investigating it.

But it's very dangerous here.

I suspect their real target is Ah Shu.

We should evacuate the crowd first.

Everyone, please stop.

There's an emergency now.

Please do as I say.

Return to your rooms and close all doors and windows.

Take care of the elderly and young.

No matter what you hear later,

do not come out.

Understand?

Let's all listen to the princess.

Hurry, go!

Back to your rooms!

-Hurry, go! -Hurry, go!

Ah Shu.

This place is remote.

If something happens, rescue will be difficult.

We should leave too.

Let's go.

Your Highness.

Poison bombs have exploded in the market.

There are casualties.

I've been ordered by Magistrate Lin

to dispatch Jingzhao troops there to assist.

Dispatch the men away?

What about the princess' safety?

There aren't enough men in the city.

I'm just following orders.

Hua.

Let them go.

Don't worry, with you and San Niang,

we'll be fine.

Leave six men here!

The rest can go with you.

Yes.

The rest, follow me!

-Yes! -Yes!

Ah Shu.

Let's leave now.

Let's go.

Put out the fire.

I wonder how the people in the market are doing.

Don't worry.

Wang Kunwu and the others will surely catch The Faceless members

and protect the people.

But as for you,

I have a feeling...

Man in White deliberately caused chaos throughout the city

as a diversion.

The carriage's stopped.

Why's it stopped?

Cover the windows!

Okay.

This carriage won't hold out for long.

If this continues, we'll all die here.

San Niang.

Let's charge out together.

It's our only hope.

No!

It's stopped.

Help has arrived.

Stay here.

-Be careful. -Be careful.

We're safe now.

Come down.

-Greetings, Your Highness! -Greetings, Your Highness!

I, Longshuang Yueshu, thank you for saving my life.

May I ask who you are?

Ah Shu.

They're my undercover agents in Changle

for emergencies like this.

Uncle Kang.

I was late.

Please forgive me.

Thank you, Uncle Kang.

Thank you all for tonight.

Your Highness.

Man in White is severely injured and on the run.

You're not in immediate danger for now.

Well,

please escort the princess back home.

I'll summon you again if needed.

-Yes! -Yes!

Deputy Envoy Kang.

There are still The Faceless members in the city.

Please be careful as well.

Yuan Mo is right.

Let them escort you back home first.

How about

two people stay with me?

Okay?

San Niang.

Please, Your Highness.

Then please be careful.

Go quickly.

Don't worry, Your Highness.

[Princess's Mansion]

I, Lin Zuocheng, welcome Princess Longshuang back home.

Thank you for your trouble.

How are the people on the streets?

Rest assured, Your Highness.

The Faceless members with poison bombs

have been eliminated by the troops.

Except for a few who inhaled the poison and needed treatment,

everyone else is safe and sound.

Stone.

Where's Stone?

How's Stone?

Wang.

What happened to Stone?

To protect the people around him,

Stone hugged a poison bomb into a warehouse.

My condolences, Your Highness.

Fortunately, Yuan Mo discovered where the poison bombs were headed in time,

minimizing the casualties

in Changle City.

Uncle Lin.

Can the Jingzhao troops

stay at Princess's Mansion to protect her for now?

Alright.

Stay at the Princess's Mansion.

You must ensure her safety.

-Yes! -Yes!

Thank you, Magistrate Lin.

It's my duty.

I won't disturb you any further.

I'll take my leave.

Tonight...

We'll all be here with you.

You may leave now.

Ah Shu.

Don't be too sad.

I'm thinking...

Jingzhao's soldiers,

Yuan Mo's parents,

and Uncle Kang and the others.

So many people risking their lives for me.

Is it worth it?

Even if you were a nobody,

my father would still have saved you.

He often said

a true man wants nothing

but a clear conscience.

I think everyone's the same.

They just did what they thought was right.

So everything tonight

was for me.

Kang Yunhai, oh, Kang Yunhai.

You've made it so hard for me to find you.

You should know

the consequences of betraying Viceroy Long.

I can die here.

But can you let the princess go

and let her live in peace?

Why don't you guess

how long I'll keep her alive?

You...

How pitiful.

You're about to die,

yet you're still worrying about things after death.

Who are you?

For old times' sake...

It's so beautiful.

But people don't know

what's behind these brilliant fireworks...

what some have sacrificed.

Such beautiful fireworks.

Too bad you'll never see them again.

Ah Shu.

Ah Shu.

Ah Shu.

What's wrong?

Nothing.

I just suddenly

feel empty inside.

Maybe you should get some rest.

Susu.

Split up and search.

Be thorough.

-Yes! -Yes!

Watch out, Young Master!

Susu!

Didn't I tell you to stay at Sifang Pavilion?

Why didn't you listen to me?

Why didn't you listen to me?

Help!

[Sifang Pavilion]

Where is An Xiuyi?

Vice Minister An.

Retainer An should be

exhausted from leading the investigation

on The Faceless last night.

Why don't we...

Who didn't stay up all night yesterday?

That's no excuse for being late!

Yes, yes.

Poison bombs exploded in the bustling market during the Lantern Festival.

The court is furious

and there's public outcry!

They're all questioning Ministry of Rites

about how belladonna was openly

transported into Changle

with Sifang Pavilion's seal!

Who can give me an answer?

What? Are you all deaf and dumb?

Please calm down, Vice Minister An.

Sifang Pavilion's responsible for this oversight.

We'll get to the bottom

of the belladonna import.

This matter involves The Faceless.

We hope you'd help

coordinate and provide support.

Retainer Wang is right.

The Faceless has been rampant in the desert for years.

Please submit a memorial

asking the court to order the Ministry of War and Jingzhao

to work together in response.

There's no time to lose.

Go quickly to Jingzhao for help.

Take my token with you.

The official order will follow shortly.

Yes!

Xiuyi?

An Xiuyi.

What's wrong?

Susu...

is dead.

What?

-How did she die? -T-This...

What?

This...

In order to save me,

she was killed by Man in White.

Man in White?

Man in White?

Kang Yunhai's

also missing.

Kang Yunhai's missing?

But two guards escorted him back last night.

Do you know where Kang Yunhai is?

Say something!

-An Xiuyi! -Xiuyi!

-Retainer An! -An Xiuyi!

-Get the physician! -An Xiuyi!

Get the physician!

-Retainer An! -Retainer An!

Xiuyi!

Xiuyi!

[The Key of Law Is Stability]

The soldiers and civilians who died last night

are all here.

Stone, officials,

I'm sorry.

It's my fault that you were implicated.

I, Longshuang Yueshu, swear

your blood were not shed in vain.

I will avenge you.

My condolences, Your Highness.

These few...

Chief Secretary Yuchi.

These bodies were found in a dark alley.

We've yet to identify them.

By order of Ministry of Rites' Vice Minister An,

we've come to see Magistrate Lin.

Princess Longshuang is paying her respects in the back.

Please wait a moment.

Princess Longshuang?

Ah Shu.

Uncle Kang.

Why are you here?

Uncle Kang, why are you here?

Ah Shu.

Why is Uncle Kang here?

Ah Shu.

The dead can't be brought back to life.

I'm sorry, Uncle Kang. I'm so sorry.

Let me do it.

I want to stay with him.

Ah Shu.

The coroner is here.

Don't push yourself too hard.

In Yanle, when elders pass away,

they're sent off by their favorite child.

Uncle Kang treated me like his own daughter.

If he knew I wasn't by his side,

he would be sad.

Uncle Kang.

You haven't worn the robe I bought for you, have you?

I don't know if you liked it.

Yuan Mo said Changle's winters are very cold.

Sometimes it even snows heavily.

With a fur robe,

you'd be a bit warmer.

And those boots...

If you wear them in winter,

your feet won't be cold.

I remember you once said

that when you were young,

your greatest wish was to travel the world and visit all states.

If it weren't for me,

you'd have fulfilled that wish long ago, wouldn't you?

Uncle Kang.

You'd worked too hard in this life.

In the next life, let's be family again.

Then, Yuan Mo and I

will take you to travel the world.

From Yueying to Yuluo,

then to Dongyuan and Xiyuan.

We'll never be separated again.

Uncle Kang.

Rest in peace.

I'll take good care of myself too.

Don't worry about me.

I promise you...

I will live well.

Some day...

we'll find the Man in White

and avenge you.

Uncle Kang wasn't wearing blue clothes.

Could it be from the killer?

[Yanle Embassy]

Deputy Envoy Kang was fine just yesterday.

To think we'd receive such news today.

He was such a good person.

I just don't know

who'll take his position next.

They said the replacement is on the way.

Let's wait and see.

Ma Zhiwen?

Advisor Ma?

Why are you back?

Yes.

Didn't Deputy Envoy Kang transfer you away from Yanle Embassy

and send you home?

-Long live Viceroy Long! -Long live Viceroy Long!

Everyone in Yanle Embassy, listen to my orders!

Former Deputy Envoy of Yanle, Kang Yunhai,

appeared loyal to Viceroy Long

but was secretly colluding with Yong State for personal gain.

His crime is unforgivable!

No way.

How could this be?

Impossible! Absolutely impossible!

How could Deputy Envoy Kang be a traitor?

Don't think you can deceive us

with a fake token!

Don't believe him!

Deputy Envoy Kang couldn't be a traitor!

Ma Zhiwen!

You scoundrel! Scoundrel!

Let go of me!

Whether you believe it or not,

it's now an irrefutable crime.

By order of the Yanle court,

I'll enter the Yanle Embassy now

to assume the position of Yanle's Deputy Envoy.

I'll set things right and turn the tide.

From now on,

don't call me Advisor Ma.

Call me Deputy Envoy Ma.

-Yes, Deputy Envoy Ma. -Yes, Deputy Envoy Ma.

Now that I'm the deputy envoy,

I won't treat you poorly.

Get up.

All of you, get up.

From now on, you two

will assist me as my subordinates.

Compile a report on the embassy's recent events

and submit it to me for review and approval.

Alright?

-Okay. -Yes.

This...

Close the door.

Deputy Envoy Ma.

My Lord.

How is it, Deputy Envoy Ma?

Are you satisfied with your new position?

Yes.

Extremely satisfied!

I thank Viceroy Long for his great kindness.

Thank you for your trust, My Lord.

Without you two,

I wouldn't be where I am today!

I spared your life.

But from now on,

you must know whom to be loyal to.

You are now Deputy Envoy Ma.

Don't kneel to everyone you see.

Act like a deputy envoy, understand?

Yes.

Go on.

Sit there.

That's where you should be sitting.

Go.

That's right.

There's something I want to ask you.

When you were by Kang Yunhai's side,

did you notice if

he had any contact with the old ministers loyal to

the late king of Yanle?

I...

had never noticed.

So that means

you don't know

about a blood letter jointly signed by the old ministers?

I don't.

Kang Yunhai was very discreet.

He wouldn't let me know about these things.

However, there is one thing that's very strange.

Tell me about it.

I once caught Kang Yunhai secretly going out.

I asked him where he was going.

He said he was going to look for ancient scores.

But I knew he was lying.

He went somewhere.

Where?

Lins' Depository.

T-T-That's all I know.

Alright.

If you remember anything else,

report it to me promptly.

My Lord!

What... what should I do next?

You're only fit to be my dog.

Next, you'll bark.

Bark?

Bark until Changle is turned upside down

and in utter mayhem!

I understand.

I understand, My Lord!

[Eternal Calm Sands]

[Jingzhao Prefecture]

Ah Shu has been an orphan since childhood.

Deputy Envoy Kang raised her.

He was like a father to her.

Now her only family in this world is gone.

I can't imagine how devastated she must be.

Indeed.

Man in White has added another blood debt to his account.

He'll pay for all of them eventually.

Chief Secretary Yuchi.

Yanle's new deputy envoy

is at the door with his men.

He's demanding Deputy Envoy Kang's corpse.

Tell him

Jingzhao is investigating

Deputy Envoy Kang's murder.

Until the investigation is complete,

the corpse must stay in Jingzhao.

I told him that.

But he won't listen.

He said if we don't return the corpse,

he won't leave!

Who's this new deputy envoy?

So unreasonable.

It's Ma Zhiwen, Deputy Envoy Kang's former subordinate.

-Ma Zhiwen? -Ma Zhiwen?
